the shift shaft has 2 centering springs. you need to adjust the ecentric bolt to make sure the hooks are centered over the shift star pins.

witaker custom racing and the owner is greg. send it to him including the shift forks and he can identify the issue. another thing it can be is slipping clutches. if you have a lockup try adding weight and or replace the fibers if they are worn.

take the pto gear back off. clean the key really well and the snout and yamabond it all the way around the key and try your test the next day.

the silencers determine the noise, not the pipe.... if you heard a loud ass set of fmf's you heard a set with blown out silencer packing and needed to be repacked.

they are custom cut and covered that way. take your seat to a upholstery shop and they can do it for you. i did my own foam work and just had the shop do the cover.

i would think the trans oil may start to try to leak around the rear vent, but it would be fine as long as you checked the level before riding. -
