  1. 148 mains, 48 pilot, CEL needle in middle position @ 2400 feet. I just raised the clip up a notch and the plugs do look drier just playing around in the yard. I haven't got to get a good 1-6 pull and another chop. Just wondering what direction to head in. Thanks.
  2. That's what I was thinking since the circuits overlap each other. Also, how do you tell that the needle isn't lean or rich? By feel and the plug color?
  3. I just did some plug chops on my carbs to get the main jet size correct. I think I got it dialed in pretty close but I also just raised my needle clip to adjust the mid throttle. Question is do I need to do another plug chop to verify correct main jetting after changing the needle clip position. Thanks in advance.
  4. I am trying to get my pwk 35 a/s carbs dialed in. I have a good plug chop with the mains but its lazy getting into the power band in 4-6 gears. 1-3 it hits hard but I still feel like its a little lazy. I can get it to hit the power band if I clutch it a little in 4-6 gears. My plugs are a dark brown and oily if I ride it for like 30 minutes. I run 927 @ 40:1 on 93 pump gas. My question is do I need to step down on mains again or lean out the needle with the clip? I want it to be crisp and get it to where the plugs aren't oily. I know I'm rich but according to the plug chop the main is good to go...I assume its the needle or could it be a combination of both. I have pics of plugs if u need to see them. Thanks
  5. mods....feel free to move this to the jetting forum. I just realized I posted it in the wrong forum
  6. The pic with half the threads cut is a 150 chop in 5th gear....the pic with all the threads cut is a 148 chop in 6th. How do they look? It pulls hard but when I hit 4th, 5th, 6th it is lazy getting into the powerband. If I clutch it a little it hits but I think I'm still rich. I rode around about 20-30 minutes using a wide range of throttle and my plugs come out a darker brown and they are oily. Could I be off on my needle clip position on what? Right now it's in the middle clip. Could this be why it's not hitting the powerband in 4-6 the way it should? Actually it feels a little lazy until I get on the pipe hard. Currenty I'm running a 148 main, CEL needle in middle clip, and 48 pilot. I have many jets to go down more if need be. Any advice or help would be gladly appreciated!
  7. Fast shipping, and the rear brake system was just as described! Josh is an excellent person to buy from! This guy is an asset to BHQ!!!!!! Thanks again!
  8. From what I have read Bills pipes are a decent pipe for trail riding. I'm sure someone on here could answer your question better that has them on their bike. I would give them a shot and see how you like them. I believe they are more of a bottom end pipe. Hope this helps you out.
  9. that's what I thought about the CPI's ---an awsome pipe, but not for my riding style. I think I'm good on my carb clearance. I just about have it dialed in perfect I believe. Gonna go do a little testing in the next week or two with some jetting and I should be good to go. Thanks for all the help everyone!!
  10. I thought the Pro Circuits were the pipe of choice on a woods/ mx shee?! I'm not opposed to to trying a set of CPI's just as long as they suit my riding style/ setup. I just don't want to turn this shee into a purely top end machine. Yes I realize its a banshee and yes that's what they're designed for but I'd still like to keep it woods/ xc friendly if that makes sense. I'm sure the PC pipes are holding it back a little on the top but i do like the pull it has with them...although I've never been on a banshee with CPI's so I have no way to compare other than reviews and comments on BHQ. If someone could give me an honest oppinion on CPI's vs. PC's on my setup I may look into the switch ( here goes getting my jetting perfect again---start all over lol). Open to all opinions on this pipe with my combo and goals for my quad. Thanks-----
  11. Thanks Kevin! This thing flat rips since I'm starting to finally get it dialed in!
  12. I have came to the conclusion that I'm gonna run them straight up. I'm gonna use some heat wrap that was suggested to me. I don't like the idea of running out of fuel. I have already shimmed out the exhaust as much as possible. I believe this will resolve my problem. Thanks for the ideas and suggestions.
  13. I think you said that very well. I was kind of thinking I might be a little more crisp on the bottom only to lose out on the mid to top with the over rev. I have them dialed in pretty close now. I'm just trying to perfect the jetting. I'm very pleased with them, I was just curious as to if a a smaller carb would have worked better. As for now I'm gonna keep them and get them perfect on jetting. Thanks for all the advice.
  14. I do just the same. I'm either putting around or WTFO.
  15. From what I read the Air Striker carbs atomized the fuel better than regular PWK's due to a higher velocity or something. Therefore I wouldn't be over carbing my bike. Basically I think the bike feels really strong. I just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing a lot of low to midrange power with say a pair of PWK 28's. If its nothing too noticeable I would just leave well enough alone.
  16. I may be ok since I mainly trail ride and rarely tap out 6th gear. I don't think I'd run them dry since I usually am wide open for a brief while. Mostly on and off the throttle.
  17. That was what I was afraid of. I guess I will just heat tape them up really good and run them straight up the way they were designed to be installed. Like I said I don't want to cause a fuel issue and you described exactly what I was thinking could happen if I did tilt it in a little. Thanks for the advice.
  18. good deal...thanks for the replies. I just didn't want to melt down a top end due to some fuel problem as a result of tilting a carb a little.
  19. I currently have PWK 35 Air Strikers on my bike with Pro Circuit pipes....long story short the left side is right up against my pipe at the top of the carb cap along with the vent hoses on that side. The fuel line is on the pipe too but I pulled it down with a zip tie to keep it away from the pipe. I also used heat tape to wrap the vent lines and fuel line. If I tilt the carb in a little at an angle it gives me a little clearance. Will this hurt anything or performance by tilting the carb in a little? Thanks.
  20. PM sent to you
  21. I'm looking for a rear master cylinder for my 03 shee....my original is scratched badly inside and beyond rebuilding. I need one to be in good shape and working properly....I don't want to have to rebuild it. I want to be able to bolt it up, bleed it, have brakes again and ride lol. Not trying to be picky, just need a good master cylinder. Post up what you have....thanks!
  22. Just as the title states, mods are in my signature. I ride fast paced woods/ xc style. I haven't been on a bike with pwk 28's or such on a setup like mine so I just used 35 air strikers. I mean this thing rips but I'm wandering how much grunt I'm losing with 35's. If its substantial I'd trade them to go down a little on carb size. I have my ltr 450 for the torque and I'm not asking for my banshee to perform like a 4 stroke. I just want to know if I'd be better off with 28's or 33's. Thanks.
  23. I just installed Kenda Kutter XC's on my shee... 21's on the front and 20's on the rear. I researched on here and decided to give them a try and I'm very happy with how well they hook. I ride a mix of terrain...basically everything except sand. I also use the ITP GNCC tires on my other bike and realy like them, other than the price lol, although they seem to be wearing a little quick but I ride quite aggressively on them too. I used Razrz before and I will never run them again....I thought the front tires sucked when it was a little wet out or muddy.
  24. Fouledout421 said exactly what I was thinking!!! You will be happy with either one, both are great products. I personally chose to go with the Chariot's after reading on here and talking to Kevin at HJR since I wasn't trying to build a drag bike....plus you will save a little $$$ also as said before . I'm was very pleased with the quality and the performance of the Chariots.
  25. I like to go about 3 seconds pinned wide open in 5th or 6th. Then shut it down and pull the plugs. I emailed Kevin my pics today and he said it looked great but I could probably go to a 148 main and be good to go. Any other suggestions from the experts is greatly appreciated.
