  1. Could be a number of issue's. Carbs not synced, stock exhaust choking the engine or clogged low speed jet. I don't know how the stock exhaust will affect your jetting, but i'm sure it does.
  2. Build it yourself, they are easy to work on! You will have more pride in your ride knowing you are the one that built it.
  3. I would get the banshee for sure! Get yourself a repair manual and start looking over the engine. Compression test if you have one!
  4. What size is the carb?
  5. I have decided to yank out the 20cc domes and should have some 22's by Friday, see where that puts the compression at! I will probably sell the 20cc domes and my stock shaved head within the next few days, but if anyone is interested just let me know.
  6. What size do ya think? I am at 210 psi with 20's, maybe 22's would be about 180 psi?
  7. Didn't think of it at the time, but I believe my vito pistons are the reason my compression is so high! I will probably end up changing my domes a few times before I find the right one's, but I will at least try these while I have them installed. I understand that it will add extra stress on the motor, but I have faith in my fresh buld!
  8. Well after much reading I have gathered that the high compression will give me more power, but will not rev out as high. My crank is welded and I ride primarily trails, so I think I will try this set up for a little while. But the down side is I aslo have to run the 110 octane, which here it is at $8.50 a gallon!
  9. Did you choke it?
  10. Engine killer?
  11. Well I couldn't wait on a pressure tester, so I got my own. The motor dosn't seem to be 100% so I did the compression test with the motor cold and the throttle wide open and got 210 on the left and 209 on the right. This is much higher than I was expecting and not sure if my fuel has a high enough octane rating or not. Please, any knowledge of octane or compression related info is needed!!!!
  12. I have 100 octane av gas in it now. I have only let it run for a few minutes, but I don't see any leaks.
  13. I haven't done a compression test yet, waiting to use a buddy's tester. I am going to do a compression test on it before I go rippin on it, but I am just wondering if it is common to bump up your idle when you raise your compression. I am at sea level here in Florida, I have read with the 20's I should be somewhere around 160-170 psi, is that right?
  14. I had a stock head with .030 shaved off and now I just installed a fast cool head with 20's. Before I had my idle just high enough to keep the shee running and now when I pushed the choke in it cuts off. I have only run it for a few moments but it seems like I need to bump the idle up a bit. So I am wondering if that is normal?
  15. Make sure you put everything back together correctly!
  16. I had to adjust the floats on my 28's when I got them. If it is running lean enough to cut out, than it is running lean enough to cause major damage quickly.
  17. I know its an older post, but sounds like a lesson learned. If you are WFO and shee dies, something is wrong!! Shee tried to tell ya, but you didn't want to hear it!!
  18. Bigger front sprocket will give you more top end and less acceleration, while a bigger rear sprocket will give you more acceleration and less top end. I have just recently started playing with the gearing, I say try it if you have the $$ and time, but you may need a bigger chain. I don't know about the stress factor, don't really see how it would be a bad thng.
  19. I was wondering if the throttle should be adjusted so the slide is flush with the top of the carb bore? I noticed that the slides go past the roof of the carb when the throttle is wide open. Should they?
  20. Do you have a temp gauge? How hot is it getting?
  21. If there is an air leak then the idle will not be consistant and will usually be higher than normal. Also when snapping the throttle, the rpm's will take a while to come back down even if the slide is closed.
  22. same mods, but at sea level and minus the porting and I am at a 48 pilot and 160 main.
  23. Just had a similar problem. I cleaned up all connections pertaining to ignition, fired right up after that.
  24. There are actually forums for freak quads like that, I forget the name of it, but it is out there. Guy's on there will give you much needed info. What is the purpose of building that? I put an 06 CBR1000rr engine in a 04 KFX700 frame, on my never ending quest for more power. It was way more than I had expected and ended up selling that beast within about 8 months, plus I couldn't keep it off the street and had police issue's. Depending on the year of that GSXR600, I would throw a guess out there and say it is close to about 115hp, that is not out of reach for a banshee motor and you could keep the much lighter banshee engine. Just because one engine makes more power, doesn't mean it will be better for your riding conditions. I am not trying to discurage you, but there are a lot of things to consider when building something custom like that.
