  6. also it has a power jet.it looks like a alchohal jet in the back of the carb.

  8. any more suggestions? i stopped bidding on used 34pjs on ebay after they got up past $160.00. everyone says they are hard to tune anyways. so if theres not a lot of increase going to bigger carbs, ill just run the stockers for a while.

  10. i am building a 4 mill long rod setup.passion is doing the machine work on the head and dune port. and expects the compression to be around 165-170.i have boyson duel stage reeds,grr pipes.my carbs are stock with 350 mains and 25 pilots.at 700ft. my question is,am i gonna see a noticeable diff. going to a bigger carb.and what size?i was thinking maybe 28mm? any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. thanks
  11. maybe left silencer is stopped up?try it with the silecer removed and see if it runs better.
  12. if you can turn the fly wheel (the round thing)past a full revolution,then the problem is in your trans. kick start area.it sounds like your kick start gear is staying engaged.there should be a spring to pull the gear back when you take tension off the kick starter.i bought a banshee that had that spring popped out of place and it caused similar problems. pull the clutch cover off and rotate the motor over and see if anything looks out of whack. oh and if the crank doesnt turn past a full revolution then trx guy is correct about the rust in the cylinders.

  14. no air box lid with k&n, go up 2 sizes on mains,then do a plug chop.
  15. an override trans allows you to shift full throttle with out using the clutch.you still need the clutch to take off. if your wife is not experienced with manuel trans.it would not be a good idea to run a override. you need to look into a recluse type clutch.or find a polaris 400 sport,they are heavy but make power easy.
  16. my wifes raptor done the same thing.it would rattle only in second gear. i split the case and the engagement dogs on the side of the gear was broke off and stripped the teeth off.but the older raptors had a week second gear anyways. so your first step is split the case and look for broken parts.your lucky its a banshee,they are the easiest motor i have ever split.

  18. ok,thanks i have been into a few other banshees and never seen that before.the banshee is a 2000 model and the frictions and steels look brand new.maybe they went back oem.
  19. i pulled my clutch apart and theres rubber o rings between my frictions and steels. anyone else have a setup like this? is it specific to a certain brand of clutch kit? my other banshees didnt have them.thanks
  20. i was searching around the site for info on what exactly the shift star mod is and i havnt seen anything explaining how to do it.can anyone please explain to me how to mod it? thanks..

  23. i bought a lt 250 with the same motor,it made the bike very heavy.i had to put vw coil over shocks on the front to keep it from bottoming out all the time.(front end heavy) in the sand i had zero traction because the front end was so heavy.motor was too far forward,also i had overheating issues due to the lts stock radiator but you may have better luck with a banshee frame. also dont expect to go out and spank everyone with it,a 65 hp banshee will probably tear you a new one.
  24. i wouldnt judge his engine building skills off how much chrome is on his bike.thats kind of stupid.now if he is getting smoked by everyone else then i would walk away.iv got a 75 hp banshee that has not one piece of chrome on it,and just sold a 250r that looked stock.i spend my money where it matters most performance and handling. its always fun to beat these guys with 45hp thats got everything polished and powder coated.lots of people judge how fast a banshee is by how good they look.
  25. wow,that was a lot of info.i feel like my head is gonna explode.and i agree 100% on polishing.big waste of time,its one reason why some builders have to charge so much because they spend lots of hours polishing ports.
