  1. I am not favoring the single gauge set up, considering that you have to constantly move the tool from one carb to the other a hundred times and that you have to hold it in place. I know a lot of people just eyeball the slide, so I am sure any tool that can get you closer than that is good. Are there any dual gauge tools that will work?
  2. I am wanting to get a carb sync tool to sync my 28's, but not sure which one is best as far as carb sync difficulty, accuracy, and price. I seen the one on fast, but it is not like other one's I have seen. I need some help on this please!
  3. Banshee's will shift without the clutch, but not recommended, unless you have the overdrive gears. I know a guy that raced like that all the time and his tranny ended up getting stuck in gear, not sure what the outcome was with that though.
  4. I am in the middle of swapping my single 38 intake for a set of 28 pwk's, should be here monday. I am interested to see how it affects the power band! I usually ride with a friend that rides a banshee and has the stock duals. Every time we end up rideing, we end up raceing, it always happens. I liked the single carb set up, just wanted to try duals!
  5. Got a thumb throttle?
  6. Thanks, I am coming from a 2 into 1 intake and can't wait to get the duals hooked up. What would be a good staring point for the clip on the needle?
  7. Thanks, I am in Florida and is mostly 80-90 degree weather with high humidity.
  8. Well I just bought a set of 28mm pwk's and after checking out the pinned jetting sheet I have decided to start with 155 main's and 50 pilot's. sea level, intake port clean up, timing +4, t-5's, .030 shaved head, stock stroke, and 66mm pistons. Do those size jets sound like a good starting point?
  9. You using the choke?
  10. Any info or pics?

    Set of carbs

Looking for a good clean set of carbs, stockers are fine.
  12. I've been running 93 octane with a stock head that has .030 shaved off and timing at +4, but would not run any lower octane than 93! Have been thinking of trying some 50/50 race mix though, just to see if there is any noticable difference.
  13. well I finally made a pressure tester. I got it to exactly 6psi, after 2 minutes it was at 5.5psi and after 4 minutes it was just below 5psi, figured that was not too bad. I have decided to ditch the single carb set up and try a set of dual carbs, is it possible that the single carb is not feeding the cylinders evenly? I was going to sell or swap my single carb set up, but I don't want to sell any bogus parts. I need some help on figuring it out. The local fair is in about a week and a half and they usualy have quad races, I want to be there but want my shee running right or not at all!
  14. If it locked up then possibly something is jammed and pinching or holding the cases together, may need new cases.
  15. I purchased a banshee with a trinity stage 4 38mm carb, 2 into 1 intake on it. I would like to sell this intake and try out a dual carb set up. The carb is polished (not a perfect polish job but it shines), has a new poly boot and a new uni 2 stage air filter. I don't know what these go for used, but I would be interested in a possible swap for a dual carb set up. I tried uploading a photo but it was too big, if interested just give me your email and I will send some pics. The throttle cable has some fraying on it so it would not be included in the sale or swap.
  16. Well when I got the shee I noticed the right pipe smoking a lot more than the left pipe. I had to rebuild it and after the rebuild the right pipe still smoked more. I also noticed that the right header gets hotter and faster than the left when I let it warm up. I swapped plug wires and still the same outcome. It has a trinity 2 into 1, 38mm carb intake so I never fully understood why one pipe was smoking more than the other. At one point I let a friend run with my full exhaust and both pipes where smoking about the same on his. Any help with this would be appreciated!
  17. KEEP IT, looks great!
  18. Get a shop manual!! loosen the adjustments at the handlebars and the pressure plate before you try adjust it, if not it will bind up and not work right! But it sound like the adjustment at the pressure plate is off!
  19. I just rebuilt mine with a stock head shaved .30 off and my compression was at 145, I had about 1 gallon of fuel through it at sea level. But also the threaded adapter for the tester was not near as long as the threads on the spark plug, so I am assuming it is a little low because of that. There are a few different factors that can affect a accurate reading.
  20. I just went threw the same thing and had to do a rebuild with a low budget! I got most of my parts from the site sponsors and rebuilt my motor myself. I got a true and welded crank for about $160, I think it was from juggs racing. Search around for the best deals on the parts you need.
  21. Thanks fellas, ordering clutch kit and picking up some wet clutch fluid.
  22. I have heard of many different fluids for the banshee tranny. I would assume the clutch pads are the same for a 2stroke and 4stroke clutch.
  23. I would have to say that the clutch is stock, one of the few things I haven't replaced yet. So maybe try the 80w fluid for the tranny?
  24. Bored 2mm over, +4 on the timing, trail port, stock head milled .030 over, T5 exhaust, 2 into 1 intake with 38mm carb and a welded crank.
