I'm going to modify my frame so the coolant can flow through the whole thing, and just use it as my inline cooler.

You know how funny thats going to look....me walking through the make up isle at WalMart buying cotton balls...... How well does that work over using a terry cloth towel, or a flannel rag?

I Need The Real Exhuast Prings
Cotton eyed Joe replied to sheerider4life's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I might be able to get exhaust hangers to you, but I don' t think I could do it before wednesday. And overnight shipping is alot I just found out. hehe...... -
Some of the best machined finishes in aluminum I have ever seen are with diamond tipped tools. I don't mess with composites. I cut a ton of plastic though. The fab shop that I have do my laser work just put in a 5kw laser. I guess they cut wood, glass, aluminum up to 3/8 or 1/2, steel, just about anything that will fit on their table. Something that they told me when they put it in, is its faster than their CNC punch at putting holes in 1/4" steel!!!!! Thats fast considering a punch takes almost no time to punch a hole in plate. With the laser you won't get the edge compression either. But I guess thats what you get when you spend something like $3mil on a laser table right?

From what I remember, you drain your oil, take off the clutch over, remove the 6 bolts holding the pressure plate and springs on, once you remove that, the ball, rod, and other ball should come out. You might have to tip your bike, but if you have a magnetic screw driver it would help.

Adjustable Stator Plate?
Cotton eyed Joe replied to SouthernBanshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
To figure that out, you need to now the diameter of the bolt hole circle. Once you know that, divide it by 360. That number you now have, is the distance equal to one degree. The only disadvantage to slotting your own (mine is slotted) is if you go to far, the end can crack when you tighten down on it. The advantage to an aftermarket one, and this is what I plan on doing when I start making them here shortly, is not move the whole damned plate to adjust your timing, but move just the pick up. That way you don't need to take off your fly wheel, or anything, just move the pick up, set your gap, tighten them down. -
Mother mag and aluminum polish and me don't see eye to eye. I'll have to try out some of that extreme billet polish.
-
You have a new billet dip stick . I have something like 40 more blanks at my shop to do something with. I guess we'll have to see what happens tomorrow.
-
You have a PM.

Were building some egressladders for the USAF that cost a lot more than that. Most of it is to cover the 12 months of paper work chasing we have done

That guy sounds like a moron. You should have asked him where he rides. Or better yet, ask his friend where he rides. You'd probably get 2 different answers there too.

If I remember right it uses multiple of 9's some how.

Same here...whats up?

How much for the radiator shroud and gas tank shroud?

Dave, did you happen to work for the government? I have a buddy that works for Hill AFB, and he's a percurment officer for a division of the Air Force. He emailed me one day to tell me he had a $50m contract on his desk over 9" deep, and he couldn't get engineering to call him back on a question he had on the 3rd page. Going on 2 weeks for engineering to call him back so he could proceed to give out work to venders. I agree though. As grueling, and tough as it is to be self employed, I can say I have never worked for anyone but myself ever!!!! I hope I never have to work for anyone else either. I hear its a bitch. Back to the subject, as Dave mentioned about telling them about the Eagle Scout thing, also if the field you are going into relates, tell them about projects you finished. One of my wifes friends dad puts the car restoring projects he done, and lists the ones that made it to the front covers of national magazines. It lets them know about the attention to detail he puts into his work.

OH MY HELL!!!! Thats one mean dip stick. I might be able to do something like what you described. I'm going in tomorrow to finish up some stuff, and I have quite a few "blanks" made. Hey Holyman, if you can put up a rough sketch in Paint or something. I didn't make a 3rd design, but got it CAM'd. I will have brake rotors and drag rims to match it if it works out well.

Sounds a little like what I go through. What do you do Scott? Its been nerve racking the last week and a half listening to the lights in the shop buzz.....
-
Well, I can get you one. $26- $2.60 = $23.40 and I can probably ship it monday morning-ish, after I polish it a little. Its going to be hit and miss on the polish, but I got some great machined finishes on it, so it should be a nightmare. Speaking of nightmare.....WTF??? Thats one weird dream. It isn't polished yet in that picture. I'm in the middle of putting my polishing vaccuum thing back together after cleaning about 10 lbs of fuzz and rouge out of it, and then I put a vent to the outside of my building...Hope it keeps it a little cleaner out on the floor.

I've been at the shop today looking for something to do so I kicked out another design on the dip stick. I might have a 3rd here in a 1/2 hour or so. Opinions?

Any Lawyers In The House?
Cotton eyed Joe replied to Fireman-hott's topic in General Banshee Discussion
So, does that mean you got it back???If so, cool. That sucks that the cop was acting like that just because.... -
I new a guy that had a water jet 10 years ago. The water picks up media in a stream of water that is travelling 3 times the speed of sound. It doesn't leave the best finish, but it will cut through thicker aluminun than laser cutting, and is more precise than plasma cutting.

How Do You Install A Parking Break Block Off?
Cotton eyed Joe replied to nickxc's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Shit man...while your there take your handle bars and radiator off too. That will save about 10lbs of weight. -
Thats exactly why I run 13/44 right now. I did it because I'm going to be running 21" 8's soon, but 22" would put me almost at stock top speed. I'm looking for more quickness than all out top speed. If the 8's arent enough to hook me up with the low gear ratio, then I'll go 9's.

Good pictures. I was wondering though...does it ever rain there??? I think that place just might be more green than Oregon. Oregon has a lot of damn green going on, but I think I saw some dirt when I was there a few years ago. So far I haven't seen any Scottish dirt.

I got offered gear at the gym once from a SLC Sheriff. He said quite a few of the cops in this area are juicing, and from the looks of a few of them I believe him. I think the last person you want to piss off is a 280lb Sheriff with a horrible case of the 'rages'.
