I got my motor together with my new stroker motor, and I want to hear the ways everyone is breaking their motors in. I've gone by the clymer manual break-in w/ very poor luck so I wanna get this one right. The clymer seems too short. It basically gives you a couple heat cycles then you're ripping on it. It also says to mix 24:1. I have 2-R for the break-in and plan to jet way rich for now then I'll worry about performance a couple hours down the road. Any recommendations.

Forgot about these too: stock carrier w/ brand new bearings and seals (the bearings are in my freezer ready to install) stock sprocket hub stock brake hub stock tightening nuts I also have a stock axle that is mushroomed on the left side. If anyone has machining skills or wants it as a core I'm selling for super cheap. Say $25 plus shipping. Just need to get it out of here so when the Navy moves me I don't have excess weight. I can get a pic of the damage.

Here's the swingarm. There are no dents. cracks or bends. Here's the rear shock. Both adjustments move very easily and looks good except a little dirty just didn't have time to clean up really well.

So I'm just gonna flatten the ends of the screws right? I'm gonna go to sears or HD to get a punch tonight. Any recommendations? Should I get one? Get a set? I love tools. Can't have too many tools. Just can't spend too much on them right now since I got all this work going on me banshee.

I looking to get $100 for it. Its in really good shape. I can grab a pic if interested. It always felt good to me, I was just at K&K one day getting my new front shocks and arms and decide to get an axis rear shock and LSR swingarm while I was there. Now I need the cash to hook the motor up. Banshee = broke. I also forgot to list: Stock intakes Stock reeds and cages Reed spacers

Well, I read the directions to install my new basket, and I have to peen the screws? It says to use punch but what size punch. I have a ball peen hammer but no punch. So does that mean I should flatten the screw against the plate. Anyone who has done this please let me know. Also it says use new red locktite cause it has a shelf life. I have some that's 10 months old, I have good size botle so I hope its still good. How long is too long?

O.K. I'm selling these, but before anyone moves the post to the for sale forum let me plead my case. The for sale forum is for people who need to sell or need to buy. Here I'm offering these 40 overbore pistons for $130 plus Shipping. So if you are not in the market for these at the time but may be soon. Now is your chance to save $10. Woohoo, hey its something. These are so new UPS hasn't even dropped em off at my door yet. I'm gonna run 795 pistons instead cause i got a LR stroker now. So if you're on a 30 bore and you might be rebuilding this winter let me know.

Boonman, hope you didn't miss understand, For now the mods are cool. I was saying it has the "potential" to become that kind of environment. I think alot of us are looking down the road at this site, so we're trying to do some preventive maintenance before it becomes BT. These types of threads are great cause its almost like voting, you get to voice your opinion on the way you'de like to see things run. If it doesn't turn out the way you'd liked then hey thats life and at least you've expressed your opinion. This is at least how I feel about the whole deal. Maybe others have larger concerns.

I guess I've been here long enough to chime in in this. Even though I still got no sig (wow I'm lazy). The mods that I've seen so far are really good people on this forum, and personally I haven't seen power go to anyones head. Now here comes the big but....As a member of the military I've seen all too well the way power can go to people's heads, it will rear its head. I think the gripe here is that We come here cause its like this free flowing free thinking site on a subject we love. We are so moderated in our everyday lives its nice to come by here and think that we are not. To me its kinda like we are all sittin around my living room drinking beer, discussing Banshees (a forum allows you to do this at 3 a.m. even when the rest of the board may be sleeping). Now throw someone in there who's job it is to make sure we follow correct procedure, and it kills the atmosphere. I can't even stand to go to BT because of that. I read two posts and its all search this or wrong forum, blah blah. This sight has modded itself for years. If someone posts in the wrong forum a senior member usually says hey take it over there (doesn't actually move the post). I've seen posts in the wrong forum and a member would say here's your answer but next time use such and such a forum. I think once I see the first locked thread on this site, it will be my last. If you say its to prevent racial slurs and what not, how many instances has that happened here? Of those few times the core users of this forum came together to say that's friggin Unsat here, go away. So it now goes from a pretty much self-governing body to a police state. It kills the comradery. Boonman and Screamin are really great guys (obviously why they were picked) so they are now our "superiors". Again I make military references but its true. There's a reason why enlisted and officers are not suppose to hang out together. The establishing of the mods has given the board a sense of separation, and I think its only a matter of time......

I have a stock swingarm for sale. I took this off to put the -2 swingarm on. I'm looking for $50. If you contact Mrmatt I can send it to him to cut and you'll have a minus 2 swingarm for about $150. You can then sell your stocker to help recoup your cost and you only lose a few hours of riding time to switch them out. Let me know before it goes to e-bay.

Alright sounds good

Where's the best place to get a set of metric stud removers. Would Sears carry it?
-
Where have I been? This post got to be 6 pages long and I read it for the first time this morning 2004 stole my thunder. I was thinking "Jeeerrry, Jeeeerrrry, Jeeeeerrrry" Its so funny how you can tell ages here. Kids- bitch bitch whine whine blah blah she likes him so and so doesn't like her, sign off with peace, love and hair grease (my gf used to say this when I was 15) Old men like me (27) -send some pics of you in a cheerleading outfit (nice idea Meat very nice) It is true if one says they are hot they must prove it! At our age its the little things in life that count.

Sweet, good idea on the easy out. About the impact wrench. Won't the impact wrench just spin the top nut off? Do I have to get a stud remover in order to use the impact wrench?
-
O.K. I was trying to remove a broken bolt for my buddies 400EX bumper. Well I snapped the bolt extractor, it was a #2!! And I did it using a tap wrench. We couldn't believe it when it snapped. So how do I get that piece out. We're gonna just drill out the hole and retap it, but you can't drill the hardend easy out. What do I do? Also, I need to remove the studs from my case. I tried doing the one nut on top of the other trick but those studs were not budging. I also applies heat but was careful not to apply too much since the casing is Al. How do I remove them?

I too love 927, take a look in the images at my crank, its not gummed up at all after a year of riding. I have a question about old premix. I got a tank full of 927 mix but I'm rebuilding my motor so I gotta run 2r for the break in. Can I really throw that premix in my truck to burn. Let me first say my truck is a POS and I don't care too much about it just that it won't clog the fuel injectors and die. I figure it doesn't clog tiny pilot jets so it shouldn't clog the injectors. I've also had that question about 4 stroke ATV's. One day my buddy needed gas for his raptor but I only had premix. We ended up siphoning gas from my R6. Could he have run the premix in his raptor?
-
cool, cause I actually have a roll in my garage.. thanks.
-
I just meant that the gaskets were alot wider(more surfeace area) than the regular intake gaskets. I should have snapped a pic. Maybe I got em still (I know they ripped though).
-
I will tonight. I've haven't had a chance to take one and post it yet.

I'm looking for $100 plus shipping. It is half silver half primer. I never got the chance to paint it. I'll throw a pic up if you're still interested.

I got a stock swingarm that is cut to -2 for sale. I bought the swingarm from Minkia38 and had Mrmatt cut it. I absolutely loved it. I loved it so much I went to an LSR -2 swingarm (for the honda style carrier and LSR package deal w/ arms). It needs to be painted or powder coated because it was primered over the welds to protect them. I only ran it once and my bearings let go in my carrier (they were going anyways). If you are a member of this board you know Mrmatt does immacualte work. I also have the carrier available w/ new bearings and seals. If anyone is interested I can get pics. Make me a reasonable offer.
