  1. I just tried a different setup, the carbs had 48 pilot, 155 mains, 1.5 turns on the air screw. I am also at 650ft elevation, and the temp is right around 20 today, so I put a 52 pilot and 170 mains, but it was too rich part throttle, cleaned up a lot with 2 turns out on the air screw and i think it needs to go out another .25-.50 of a turn, so i think it needs a 50 pilot. I havent had a chance to get a new set of plugs so I can do a plug chop but it feels pretty good. I think I may go a little bigger on the mains just to be safe and then make a pass and pull the plugs to see what they look like.
  2. 1st in line!! PM me if you get another set of Shearer or CPI's, might help wake my motor up just a little bit.
  3. If someone just wants the carbs, I will take the pods and outerwares...let me know
  4. next in line if they arent sold. pics please to udlose10@yahoo.com
  5. Subscribing... I have a similar setup and was wondering what would be a good starting point. The 35mm pwk's I came with 48 pilot, 155 mains and a CEL needle on the 3rd clip. It seemed like it ran good but I never got on it real hard because I am sure it is lean for the temps here (25 degrees @ 350ft above sea level). I put a 52 pilot and 170 mains in it but now we have some sort of an ice/rain/sleet storm so I cant test it.
  6. If you are parting it out, I would like a price on the elka shocks, a-arms, and the axle. Maybe the t-5's also.
  7. Pm sent, I will take it if you dont part it out and are willing to ship.
  8. I believe it is sold, well at least a deposit was put down on it this afternoon. I'm stupid and should have told him sooner that I would take it, and not waited till this morning. Oh well, congrats on the sale!
  9. Agreed... But to answer the OP question, back in 1998 when my first Banshee was stock, there happened to be one of those cop radars on the side of the road by my house... my Banshee would only go 68-69mph.
  10. I would say $1200-3500 depending on the mods, how nice it is, and the location. I am really in the market for two if the prices are right.
  11. back to the top...Still looking, will consider having it shipped if you are too far away.
  12. Sorry to threadjack, but I didnt want to start another similar thread... Would it be worth getting a set of v-2 or vf-3's on a ported 4mil stroker motor? Or would the increase in power and throttle response not be worth the money?
  13. are those stock width arms and stock shocks? what about the axle?
  14. where are you located in southern california?
  15. How about delivering it out to Illinois? lol...bump for a nice ride, wish you weren't so far away.
  16. Brian, Can you send me some pics and a list of the mods please? www.udlose10@yahoo.com Thanks
  17. Bump for such a nice machine, I wish you weren't so far away!
  18. Well, before it got real cold and started snowing I decided to finally let the girfriend take my Yamaha R1 out for a ride... Well, now she understands why Im always out riding and now she wants a bike and/or a Banshee!!
  19. Well, I passed on that Banshee, but now I am still looking for one to get. I would really like to find one like your talking about with suspension and everything already done for around $3000... You know of anyone selling in the Chicago area or within 5 hours?
  20. I am looking for either a built Banshee, with welded crank, ported cylinders, suspension...etc and also maybe just a piped banshee, preferably CPI or Toomey. Bikes must be in mint condition and located in the midwest, I will travel to pickup but dont want to drive much more than 5-6 hours from the Chicago area. Let me know what you guys have.
  21. What about the Pro-Design kit that you bolt the alum. piece into the airbox and then clamp the filter to it? Much better than the stock setup
  22. Yea, i was thinking the same thing, and if you see his other ad I guess he took it in on trade and the person that owned it crashed it and broke his neck and died on this thing. I have the pics of the damage to the radiator plastics, the bumper was dented alittle, the front plastic was bowed at the front right bolt, and the usual worn a-arms and frame from riding. He also doesnt have the paperwork to backup the motor specs and doesnt know what size domes are in the motor, but said he can get them from the brother of the previous owner. What do you think, pass on this one?
  23. He said it was finished this year with not very much time on it. I was thinking about offering $2400-2500 depending on how it looks if I make the trip out there, but I'm still waiting to hear back from him about getting some more details on it. Are there any other things about running alky besides it sucking about twice as much fuel, making more power, and having to purge it after every ride? If I got this I would prolly do a little trail riding and go to the badlands. Thanks again
