  1. sounds to me like t5's are where you wanna be, however i dont think youll notice a really noticeable power gain from them. if you are really wanting something that youll notice id go with cpi, shearer or rocket. but theres a catch. almost everyone i have talked with and heard things from say that shearers are really peaky and hit very hard and dont stop pulling. i doubt thats what you want for trail riding. i have ridden with a guy in the trails that had cpi, he didnt have any problems gettin around. i do know that on my 4mm stroker setup my rockets had more bottom end, torque and hp than the cpi's, but a different setup could be completely different. ive heard good things about rockets on stock bikes, maybe some of them will chime in and let you know what they think.
  2. what year is your bike? are you using the clutch to shift? if so your clutch might be slipping some. if not, i bet your shift parts are just worn out. you can get all new shift parts from FAST racing for prolly about 75 bucks( im guessing), that includes a brand new shift shaft thats modded to make it shift easier. i have it and it works wonders on my 4mm stroker. give Jeff @ FAST a call and see what he has to say. hes a good guy to deal with and will help you out in any way he can. 1 785 364 5325. tell him Tyler Clark sent you.
  3. if i remember right ssr had a 350 that went 3.77 at one point. i dont know what its running now but thats fast as fuck and not much slower than a triple. i still cant see how anyone would really justify spending 15,000 on the motor to make it go a few tenths faster. if you got the money thats cool and all, but for most they could prolly get a 350 or 4mm to go just about as fast.
  4. those look neato. i give you 2 thumbs up!!
  5. umm they are the regular ones. the older ones. not those new mx or xc ones. the lugs are close together but when you cut them they hook even harder. if you leave them alone youll get more slip out of them.
  6. i think you have that backwards. if smaller carbs gave you more on top youd have every engine builder runnin stock carbs on their 10mm strokers. it just doesnt happen. bigger carbs = more on top. in fact, with a 4mm stroker its possible to drain the float bowls if you are WOT for a long time. 4mm suck a lot more gas than a stock motor will. on a 4mm stroker i would recommend no longer than 33mm pwk's.
  7. id have to disagree here. i have a drag ported setup that the rockets made more power on than the cpi's. i will agree that on some setups cpi's would work better but on mine it just so happens the rockets came out on top. this is a 4mm stroker motor as well. the rockets arent just a "play" or "trail" pipe. i love how some people are in denial about that. as for t6's or t5's i would go with t5's over the t6's anyday, even for a stock bike. donoyfz, whats the point of buying t5's for this year and then rockets for next? go ahead and get the rockets and save yourself some time, money and hassle. i have heard they work really well on stock bikes and i know for a fact they work well on heavily ported 4mm stroker motors. even if you dont get rockets, go with cpi and still save yourself the hassle of having to sell pipes and all that bullshit.
  8. i dont know if you are joking or not but when i broke my collar bone on my blaster a few years ago i had bills up to about that much. 3 days in just a regular hospital room was 15,000. im not sure how much the titanium plate and screws on my collar bone were. im guessin they were the most expensive pieces of metal ive ever bought. other than that i got too much in my banshee, oh wait, i have 2...id have to send off to NASA for them to calculate it..
  9. i dont see any point building an engine that big. properly tuned with the right chassis setup, tires, gearing, and rider a 350 will go just as fast..doesnt make sense to spend that kinda money on something when you can build a 350 for next to nothing to go damn near as fast. maybe for sand hillshooting thatd be the way to go, but it seems for the drag racing the smaller motors are running faster times.
  10. its regular threads. mine have never been tight. i dont torque them to anything either. i just put them in snug and thats it. never had any problems with gettin then out either.
  11. def go with the noss head. you dont have to change the studs out or anything and it looks better. plus dave is always around on the site (dlnoss) to answer questions and shit. id say go with 20 cc domes unless you wanna get into where you need to start thinkin about race fuel. t5's are an excellent choice and jetting will be in the 280 to 320 range depending on elevation. pilots should be good at 27.5.
  12. it was stock stroke. 4mm would be badass. the torque would be unreal.
  13. how about a picture of it? generally i have always found that anything with "power" in the title is usually a joke. the power now comes to mind.
  14. i already tried and the pics look like shit. you cant even see in the intakes. you cant really tell anything from the pictures anyway. im emailing you some pictures now tho so u can decide for yourself.
  15. thats why they are discontinuing it, because its a 2 stroke. on the note of other 2 strokes such as weedeaters. i recently went out to buy another stihl fs85 weedeater. its a 2 stroke. well guess what, stihl discontinued them and its replacement is a 4 stroke that uses 2 stroke pre mix...wtf? does that make sense? oh well.
  16. big bore single 2 stroke...do something wild. be different from everyone else. thats what id do anyway
  17. oh yea its for sure worth a lot more than that. if you were having a big name builder do it the porting alone would cost you almost that much. hell this comes with pistons and the domes needed for it. its def a fast setup, just dont need it now that im keepin the cubs. thanks for the good words!!
  18. thats a really good point. when i replaced my clutch with the streetbike clutch from FAST racing i went ahead and replaced the basket and inner and outer hubs. what a world of difference this made. its not always just the clutch thats the problem. if you buy a clutch and throw it in you might get by for a few weeks but if your other parts are worn, that clutch wont last long. how old is your banshee? 1997 im guessing? if so id say its time to replace those clutch parts. FAST racing stocks all that stuff as well.
  19. thats what id do.

  21. my bro bought one here a while back for 1800 bucks. it had some pretty radical porting and ran real good. he traded it off for his gsxr600.
  22. i have seen some pretty nice zillas but the banshee is the best bang for your buck. if i was gonna do it id scrapthe lt500 engine and use a cr500 engine.
  23. i gaurantee thats what he thinks. he thinks the 80 over is 80 more cc's.
