HELL YEAH the cam mod isn't that great, my bike didn't wake up till i stroked it!!!!! mmmm stroker. i got one of them. how much does it run to stroke a 450? what all goes into it?

hell yeah nasty. i got the best of both worlds. I would much rather have my 450 on the mx track than anything. And I've had just about every type of mx setup you can have on a shee including an outlaw. I plan on dirt drag racing my 450 next weekend, so I'll let ya now how I do against bikes just built for draggin and most if not all of them will be shee's. thanks for the support guys. its obvious some people dont know shit. chipdog, right now as we speak there are 3 banshees and 2 yfz450's sittin in my garage. ive raced them againt each other numerous time. i am an experienced rider of 18 years. i think i know my shit. my brother has been riding for about 15 years. its been repeated over and over and what i said is valid. if i had to get rid of one it would be the 450, but for the track the 450 is the way to go. hillclimbing and dragging id take the banshee. id invite you anytime to come ride with me. i wish you were close so i could send you home wanting a yfz450. like i said, i wouldnt trade my banshees for anything, but the 450 is fast whether you want to admit it or not. i tired the 50 pilots when i first put it all together and it wouldnt stay running. then i put the 48 pilot in and it idled perfect. on the very bottom its ok, its right before the powerband is where it has a little flat spot. i was thinkin maybe something to do with the needle. the gearing does seem way low right now, but i need to order some bigger sprockets. ive been running a mix of 3 gallons of 110 to 2 gallons of like 93. im thinkin maybe i should just be runnin damn near all race fuel. i think ill try runnin a little more race fuel and see what happens. right now it screams on top, like nothing ive ridden before. its rediculous. if i keep it wrapped out and shift with no clutch, it pulls hard and consistent all the way thru 6th gear. its just when i let off for that split instant to shift is when it gets flat. the bottom seems good as well as the top. so i was thinkin that means needle needs adjusted right? thanks BD for the info. also, where you been lately i havent seen you post much.

you sure they are on the right side?? the srpings shouldnt be that hard to get on. try using some vice grips to pull on them. as for the upper mount, it will pivot, just loosen it up and then line up the bolt holes.

i think you better go out and race some 450's with only those mods on a banshee. on dirt the 450 will take the banshee damn near everytime. on pavement the banshee is gonna have to work real hard. trust me i know.

dude get one. they are sweeeeet. they are great in snow with some studded tires. thats really when i run mine alot since the banshees like to spin the tires a little too much. you dont even have to spend any money on them to make them fast. just pull the airbox lid, rejet and you are done. thats all thats done to mine and it screams.

needle is right in the middle. im thinkin about takin it up one notch and see what happens. the top end is unreal, it pulls forever and i dont eve nhave my rocket pipes on it yet.

real fuckin heavy. i wouldnt ride one if it was given to me. i think they are the biggest, ugliest, slowest quads ever produced. id rather ride a 250ex than a ds650.

im running pwk35's with 170 mains and 48 pilots. its got a toooon of top end, its great. from 1/8 till about 1/2 is iffy tho. i cant tell if its sposed to be like that or not. the power comes on at about 3/4 throttle and if i let off the power drops off. im sure the pilot is right on and so is the main. ive done plug checks and its perfect color. maybe i need to do something with the needles? any ideas? i really wasnt this thing runnin perfect. it is rediculous tho. i was runnin 13/41 gearing with some minor porting and it would take out in 3rd when i dumped it on dirt. now itll spin 4th with 14/41 gearing. its fuckin wild. but yea, any ideas on what to do with the midrange? when im draggin and i clutch it to shift, itll lose power. but when i dont clutch and just shift it hard, its fine. not sure about this.

it sounds to me as if its beyond help. i mean hes already been to rehab and is in trouble with the law. is it really worth the time away from your family to f*ck with the guy? hes an asshole to you and criticizes you it seems on every chance he gets. theres a point at which someone deserves some help, and it seems that time has come and gone. if hes not wlling to help himself then i think you should wash your hands of him.

same thing happened to me. it ended up bein that one of the wires came loose from a coil on the stator. i bet thats your problem. pull your stator cover and check for loose wires,

damn, theres a ton of shit on your site. it looks simple to use and i like that.

raptors are absolutely worthless in a drag race unless they are pretty beefed up. they are too short, narrow and tall to handle well. they feel tippy and personally, i wouldnt own one. put the same money in a stock banshee and a stock raptor and the banshee will walk on it all day.

thanks for the replies guys. ill keep messin with them to see if i can get them to loosen up a little. also, where the cable goes into the top of the carb, is the top screw cap supposed to be connected in any way to the cable itself? i can pull on mine and itll pull the slides up. im thinking this is fine, but i wanna be sure. i dont think it would connect cuz then you couldnt twist the top off. maybe im backwards, help is greatly appreciated!
