  1. You can use the new Cheetah cub cylinders with no baseplate or cut domes with a 4 mill stroker. But then it wouldn't be a secret would it.
  2. The lower bearing is held in by a threaded piece. You need a nut that fits in it to back it out. If you look at it with the top seal out, you will see what I mean. Most any hardware store for the nut.
  3. I've never seen a yellow mitchel, I mean Douglas.
  4. How about Shearers for the dunes.
  5. Beilieve it or not, Type F fluid has friction modifiers in it (like a grit). In the early years, Ford clutches (in automatics) didn't have much traction. GM clutches, on the other hand, had a better grip, so thats why they used Dex. Go to B&M or Art Carr sites and read all about it.
  6. Your gonna need a coil to fire that plug also. The 12 volts ain't going to do it.
  7. Type F ATF since 87. Tearing into the tranny for the first time right now. Looks like almost no wear. I'm even gonna reuse the clutch.
  8. Yes it is a good 10th scale car. Lots of bodies fit too.
  9. My stock bushings are not even really plastic. They seem to be some type of bak-o-lite. Kinda crumble like clay.
  10. Thanks guys, I just pressed out my 1987 stock bushings. They look new and are tight still. Thats what grease and only riding in the dunes will do for ya. Who said sand is hard on a rig?
  11. Do J arms use the same bushings as an arms or does it use a longer one?
  12. Hey guys, lets throw the Shearers in the mix. Top 3 pipes, head to head, I'd like to know. Thanks for even doing the dynoing. I know it costs you money. Thanks again.
  13. That underseat tank was custom built.
  14. CloneDVD with AnyDVD. Or DVD43 instead of AnyDVD..
  15. Remember, the bigger the generator, the more fuel its gonna use. The nice Honda and Yamaha's are sumwhat smart, in that they will idle up and down for the load, to save fuel. Exhaust isn't the only thing that is loud. I have a 4000 Onan that I built a custom exhaust that I could run into a hole in the ground to quiet it down. The exhaust was almost silent, but the gear noise from the generator was just as loud, Kinda like a Pete Jackson gear drive. Again, you get what you pay for.
  16. I just bought a Yamaha 1000 gen. Quieter than the Honda. $600. Will not run your ac. But will charge your batterys and run some stuff. The 3000 Yamaha is quiet and powerful and expensive. $2000.You do get what you pay for here.
  17. Do the stock airbox tabs interfere with K&N pod filters? I'm gonna cut the stock pipe "bumper" tabs, the lower front fender arm mounts and whatever else off that I don't need before I go to the powdercoater. Anything else I might want to look at?
  18. It will get loud and possibly loose power.
  19. I'm runnin the stock line on mine. But I have the risers to move the bars forward, not up, so they don't hit the ims tank.. My stock line wont work if I raise my bars.
  20. Has anyone tried one of these? http://www.gtechpro.com/index.html I know you wouldn't be able to use the horsepower readings to brag with, but could'nt you test and tune with it?
  21. How about powdercoating your axle?
  22. I already know that these pipes a pretty much equal in the power dept. What I need to know is how loud (db) these pipes are with there own brand silencers. The green police (sound nazi's) are getting really tough on the pocketbook here on the Oregon Coast.
  23. Front bottom of motor. 2 bolts and the power cable nut to remove.
  24. Yep, need a set. Still running the stock ones from 1990. Lasted way longer than I would have ever thought.
  25. I did a search looking for amplink bearing part numbers, but the posts must have been lost. Anyone have the numbers? Thanks.
