I'm not sure of the compression yet, I can't check it cause its probably on a UPS truck on its way to my house right now!!!! Woohoo!! X-mas in April!! I never drag race anyway so you could probably beat me on an 80cc dirtbike It's the full race motor, cases matched, +4 mil LR MX porting, 40 over pistons, and a 15:1 (I think) compression ratio. Since Dan talks about compression ratios rather than numbers I'm not sure on the exact comp. He did say that C-12 is the best gas to run on his 2 stroke race motors. O.K. yeah I just calculated your at about 14:1 (maybe thats what he said) so I think you could run C-12 (I'll check with Dan), Anyone else interested in race fuel? So looks like we can order through RustyRider and it'll be good to go. Rustyrider, can you get us a quote on 30 and 55 gal drum? I'm gonna email Dan ASAP about the 205 comp w/ C-12 assuming its good I think we'll put our order in. Thanks!

I'm looking for a pair of fender supports.
-
I should have cleaned them up but they just look dirty from some normal carbon and oily residue. I didn't use the gasket kit that came with them either so that would be included.
-
I got a set of barely used 40 over Vito's power pistons. I had to take them out when I went to a 4 mil long rod stroker. I thought they kicked ass and seemed to add bottom end grunt. I'll grab pics, they were run for 3 or 4 rides at most. All you would need to do is buy new rings and they are cheap. You could run the rings on them but you should really get a new set so they seat to your cylinders.

Chase73, I need to run at least C-12 which i think is 108 (Dan told me C-12 is good for me that's all I really know). So I'd be willing to chip in for a 30 gallon drum of C-12 or better race gas. You figure were gonna each run through at LEAST 5 gals a day, probably more. So you figure 10 gals a piece for the weekend which would be 30 gals for us 3. Buying in bulk will be cheaper for us. I can look into ordering up the drum then split it three ways when we get there. If more people are interested we could go for a 55 Gal drum.

BansheeBrian, I'd like to see the schedule. I wouldn't mind checking them out.

Whatever Happened To The Oldhead Hqer`s?
mcaf29 replied to NYUK's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Meat, I was wondering the SAME thing. He was the first person I bought something from on this forum. Come to think of I have no clue what it was. Well, $20,000 later I guess you forget! -
I'm in the same boat as BansheeBrian, I'm 27 years old and by the time I get a chance to ride I'll be a Commisioned Officer in the U.S. Navy so I'm looking for legal riding. I too would be bringing a couple riding buddies, but not likely before May 1st.

Go to www.newegg.com, free shipping and mostly oem stuff. That just means stuff such as the processors don't come with pretty boxes and its 25 bucks cheaper. On a build you cannot beat their prices especially with the free 2-3 day shipping!! I searched the net for hours only to come back to newegg for the best prices.

Its not law here in MA but the general guideline is if you T-bone someone from center to front its their fault, if you hit em aft of the passenger compartment its your fault (state believes you could have manuveured in this situation). Since we are both no fault states its probably the same. I think you'll be found not at fault because you hit him dead center. Here i've never heard a person faulted for a dead center hit (unless they ran a redlight or stop sign). Take it for what its worth.

How soon and what condition you looking for? I mean do you care about the paint job? I have a 2000 with a bent steering loop but B370 and I are going to fix it. I live in MA so you could pick it up. The reason I ask whether the condition matters is after we straighten it I was going to PC it and sell it. Obviously if you don't care I'll set it for less than I would if I have it PC'd. If you're interested I can talk to B370 and see when we can do this (I'm actually meeting up with him this weekend). I have all papers including title from last owner (MA doesn't title). Trust me when B370 and I are done the frame will be in like new condition (geometry wise), ask anyone here he knows his stuff. If interested email me at [email protected]

Man, i'm glad your ok cause that coulda been bad. On a lighter note I was just cracking up at that picture. I was picturing some guy with a staple gun coming up to you right after it happened and stapling your head while saying, "all set back to work!" Hope you didn't pay for those.

Looking To Get A Crotch Rocket
mcaf29 replied to joshdagreat56's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Anything can be a wheelie monster if you learn how to ride it. I can bounce up or clutch up a wheele on my R6 no problem. Even on a liter bike you're gonna notice clutching up is WAY more predictable than just romping on the gas and hoping the front will come up. I doubted this myself, my buddy who is a redonkulous rider kept telling me to clutch it up, but I was nervous about looping it. He got on it went down the street and in front of me and some buddies clutched it to a 12 oclock wheelie all the way down my street. He had never ridden my bike or an R6 for that matter, its just that the principle is the same whether he was riding his 900RR (says it the best stunting bike he's owned) or my R6. You really should look at where you ride like everyone else said. I live in New England so there are no long flat stretches of road. The guy I ride with mostly rides a GSXR1000 '03, its the fastest bike I've ever ridden but I still outrun him whenever I want. Its great that its fast but we are never in the situation to hit 160 to 180 mph. I can go into corners faster and accelerate out faster with my 600 while he's gotta get hard on the brakes cause you'll lowside a corner running a heavy liter bike into a fast corner (or worse high side it). In my area so far my 03 R6 is the fastest bike in my group for the type of riding we do. Sure if we get on the Mass Pike they "could" do 180 while i can only do 160 but that hasn't happened yet. Also, on the gsxr 750, i've beat them pretty handily too, especially the pre-2000's. trust me, the 600 technology post 2001 is far from the old 600's. BTW, I haven't raced any highly modded 750's so I'm not sure about those. The R6 also took first and 3rd at Laguna Seca. -
I really would like the pingel to clean it up in a little in that area. I'll only be running a 4 mil stroker w/ a Patriot Mx port so I figure might as well dish out the cash while its still flowing. I want it because I also want to run a fuel filter for each line, I hate using the branch setup. Thanks for the replies.
-
I read here that someone said Pingel sells dual fuel valves with a reserve. Anyone know if this is true? I'd like to go with the dualie but don't want to lose the reserve. I carry extra gas but usually the gallon I carry plus the reserve have helped get me home many times.

yeah, get a lasa, I love mine.

DuneDemon I agree, I just explained the idea behind it. I don't think it enough adavantage to do anything, it may be a quick way to lower the shee about .00014 inches but nothing noticable. BTW, yes i followed you as I just finished up Advanced dynamics for my degrees in Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering. Now I'm off to get my Master's in aerospace at Wright-Patterson AFB.

I agree with MotulMonsta, he's talking about unsprung weight vs. sprung weight. O.K look at a shock, it has one end that holds all the oil, has the larger spring in a dual/triple rate system, the other end has the smaller spring and only has the shaft attached to the eyelet. Now take the shock and try to balance it horizontally in your hand, you'll notice that you have to have your hand closer to the part that holds the oil to keep it from tilting and falling on the floor. Now you see this side is the heavier side of the shock. Now, when you put it on your shee like normal, the lower part is the heavier side which means the lighter is attached to the frame. When you hit a bump the wieght of the rider, upper frame, and the upper eyelet weight, shafts weight all create a force (F=ma) into the lower part of the shock through the springs. Now flip that shock upside down, you hit a bump and the weight of the rider and frame hasn't changed but now you have that heavier end of the shock pushing downwards into the smaller end, so since F=ma (mass is now greater) the downward force is now greater than the other setup. So now that you can see how the top of a shock is sprung and the bottom is unsprung. By flipping the shock upside down you have more sprung weight (not sure if its really significant) but that's the physics of it.

I see what you're saying now Boonman.
-
Boonman, not sure if I understand what you mean. Here in MA collision is for when you crash your car, and need a new one (basically the idea). My wife pays $800 a year for her 2004 Jeep Liberty w/ full coverage so if she (or me) rolls it or totals it into a tree, they pay the loan out (you need to make sure they do this, some pay market value!). So I'm not sure what you mean about no difference between a 2003 BMW and a 1976 Datsun. Here in MA it would be about $24,000 out our pockets! I don't carry full coverage on my 94 B4000 though cause it wouldn't be worth it. I'm not trying to be the "knob" just want to see if collision is the same in NY. MA law requires a redonkulous amount of liability so that would cover the nuns but it would not replace the bimmer. Another note on insurance in MA, all the listed Companies I've used when moving around in the Nav but none of them (except maybe allstate but limited) operate in MA, no Geico, Progressive, you name the big name insurnce CO. and they probably don't operate here. When Commerce insurance canceled my house insurance they did offer a number to call to get insurance from some other Co. but that CO. now does not cover house with ATV's either.
-
I just got a cancelation notice for my house insurance. They said effective Jan 2nd they will not cover anyone who has an ATV on the premises!! I called around and it appears that almost all the insurance Co. in MA have gone that route. They will cover me till April 8th then I'm dropped. They will also dop you if you have a trampoline on the premises, I'm so glad I'm outta here in a few months.

Yeah "." your just a new guy!! HAHA HA I saw that and I was thinking "uh ooohh!" Guess he'd have no clue what I meant when I said "remember the old 54 days?" Its a general topic in a general forum, so what's the problem? You could have chose like me to skip it (originally). I came here cause I noticed there were 4 pages so I knew it had have gotten heated. I think the code was pretty funny myself but again I had the choice not to read it. It was my CHOICE. "Freedom of Speech" is wriitten in blood, and we take it very seriously here at the HQ.

I'm not sure about them being set up for alcohol. I just ordered 28 PWK's from Pro flow figuring they're all the same. I'll give them a call. The boiling sounds like a good idea but that just aggrivates me cause I was hoping to set up for trails and MX. I wanted to be able to quickly pull the airbox (even got an aftermarket one), put on clamp ons, rejet, throw on my MX tires and thats it. Now its gonna be a project to put the airbox back on everytime. BTW, what is the deal with pics? Is it imagestation? Are there any other free image hosting sites. I know my pics are there and i know I did it correctly here.
