  1. WTF? I was sick for the last 2 weeks...You wanna know how many of those damned things I either chewed up or threw away??? About $2.5m worth!!!!! I'd be rich right now......
  2. You're sorta famous. How many people visit the HQ everyday from parts all over the world??? Heh..reminds me of a part in a movie with Steve Martin called "The Jerk" If you've seen it you probably know what I'm talkin bout.
  3. That fucken amazing.
  4. For right now I'm keeping out of any type of engine work. I need to know more of what I'm doing. My dad taught me 3 easy rules in life. #1. Don't work on another mans gun. (no gun repairs) #2. Don't work on another mans engine. #3. Don't f*ck another mans wife. Simple yet effective. So, Yes I could do it, but right now I can't. I might bend rule #2 sometime in the future though.
  5. They just all seemed to go on this diatribe about hating this and that. Its sad really. They need to rename that site "Klan-Traxx"
  6. I use a CNC lathe and a CNC mill to do these. I own a machine shop with a total of 3 CNC lathes, 1 manual lathe for work, 1 manual lathe for painting round parts, sanding round parts etc... 2 CNC mills, 1 horzontal mill, a cutter grinder, and an OD/ID grinder (along with various odds and ends like welder, sand blaster, 3 drill presses, tapping heads, all related inspection tooling, CAD CAM system and on and on). All tucked neatly into a 4000 sq foot shop. We have enough machinery to keep a few people busy, but its been a while since we've had that much work. Right now its just me and my dad and a guy we hired to help us on a government job, working to keep the doors open, and occasionally my brother in law comes in so we can teach him to cutter grind. I tend to like it more when its busy and the phone is ringing off the hook.
  7. I'm going to do that on my DDI billet pegs. I'm going to put 50 1/2" holes in them. I just hope there's enough peg left to call them pegs. They'll be super light weight though!!!!!!
  8. Not too sure yet. I'm trying to keep it under $400 per set with a choice of up to 10 different designs cut into them. I haven't bought a set to blanks to cut yet, and I'm kind of pushing it back a little bit to give me a chance to do some homework. I might end up buying about $250-$400 worth of tooling and building some fixtures to properly hold and cut these so they are as accurite as possible, with out deforming them when I hold them tight in the mill. I will keep you up to date as I get closer.
  9. What a bunch of fucking morons. I'm glad I quit visiting that site. Hell I barely remembered my name and password. I guess I can forget it completely now.
  10. With the -2, you will get improved handling and turning, and improved traction. With the +4 you get stability in the fact that you move the rear wheels back, essentiallly moving the center of gravity forward on your banshee, making the front end less likely to come up. You do lose some weight over the rear tires though.
  11. Thats one thing I've heard from various people I've grown up with and met that are in the racing scene here. You can't pick up an engine from your builder, drop it in your rail and expect it to run. There is always some tuning to do. When I got mine back from its little port job, the only thing I had to do was bump the jetting up 2-3 sizes, but it wasn't anything more than a clean up really.
  12. getting the crank welded is just reenforcing the mating surfaces of the Crankshaft. Allowing you to run higher compression for more power. I'll elaborate, mostly because its late, and I'm bored. The stock banshee crank isn't forged like a crank in a dragster engine. All out of one piece of steel, and the grain follows along the lines and bends. The stock banshee crank is pressed together, something like 7 individual pieces all pressed together to make up the crank. Now, if you get enough HP out of your engine, and your clutch can back it up, there is so much pressure between the clutch side of the crank, and the connecting rod journals trying to turn it, that one side will actually slip due to its being pressed together. I have a twisted crank at my shop I can take a picture of to put up here tomorrow if you would like. When you weld your crank, you are welding the individual pieces together to make them all one piece. It isn't a HUGE weld. Usually its a smaller TIG weld on a section of the piece being welded. Something that can be ground off later should the need arise for some crank work to be done.
  13. You've got mail!
  14. They do look pretty good when polished. I don't think I have a pic of the DDI dip stick polished though... I'm getting great machined finishes with these, so its keeping the hand work to a minimum which is something I really LIKE about the polishing.
  15. My shop is just off of HWY 193 (For those that live or have been to the area). Its a road that boarders Hill AFB. One day my dad calls me on the phone to ask me if I saw the police/EMT's out by the shop on my way out. I said no,...he said there was a bullet bike, and parts of it, that had T-Boned a car that turned left in front of him, just over a little crest in the road. From what he said, the front wheel was touching the back wheel, and the bike was into the car it hit. One day out on break just off of that same road last summer I had to swerve to miss being landed on by Life Flight. They didn't really have time to block the road off, they had to get this guy into SLC. His helmet was broken in about 3 pieces and covered in a bloody bio-hazard bag along with a shirt and some other clothing. Same deal. He T-boned a woman turning left into the 7-11 right there, and either he was going to fast, or she didnt see him or both. His bike wasn't a mess though. It looked rideable still, but he must have hit her front quarter panel and ricocheted off of her windshield. That guy was busted up!!!! Like these guys said. Its not necessarily you that is going to make the mistake. Its the woman tending her kids in the back seat, making a cell phone call and applying a 4th layer of makeup that will get you when you least expect it.
  16. Those are high intensity LED's. And another thing, Justins bike looked like a god damn space ship in person at night Those things are really really really bright. Justin, what colors can you get? If things are looking up I might be able to buy a prototype kit here soon.
  17. The Triple Tuning Forks?? I might be able to do a few of those as well....I'm finishing up some real work tomorrow, and then back to the CAD. Damn...I think that picture is the only one where my hands aren't dirty.
  18. I've had one ticket the entire time I've had my license...going on 13 years now. When I was 18 I looked into the insurance on a bullet bike, and the people underwriting the policy just said, "no." So I got something else instead. I went to get my own insurance on my 3rd vehicle when I was 22. The insurance went from $80/mo family policy to almost $200/mo on my own. The truck payment was only $440 or so. I've seen quite a few kids around here that get insurance for the first 6 months, then let it lapse. Hell most of them don't even have a valid motorcycle endorsement on their regular drivers license. If they get pulled over big deal. Pay the fine, its less than insurance. Thats why I have a ton of un-insured motorist coverage.
  19. I agree. Isn't about the only difference between an R6 and an R1, is just how fast it gets to 160? A guy I used to do work for had an R-6, and he said he had no problems getting to about 155. He said it wouldn't go over that.
  20. Not the acutal logo yet. I have the one I sold LISurfer with the name of my company on it..... I ought to do one of those.... I'll put up another picture about wednesday or so. Or better yet. I'll just get my website running now that its paid for.
  21. Here's the latest one. I got a few things coming out with this design.
  22. I live in Sunset, and work in Layton. Do you ever have Dave Barber at DAB Racing in Syracuse or K&T do any engine work?
  23. it looks like your brake line is bent too LMFAO Jim!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ahhh hell that was good..................
  24. I agree. I'm usually behind some dickhead getting on the freeway at 30 mph because she has an important call to make. What needs to be done is not ban cell phone use in cars, as my business, and just about every business depends on it, but triple the fines if you are in an accident and you are on your phone and its your fault. Some people can't handle it for some reason. I can talk to someone beside me or on the phone with relatively little problem. I have a bigger problem when I'm eating and driving.
  25. Yeah, thats not a tear in the lower right hand side. Its something else. LOL I need to get one of those Ultra Cool Heads and one of those rear Works shocks that looks like a stock shock.
