  1. so Ran it in the trails today and hard... i really like it I thing there is lots of low end and I'm not shifting to much, I out beat my buddys 450 on some of the up hill shots but i'm also alittle more daring than him.
  2. I think I'll try the header wrap, I know it holds water but the trails I ride are mostly sandy dirt so I'll be good, I just thought zip ties might wear threw. thanks man
  3. My plugs are dark as if to much oil, and I run kloz R-50, Should I just run at 50;1? thanks
  4. can you run these with the stock stator? I like the looks of the stock head light but they sure are dim!
  5. also to stop the pipes from burning a hole in my new outterwears whats the pipe rap some of you use and where do you get?
  6. I'm not sure how to word this but I'll try. I'm running my shee at 40:1 and its a little rich, but when I run 50:1 it seems to be dead on, my question is it is better to run 50:1 or rejet to run at 40:1, I'm not loking for mad power just whats good for the motor. Is running the bike at 50;1 the same as rejetting it to match 40;1? I hope this makes sense?
  7. thanks guys, off they are!
  8. I was not sure where to post this but, I have pod filters and just got my outterwears in but I notice this nub coming off the frame on both sides and its rubbing on my filter. Is this where the stock pipes mounted or maybe part of the airbox, Have you guys just shaved these off or left them.? thanks
  9. I bought a gasket sealer will that work? also I used Dupli-color caliper paint not engine paint, Is this still resistant to gas? the guy at the auto parts store said there prettty much the same! Mite be because thats all they had in blue color
  10. so is 14t-46t to high or to low you think?
  11. Im using high temp engine paint it could just be it was a loose spot where the paint did not stick well, thanks
  12. thanks for all your help man!
  13. the stock rear skid does clear it but thats the lowiest you could go, I am rate now modding a aftermarket skid because I dont think the stock one has much crushing room if you smack something, if I understand you right your saying that there is a greater diference if you change the front sprocket oppose to the rear, because the one front tooth is equal to 3 on the rear, Thanks for all the info bro/
  14. when I first bought the bike thats what I did, because he had shit floating in the tank so ya I'll do it again, is it safe to use a cleaner like carb cleaner or is that to strong?
  15. will this add wear to the motor or no?
  16. well I already had the 46t in the rear so I just got rid of the front and switched to a 14t... to gear a little higher, I thought it would be easier to shorten a chain than lengthen it. so I am geared a little higher from a 12t-46t to a 14t-46t so I'll see how it works but I do see myself going to a 43t or 44t later. thanks guys
  17. I think I have 22'' spidertracs rear and I am now trying a 14t front and a 46t rear it seems to work well I was worried when I hear a 12t front was bad so I went and bought a 14t Now I know I'm geared low but I am alot bigger than the average rider, but one question is the lower you go on the front sprocket more strain on the motor? because I thought I was doing a favor making the motor work less with lower gearing due to my weight? am I hurting it?
  18. thanks man, I'll pull it all out and try a little lquid gasket on it since thats what I already have, Hope this will fix it, I just got done with my motor and it looks amazing than this... its not to bad I can still touch it up when the motors in the bike,
  19. I bought a petcock re-build kit http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=400095383901&viewitem=&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWNX%3AIT should I also use the lquid gasket or no? the other thing is that it only leaks when I wheelie or run the bike hard and seem to be buy that brass fitting that the gas line goes on, so should I lquid gasket that on as well. I really don't want to keep pulling my motor for paint thanks
  20. my petcock... he he, is dripping on my motor ruinning my new paint it seems as if there is a hole on the bottom of it where the gas line comes in, I have not takin it apart yet so I dont know for sure, Is there anyway to fix this or do they naturaly leak? Its very little but likes to pool on one of the head bolts disolving my paint, also when I pull the tank is it ok to lquid gasket the petcock seals... or will this hurt it. I'm not sure where exactly its coming from. thanks, Matt
  21. some people dont realize is that radiators do go bad the channels get blocked with gunk, check your impeller out and look at you impeller gear also, another thing to look for is if someone took the radiator lines of they sometimes cross the overflow line with the head vent line causing coolant to flow into the overflow rather than around the engine. Invest in a temp gauge it is a safe way to protect you engine also when adding mods you can see how it effects your temps. my boss radiator got destroyed in a crash and I bought a cheap one off ebay from china, Works just as good, I run a vector so I could notice if there was a difference.
  22. ya... I wanted to know about reed spacer as well, do they do anything or just another boost bottle? also do you have to re-jett when you put them in and whats the best thickness to get?
  23. sorry double post
  24. i use really fine sand paper 180 than work my way up and in between sandings I warm up the spot with a torch and repeat, I dont remember how high of a grit i went but after I was done I used a polishing wheel with a plastic polish and you cant even tell they were there. try in under the fender first to get a feel for it if your unsure thats what i did.
