  1. Do you see where it's coming out? Is it coming out the exhaust or leaking out on the engine?
  2. A new Noss head and domes. Price with BHQ discount is $234.00 + shipping. Easy bolt-on, good gains.
  3. The edges of the domes are pretty fragile. If it is dented it can prevent the oring from sealing properly. I think your assumption is probably correct.
  4. 21cc would definitely be okay. 20cc would probably be fine with the 98 octane.

    Cool Head

If you don't find a used one, I have new ones. $234.00 + shipping for BHQ members for silver head and domes. -David
  7. What are your other mods and your elevation?
  8. You may be okay because of your porting. I wouldn't recommend it with stock cylinders. 21cc is what I would recommend, like a few of the others.
  9. A little info is needed. Elevation? Other mods?
  10. The 'normal' domes will work on bores from standard to .080 over. Anything larger than that requires custom domes.
  11. Wes, I wasn't slamming the PD. I just thought the comment that I quoted was funny. I made (and ran) a head pretty similar to their design for a while. I wanted to eliminate the need for longer studs and make it cool more evenly so I designed the current version.
  12. dawarriorman, Thanks. They are 8mm X 1.25 pitch. I'd like them to have about 15mm thread depth. I buy them 1000 at a time. RNBRAD, Thanks, I'll call them tomorrow. I can't navigate their site.
  13. You don't have to use the acorn nuts. Sometimes they do bottom out on the studs. I guess the studs aren't always the same length. I'm looking for some different ones that are deeper but haven't had any luck yet. If anyone has a source for stainless metric acorn nuts, let me know. Put a little RTV on the threads if you have any coolant pushing up through the studs.
  14. You don't need your crank welded for 21cc or 20cc. I run 19cc with a stock crank.
  15. Try removing the nuts that are leaking and putting a little RTV silicone on the threads then reinstall the nuts.
  16. So roseman....you don't have many posts on BHQ.... Do you use this product? Do you have a Banshee? Just curious
  17. In my earlier post it might have looked like I was slamming some other engine builders and that's not the case. I'm pretty fortunate. I get to deal with some really sharp engine builders. Talking to some of them about two-stroke engines is like talking to a professor about quantum physics.
  18. With +4 timing and 21cc domes you do need at least premium pump gas. Do you know what the compression was before the problems? Does the top of the piston looked like it's been beat on with an ice pick?
  19. The Cubs have been very good for business. I really should write a thank-you note to Calvin Pollet. With all the different configurations available with the Cubs, it is a good idea to talk to your builder. Getting the domes and cylinders thru Jim is a good idea. He has the expertise to design the domes which will produce the numbers best for your motor. Some builders guess or copy. Jim is one of the few who know the obscure formulas and calculations and secrets to build incredible motors.
  20. I make 68mm domes for Banshee or Blaster pistons. Nate usually gets them blank or close to what he will need and fits them to the particular engine he is building. There are several Cub configurations so I am making them to order right now. I need to have the deck height, bore, desired volume and piston type.
  21. I appreciate your business and am glad you like the head. Thanks, David
  22. For premium pump I'd lean towards the 21cc. If the exhaust port is raised very much maybe 20cc.
  23. UPS Ground is $8.00 so a silver head and domes would be $242.00 shipped. You should be okay with 20cc domes if your timing is stock and you run premium pump gas at that elevation. If you went riding at sea level, I'd up the octane a little.
  24. I don't know the elevation without knowing a town near where you ride. I would think 20cc or 21cc if you are wanting to run premium pump gas.
