  1. 10mm and be done with it.
  2. Pay no attention to the line on the case. Just adjust the clutch on the perch and at the pressure plate and disregard where the clutch arm is in relation to the cases. I've found the easiest way to adjust the clutch is to start at the pressure plate. Then adjust at the lever.
  3. Well I didn't do as well as I wanted in the 2-stroke class. I had a shitty first run and came off the bike in the second. I did however, win a National championship in the 4-stroke class on a borrowed bike that I have never ridden before. I actually won it off my first run ever on the bike. Not too bad I guess. It's a 523cc YFZ. It definitely runs hard. I beat about 25 other riders, 10 or so of which have some pretty fast bikes with street bike motors in them.
  4. 380 main sounds way too big. Have you done a WOT plug test? 30 pilot may actually be a little rich. Does the bike idle OK? Does it come off idle without a lot of hesitation?
  5. Plug chops are not necessary at all. In my 10 years of riding Banshees I have never done a plug chop. Save your money and your plugs.
  6. Agreed. I don't understand people who build big powerful motors and then gear them up to 15/41. It makes no sense. The whole reason for building a big motor is to have more power to turn more gear.
  7. 2011 BansheeHQ Sponsor T-Shirts now in stock! Check the BansheeHQ Gear Forum for details!

  8. What are you trying to accomplish?
  9. You have aftermarket pipes right? Then you need to stay with 27.5 pilot. This really isn't a guessing game.
  10. 300 is probably still to rich, but if it's running pretty good now I wouldn't risk blowing anything up. Wait until you can do a WOT plug check. No need for a plug chop. Once you determine if the main is rich or not, go from there. Don't even mess with the needle until the main is spot on.
  11. I would literally die on an LT80.
  12. Suspended bikes FTW!! Does yours weigh 400 pounds like mine?
  13. I didn't say it was a bad thing!
  14. So there are only two possible explanations for this.. 1. You're scared to death to go fast now. 2. Your new boo says no. I'm leaning towards #2. Look who's talking Mr. I run around in my wife's underwear at the dunes!
  15. Because it weighs 400 pounds and if I break it before hillclimb season is over I'm screwed.
  16. You don't need to ruin a set of plugs to check the jetting. Just check the color on the strap. Start with clip in the middle spot.
  17. Too heavy and they won't hook on take off from a dead stop. None of the Maxxis or ITP tires are worth a fuck on a Banshee. I proved that years ago with tons of testing all of them before I found the right combo for hillclimbing. It's unfortunate that they dupe kids into thinking they're the best because they buy huge ads in Dirtwheels and other ATV mags. The reality is that those tires are fucking junk. Overweight, overpriced and they just don't hook. Sure, throw them on a 40HP 4 stroke and they seem awesome.
  18. I want to race stockers with my 18DM.
  19. I'm pretty sure I was sleeping when that went down.
  20. Yes and yes. And get some tires. Unfortunately, I don't think you can get them anymore. Everywhere that was selling them no longer stocks them. You might be able to find a set if you dig deep on the internet, but good luck finding them with ease.
  21. Get your mains set and go from there. I'd throw 300's in it and do a plug check. Leave the pilot at 27.5 and put the clip in the middle of the needle. Last, from idle, stab the throttle and see what it does. Adjust the air screw accordingly so that there is no bog or hesitation when you stab the throttle off idle.
  22. Absolutely do not gear any lower. You will be losing by even more than you are now. I run dirt hillclimbs here in the Midwest and I know a thing or two about getting a big motor to hook up in the dirt. You need to be doing 2nd gear launches with about 4PSI in the rear tires. You should be running a set of 20" tires in the rear. There are a few different tires that will hook hard in dirt.. Unfortunately, I think some of them have been discontinued. You want to stay away from ANY of the Razr or Holeshot type tires. They're heavy, overrated and overpriced. You might want to give these a try.. http://farmandsandtoys.com/partdetail.asp?partid=174
  23. What exactly is the bike doing? The pilot is right on. Have you adjusted the air screws at all? I assume you've done a WOT plug check and the plugs look ok? That main sounds pretty high considering you have a stock port motor.
  24. You don't need more power. You need more traction. There is no reason you shouldn't be stomping both of those bikes.
