    Elka shocks

The same tool that comes with round carrier swingers would probably work as well!
  2. I don't know if it is camera angle but looks crooked to me! Looks like right side is shorter than the left.
  3. Didn't you just get this bike put together and jetted like a week ago? Now you are selling it because it is too fast! Time to strap on a set!
  4. Has anyone had a set of molded front sand tires shaved or buffed at a tire shop? What is the cost? How much to shave?
  5. I would go with something like this! I would stay away from the stretched out round tube swingers with no gussets or reinforcing tubes they will flex and crack!
  6. I use 33's and they used the same jetting on a piped, reeds, 19cc domes as they do now with dune port, 4mil long rod, 21cc domes,+4timing. I have cel middle clip, 52 pilot, 152 main, two turns out air screws. If yours is bogging it is too rich.
  7. As long as they are not cracked just flip the petals over nice and tight again.
  8. Welcome to the world of the modded bansehee!! 2 hours of bliss followed by three months of headache! I will tell you this, if you keep your shit clean and maintained, your problem will almost never be a carb problem. If it is jetted close, it should run through the power band. I rebuilt a bilke and modded it to where I felt comfortable with maintenance and reliability. My story involved fouling plugs, high comp domes and race gas! I chased jetting all over the place, hard starting, you name it and I tried it. Problem turned out to be a bad flywheel that had obviously been pulled off using an incorrect puller because all the magnets were broken. Generator and electrical problems seem to be the hard ones to diagnose.
  9. I had no luck banging on spindles to release. I unscrewed the the castle nut to bottom of stem and used a scrap piece of 2x4 up against stem. One good whack with hammer and poped right out, no damage to anything. this way the wood takes the blow and crushes on the nut with no damage to joint and you don't have hammered up spindles.
  10. I had my motor rebuilt last year by FAST and when I picked it up he asked if I had any trouble shifting. I said no, why? He showed me my shaft, it was broken completely in half! I doubt that yours is causing an issue!
  11. Send them an email with this link! Someone needs to be fired. Dealers are idiots, I don't use them for anything!
  12. I hope your health insurance is up to date.
  13. Those look like burgards. I just went to nuts and bolts store and found some oil brass bushings that would fit. The platic or delron bushings break. I think there is a company that makes some that are bearings.
  14. FAST racing sells fabric k and n style filters for a fraction of the price!
  15. I would buy a new set of dust covers/caps!! They keep the grease in and the water and dirt out. They have a rubber seal in the caps that gets worn so buy a new set. Why this guy did not use them is anyones guess, people make a career out of doing shit the wrong way! I use oil brass bushings in mine because the delron bushings will break over time. My powder coater did blast the crome for me. Also don't over tighten the nuts on the arms because you will make the movement of the arm rigid. I think its 40 torque but check your clymers.
  16. I would say they are, they look just like mine. Old lone stars looked very similar to that also.
  17. There are a lot of site sponsers here with some serious cash to give back to the one's that made them! With the bikes in question I don't think it would cost anywhere near 20,000 dollars. We are talking about a few thaousand dollars to make these bikes equal. Tell me I am wrong! I usually don't get involved in grudge mactches that don't iinvolve me but this is out of hand! Two riders, same bike. Winner gets both!
  18. Someone here has a big case of little mans disease! Here is a thought, BHQ sponser both riders with exactly the same bike and then see who has the bigger dick!
  19. For those of us that are weekend mechanics a pinch axle nut is worth every penny!! They get rid of having to buy giant wrenches that will nevery get used again and is much easier to deal with when working on the rear end! I don't know how people have problems with these nuts getting lose, mine took a giant pipe wrench, vice, torch, and breaker bar! Once they were off they went straight into the trash
  20. I can tell you what not to do....Engine Ice. It is over priced bullshit and doesn't lower the temps it claims to! Ahh the power of marketing.
  21. I see a lot of craiglisters claiming to have newer builds from these guys. I thoiught they went out of business, just curious if they are still around.
  22. Please don't tell me it was this easy!!! I had the resistor plugs in the bike and pulled those out and put in the b8es and it fired right up, spark on both sides. Will using resistor plugs on a stock coil cause probelms? The stock coil and caps have resistor built in don't they? I will keep my fingers crossed and hope it keeps running.
