  1. Can anyone see the pic? It was there one minute now its gone. I even tried it over in the images forum thinking it could be a problem with this specific forum. why do some of my pics work and others don't? I think its the HQ cause i don't have any problem w/ imagestation.
  2. I'm not sure if anyone can answer this cause it seems after calling around everywhere no one knows how to get a banshee carb boot to fit my 28 PWK's. They all admit they won't fit but don't have a clue what to do. O.K. enough Dennis Miller. Now I notice on my new carb there looks to be a power jet intake? What is that brass nipple? Its an air leak for what I can see, I don't have a power jet nor had i planned or plan to run one. Anyone have a clue what it is?
  3. trail is XC, basically
  4. Get some washers to hold the slave unit a little further away from the clutch lever. Make sure you leave a little play or the pushrod will bend.
  5. I just got my 28 Pwk's but they don't fit my stock carb boots. I called up UPP, and they said that they don't make boots for the 28 pwk. I've done a search here and on the net but I cannot find them. Where can I get them? Need these ASAP. Thanks. The title should say 28 PWK's
  6. If I remember right the side that the stock side doesn't have a bearing this one does (the side away from the shift star). That's the only difference Shift Cam

    I Like It!

First thing i thought when I saw the sand section was cool where's the Cross country section then noticed it doesn't exist. I think it was a personal slap in the face Meat!! I'm just kidding I'm sure Lee will have it for us soon....I hope.
  8. Not worth it! I needed a new one so I ordered this one from them, it actually seems to shift notchier. The shift star isn't even modded. I would just get one off ebay if you need a new one.
  9. I saw it too. About two seconds before I thought to myself they never show banshee then you rode by.
  10. Any date after May is bad for me, I rotate to my next duty station mid June. I'll be off to Wright-Patterson Air FARCE base in Dayton, Ohio. Woohooo. I guess the first weekend in June would be doable for me, we'll see how the wife feels about me going away for the weekend before Household Goods shows up to pack up our stuff and move us 800 miles. This is her first move with the good ol NAV!
  11. I just want to give you all a heads up that my 2 into 1 setup will be going on ebay later this week or next week. I'm waiting for my twin 28 PWK's to arrive for my stroker motor first. I will post the link when I do. I'll have pictures but here is what I'm selling. When I say setup I mean setup! I'm selling my 33mm PWK carb, trinity 2 into 1 manifold (new version), the airbox setup which includes the aluminum flange already mounted, tabs cut for easy installation, pro flow intake (2 months old), brand new filter used a couple times with the outerwear. I will also include the clamp on filter with outerwear that was used only once. I will also include a huge assortment of jets. I will include the pilots from 35 to 52! I will also inlude main jets from I think 162 to somewhere around 180 (I'll be exact when I put it up). The jets alone are an $80 value. Some are still in the packaging I bought them in. I'm selling this setup with a starting bid of $420. With the jets included you should have no problem dialing in this setup for your shee. .
  12. I'd be down with the second weekend in March, my motor should be back by the end of feb. then I'm on break from Mar 5th to the 15th.
  13. I commend all of you who tried to help. Myself I would never help this Donkey.
  14. Here is my thread on the one I built. But it looks like imagestation has gone to sH@# so there is no picture. Tester
  15. Nyuk nailed it. I got my first street bike last year and its a 2003 R6. If you ride a banshee there is no way a 600 will be too much. I remember when I bought my bike it was silly fast at first but then I just got used to it. I mean its still fast you just get acustomed to it. Just like the shee. Put pipes on and wow this thing is insane. Then you get used to it so you port it, then you stroke or big bore or both. You just learn how to ride the power. Personally I don't believe any bike is too much bike. If I were to buy an R1 does that mean I have to do 160 everywhere I go? I rode my buddies 2003 Gsxr1000 last year w/ no problem because I rode it within my capabilities. I can rip wheelies on my R6 easily but I know trying to rip a wheelie on the 1000 the same way would flip me over backwards. I know its a long answer for an easy question but I just think a 500 is for someone with no motorcycle skills at all. You obviously have the most important skills already which is 1 down five up, you already know how to shift, you use mostly front brake when stopping (when you get more experience you can learn how to brake hard into corners so you don't low side or worse high side). The rest is watcing out for the other morons on the street.
  16. For trails it absolutely kicks ass. My buddy's 400Ex used to be able to keep me in site in the tight trails but with the 2 into 1 I have to pull over and wait up to make sure he hadn't crashed. This has caused him to put a down payment on the 450r (wants the interchangeable parts w/ 400EX) so he can keep up with me. I've gone to a stroker now so we'll have to see what happens. My setup is going on ebay in a few weeks because I need to go to dualies with my porting and stroker.
  17. Good timing on this post. I went to put my stock steering stem back on and take my tank out to remove my jugs for porting. This is when I noticed the frame is smashed up against the fuel tank So now my back end is bent from my six pack rack (no big deal) and the front is bent from my rollover. How do I pull it out and how do I make sure its straight? Where can I get my frame straightened professionally if that's what I need? How much will it cost? If its not too expensive I'd like to have my frame straightened and gusseted.
  18. Meat, Did you have to steal my thunder? Last night I was going to write the exact same thing but I decided I'll just do it tomorrow. I was one of those concerned about the moderating of this site, and I'm very very happy to say that I'm so far please with the results. I just want to thank you moderators for helping keeping the HQ the best forum on the net. I think with all the BT and EX stuff going on it really shows how much freedom we have here, and an overmoderated forum is just lame. So good work keeping the HQ up and running.
  19. I've been on the season ticket list for the Pats for 11 years now. It looks like my wait is just getting longer now that the PATS ARE A DYNASTY I guess I'll just have to keep begging my parents for theirs, hope I finally get mine by the time I retire from the military.
  20. I feel the same way as banshee04le. God bless you guys over there. Stay safe and come home soon.
  21. Holyman, I'd agree with you up to a point. You're right there is gonna be some corruption out there no matter who is in office (or CEO). But I can't believe you want to revert back to "isolationism". Where did that get us? Two world wars! Our current policies are somewhat due to the "Munich syndrome" but mostly we have learned that sitting back doing absolutely nothing gets us nowhere. Should we have continued appeasing Saddam just as we did Hitler with the Sudatinland (sp?). I hear all this antiwar rhetoric but I never ever hear a solution. My favorite is the "Let's talk w/ him". Say we left him in power for another 10 years, do you think his hatred of us would just go away. Eventually we would come to a war with him, and that eventually it would have meant thousands of our soldiers being killed rather than hundreds. I'm not for starting wars but 9/11 was due to the fact that the terrorists thought we were a bunch of panzies and we wouldn't respond. They figured we'd just give up and leave the middle east cause we were scared. I'm glad Bush showed them we're not. Its funny how quickly Libya came around. For those who don't know the Munich syndrome is our (all allies from WWII) never back down attitude since WWII. Hitler said I just want that little teeny tiny place called the Sudatinland, so we said o.k. just just don't start a war. He said yup, he he he, the next thing he was rolling tanks thorugh Poland and France. I honestly believe Saddam was pulling the same trick. He may have gotten rid of his weapons (there is absolutely no doubt he once had them) then once we turned our backs saying good job Saddam you disarmed, he'd work secretly to his ultimate goal, a nuke. He'd probably try to get Israel. If he did and they got wind it was Saddam Israel would just nuke the whole country of Iraq (they threatened to do it in the first Gulf War). Next thing you know we got WW3 w/ nukes lobbing around, hoping that Pakistan and India don't get involved because they are becoming contaminted by the radioactive fallout. Where do I get such crazy idea? There is this thing called war gaming and it goes on every year at college conferences around the country. This is what happened at one that I went to. These things are overseen by some heavy hitters and they are very precisely coontrolled. I've been told by upper level military that these always came close to their own war gaming at the Naval War College in Newport. A funny story about one war game(real military war game). Even though we are "friends with russia" we still war game scenario's with them. So the U.S. goes to war with russia and the russians decide to use chem weapons, so the U.S. dons their suits. Well, the U.S. only has 300,00 so after a few hours they are almost gone. The general orders up more suits, right then the guy from FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) says U.S. you've lost everyone is dead. The general says I ordered new suits. Well in order to make these new suits the U.S. needed this very special needle that was specially heated in order to make these suits. Where was the only place you could get it? You guessed it, Russia! Obviouosly we now make them a different way. Another thing I learned was that we got all our Titanium to build the SR-71 from the USSR, I thought that was kind of ironic.
  22. Holyman, You are saying exactly what most people think. You think a president can affect an economy in 8 MONTHS? Its just not true. I'm telling you go grab a macroeconomics book and check it out for yourself, it takes years for an economy to recover. I've had 4 different econ classes with 4 diff. profs but all agree no matter what party they are that Bush and reagan were the reason for the 90's prosperity. Ator, Just because I use my knowledge to make a point doesn't make me a diehard republican. I obviously disagree with Presidant's Bush's tax cuts because like I said taxes create GDP which in turn is the bench mark of our success as a country. Bush knows that if he were to raise taxes right now we'd have a shit fit as a country so he does the next best thing which is to cut taxes. Here's a very simplied reason. Tax cuts are O.k. for the economy because it dumps money into the economy, it really isn't for the individual relief, its so that individual buy a good or service. This stimulates growth, but doesn't create jobs. It does however give us a little bump to help start on a natural recovery. Grab an econ book and see how cyclical our economy is. We were at an abnormally high peak in the 90's but we are not even close to the top troughs in the cycle right now. The reason raising taxes is better for the economy is it creates jobs as well as growth. I think people sometimes forget that the tax money we pay isn't just lost, it goes back into the economy. With higher taxes more teacher's, firefighters, and cops can be hired. That's not even the begining of things that happened with the increase in taxes back in the early 90's. It would take an entire Thesis paper to explain the rest. Ator, if you thought I meant people like me in the military would benefit from building planes, ships, etc. (you say those of you) you're wrong. i have a job whether there are 10 aircraft carriers or 30, it doesn't affect my salary. Have you really though about how many people are affected by building an AC. Someone has to make all those parts, make the wiring, create the steel, design computer systems. You say "you who reap the benfits". I don't think you really understand how truly complex the economy is. We all reap those benefits. BTW, this is a lesson in econ not politcs, I wish we could separate the two and have a CEO of the country and a president. Do you really think GW is responsible for a factory worker or computer enginer losing his job? Do you really believe that? If you do I have a $2000 Drag Banshee on ebay for you. Also, its not just planes, ships that the gov buys with taxes, it also buys paper computers, the list goes on forever.
  23. My only two cents is this. For those who think the economy was good during the Clinton years, you must thank Reagan and Bush Sr. It was Reagan spending (GDP!! remember economics class) and GB taxes that boosted the economy. Bush Sr lost his job for a good economy. He said "No new taxes" then down the road he was faced with a problem, he knew he had to raise taxes to help the economy. He did it knowing it was good for the country and it cost him a second term. I'm so tired of hearing the blah blah about how Bush jr has destroyed our economy when this is fallout from the Clinton era. Believe it or not but making a deficit is a good thing to do during these times. When the gov. spends, where does the money go????? Uh, hmm, US the workers. The more ship, planes, tanks, whatever the gov. spend its money on the more workers are needed to build this stuff. Reagan's military buildup in the 80's is what sparked our prosperity in the 90's. The Dems came along and cut cut cut then now look at our economy. Whether I do or don't support Bush this is the way it is. You can't blame Bush for the economy.
  24. Thanks for all the help.
