  1. You're getting off cheap. Trust me.
  2. Couldn't really tell if you were saying this or not...but coolant raises the water temperature. So the less coolant you run, the cooler your motor will be. Coolanol is alright, but stains.
  3. I personally wouldn't deal with Inlands ATV. They have screwed me and my friends a few times. If you are looking for good prices call John at Sandtoys Unlimited. He'll get you everything you need. Then send those parts out to the builder of your choice to have it ported.
  4. Perfect analogy. I would compare the banshee to a mustang if anything.
  5. Straight water in my drag bikes and 50/50 in my mx bikes.
  6. I wouldn't base the health of our machines off on one inept shop. I have a local parts store that literally has every part to rebuild a 250r or banshee motor. Little on aftermarket stuff, but who pays retail+ for aftermarket parts from a brick and mortar shop...
  7. And you aren't the only one who has tried injection...
  8. I would actually be much more interested in why you think you don't need one.
  9. Don't use a press to put the new ones in. It can walk sideways and ruin the bearing/carrier.
  10. Needs a plenum. Plain and simple.
  11. You can actually add an input and an output on the hex pumps. I have to run two pumps and two oversized cast bowls (bigger than the billet bowls) on my 760 in 300 feet. Otherwise there is not enough fuel supply.
  12. No reason not to run a pump. Of course you should be running one. Depending on your motor you "may" not need one. But is it worth gambling your weekend and top end on? Course not.
  13. Depends if your friends have a true 75 horse. If so, it'll take a 370 if you're on a budget (used), or a puma if you can afford it. The 370 will be a little behind them, and the puma will most likely beat them if set up right. Pumas are making an honest 100hp now on alk...pretty amazing for a 400cc motor. The 370s are around 80ish on alk. I know you aren't drag racing, or running methanol. But it gives you an idea of the hp discrepancy.
  14. Depends how bad they are. They make some pretty good engine degreasers that will take off light to moderate dirt.
  15. 32:1 with 927
  16. I did help him by steering him away from the people you seem to have a hard on for. And wherever my sandbox happens to be for that particular weekend...you and your ESR port job better stay the fuck away. I know more about 250r performance than you'll ever learn by reading Dirt Wheels. But if you still feel strongly about it. How about you and I race our 250r's?
  17. Bad idea. If you seal it up, it will sweat and still rust. It has been in my experience that I WANT it to breath a little.
  18. No chance in hell that I would ever send my motor to a mass production place. You are completely wrong on this one. By going to ESR or LRD you are leaving a LOT of horsepower on the table. They don't port for "you". They take a cylinder out of the casting. Touch the ports up and throw it on a shelf and wait for you to buy it. There is so much to porting a cylinder that you simply can not buy an off the shelf cylinder and be happy with it. Spend your money with somebody who will build your motor to suit YOU, and not for their convenience.

You can take Grand and follow it all the way down, or you can take 4th street. Make a left at the light. Go straight for a mile. Make a right hand turn on Grand. Get in the left lane. Drive over the rail road tracks. Make a left at the light (Hwy 1). Go down a mile. Make a right hand turn on Pier Ave. Follow it a mile down to the beach. The 4th street way is quiet a bit faster.
  20. As already mentioned, time-serts and heli-coils are completely different. Serts are also stronger, look nicer, and won't back out or get hung up on the bolt.

There are no "campgrounds" on the beach unless you bunk up at the RV park. You literally camp ON the beach. 2wd will be tricky, and I would venture to guess that you will get stuck, but there are a lot of people who will help pull you out. I have a turbo hayabusa 2 seat sandrail and the hills are pretty small, but still fun. Some decent bowls, but nothing like Dumont where you can really open it up unless you are on sand highway.
  22. Don't be cheap. Put a time-sert in it. It'll be stronger when you're done.
  23. I'll PM so we don't clutter this thread.
  24. Tensile strength seems to be an advertising ploy. Initially I was with you. I was sponsored by Sidewinder and ran their "extreme" 17,000+lb chain. "Strongest chain on the market". Some of my friends were breaking the "titanium II" chain that had a tensile of 16,000. Shortly after we all went to 530 EK chains which had a tensile of 11500lb. The EK chain is by FAR the tougher chain, despite having a tensile of 5500lbs less. If you want to stick with 520 though instead of buying new 530 sprockets I still have a new extreme sidewider 17klb chain in the package if you're interested.
  25. I am going to rant on you for a second. But you have nobody to blame but yourself. The fact that YOU as the customer were given a coupon from the manufacture in good faith. Their way of saying "thank you for being so kind to us, here. Please take this gift". Then you turn it around and threaten to never do business with them again because you can't use it after it has expired? Sorry...that is just poor form and makes you look like an ass. Look at it from their point of view. No, they don't want to lose a customer over 50 bucks. But I am sure they wouldn't mind losing a customer whose loyalty is as easily swayed as yours. If you'll threaten and dump on them over something that is YOUR fault. Just imagine what they would have to go through if they did something that was their fault...
