This is kind of unrelated, but I can't remember so maybe you know...
But wasn't one of the top execs to Raytheon killed on one of the planes that hit the WTC?
Be safe over there. I'm sure you won't be near any action but you never know with those crazy fuckin bastards. If you see a camel with a lit fuse hanging out of its ass run.
I'm kind of sceptical about them, even though I make them now and again.
I got one, the kind that is sold off of ebay, and its about 1.25 long, about .625 in diameter with these cute little fins cut into it. When I calculated the total surface area that would help "cool" the radiator fluid, it worked out to a whopping 9 square inches.
The inline coolers Ive made have around 40-50 sq inches of surface area......
But honestly, I don't think they are going to give you a 10 degree difference, and as far as horsepower is concerned, probably none is going to be "freed up" by it.
Thats pretty cool. On a rem piece, chances are they wouldn't have ever sold it anyway, and this way they can write it off for the value rather than warehouse it.
New Age Industires....
You might have a few people show up in a minivan to your house in the next few days. They'll be playing tambourines and they'll smell like pachouli and compost.
Travis, on your shock, take a look at the shock travel, then take a look at how much travel you have for the tires....about 3 to1. For every inch of shock travel, you get about 3 on a stock swinger from what I've measured. It might me more, or less, but about is what I figured. With out that linkage, the leverage is even greater against that shock but I think alot of that comes from the shock angle. With the linkage the shock is more up and down which gives the shock the advantage lets say, but when you lay it down at more of an angle you don't get the same advantage.
Its hard to explain, and I've seen a few shock/swingarm/a-arm rate calculators (I think Rancho has one on their site) and shock angle plays a huge role in a springs ability to suspend.
Shit...rebuild it. We're at about 4800 feet or so, and even with my shaved head its pushing about 155 PSI. You should be more than that even. I'm about 20CC's or so. You should be in the 160's I'm thinking.
A rebuild aint hard right now where you're at.
A rebuild is a real bitch when a ring breaks up at 8000rpm, on the backside of Sand Mountain, and chews the shit out of everything from your head to your crank and rod bearings.
I went to my dealer to get bigger pilots for stock carbs once. They sold me pilots for after market Kehin carbs.
I actually had to go back twice with the stock pilot in my hand and practically grab the guys head and shove it down to the parts counter to get him to see the difference.
Buying shit online kicks ass.
LOL
Yep he's spying on She-Male 900 numbers. Who's gonna go to their credit card company, or phone company to complain that their transexual phone sex cost 3x as much as it normally does?
Its about time they start testing this thing.
I read about this in Popular Science about 5-6 years ago. I might have to see if I can dig up the magazine if I still have it.
High performance stator?
You'd think the coil would be more important than the stator if you were going "high performance"
Check the bill to make sure they didn't put "high performance lug nuts" on your hubs.
Back firing on a 4 stroke can be a few things like bad timing, or a timing adjustment needs to be made. Running lean such as a plugged carb/jet/etc.
Also if the plug is cobbed with carbon it can glow and preignite the incoming fuel charge. If I remember correctly, if you have carbon build up on your valve it can do the same thing.
Taking it to a dealer is the LAST thing you want to do. You know that bill will be 10x more than it would if you just did it yourself.
Tools are cheap and the experience is invaluable.
Being he has 0 feed back he's either new at eBay or its just a new ID.
But at $194.92 shipping, thats a hell of a deal.
Can't imagine the look on the truck drivers face when he backs his truck up to a fork lift with 2 fuckin shocks shrink wrapped to a 4x4 pallet.
I put some lowering struts on my banshee, and even though it isn't anywhere near a fast banshee, hitting sixth on pavement, toes of my shoes grabbing at the asphault scared the hell out of me.
I have a buddy that bought a salvage titled car with out knowing what it was.
Ended up that the car is essentially worthless in this state. He bought it to resell it too, so he's still driving it 3 years later, and the insurance on it is almost nothing. I don't think he can even get full coverage on the car at all.
