  1. I can vouch for that!! I just saw it last weekend and it is purty sick!!
  2. A-men to that!!
  3. Congratulations MudTruck, You are officially my go to guy for all suspension questions. Be ready to field some questions brotha!! You got any pics of what yours looked like with +2's and stock shocks?
  4. Has anyone put on +2 a-arms and used stock shocks??? If so, can you post a pic and lemme know what your thoughts are on it. I think it will bottom out on big jumps honestly. Is it even possible? Will it soften up the front end a lot using stock shocks? Will the stance look funny?
  5. Im gonna chime in here with a few questions. Now the arms have to be 450R arms correct? Yamaha made 2 versions of the 450 and one wasn't equipped with the wider arms correct? Do you have to replace the hubs and spindles or can you just slap a set of 450R arms on ur banshee along with 450 shocks and pretty much have the same thing? What all modifications are needed to the banshee frame to accomodate 450 arms? Is it possible to buy a set of +2 banshee arms and just put 450 shocks on? I'm asking these questions because I'm looking on ebay and I see tons of 450 arms, but I'm not sure if the arms came from a 450R or a regular 450.
  6. I weight 250 lbs of solid STEEL!! LOL! JK!!
  7. Is it absolutley necessary to have the mounting tabs moved?? WIll the quad sit funny (have an upward rake to it)? Are there any certain years that will NOT work for 450 shocks???
  8. Ok, so I don't know much about suspension a-arms etc.... I got a hell of a deal on a set of +2 a-arms, tie rods and brake lines. Now, I need some shocks to accomodate. I am on a budget and do not want to break the bank in buying Elka's etc... Will yfz 450 shocks work ok with +2 a-arms??? I'm just curious because I can't afford $1k for shocks right now. Or if anyone knows a cheaper brand of shock to use rather than elka's please chime in. Thanks everyone, and like I said, when it comes to suspension, I am absolutley clueless.
  9. what are u even talkin about zach? Do you even know?
  10. Original87, thats what I think I'll do. Its so close now, I would kick myself in the ass if I got rid of it. Its grown on me and its just lil shit now. I need to redo the floats bcuz they are sticking and redo the shift shaft and shiftstar and hopefully thats it.
  11. Rajun Cajun, you're just as stupid as my simple minded roommate who is from Chalmette. Southern people make southern people look bad and you are a prime example of one. Nice work on being the posterchild of how ignorant ppl are from louisiana. I'm constantly working on that thing. If its not one thing, its another. I'm just tired of working on it. I think a 4stroke may be more dependable from what I've seen and all my friends have them and zero problems.
  12. That is a very good point!! I never looked at it like that. Thats why I posted this thread so I can get some different thoughts and opinions on my pain/dilemna. It just sucked yesterday sitting back at camp working on my quad and not being able to ride due to a $30 part.
  13. My bike has had some issues yes. I thought I had fixed all the issues. I just got done rebuilding it from ground up actually a couple weeks ago. Its just little things now it seems. It needs the floats fixed and the shift shaft replaced. Just seems like if its not one thing, its another. Yeah I like working on stuff, but I don't like working on it everytime i get back to camp. I just kept seeing all these ppl on 4 strokes yesterday riding, while I was sitting there at camp wit a toolbox lol!! I only saw 3 other banshee's besides mine yesterday. The rest 4 strokes. I found a guy with an 06 yfz 450 he wants to trade for a banshee so I said I would trade mine and some cash for his. I'm just trying to see what mines worth. If anyone has any input, please chime in. My mods are listed below: Powdercoated frame, nerfbars, bumper, grab bar, footpegs, brake lever, swingarm ported cylinders with boost ports milled head adjustable timing plate CPI bigbore pipes swingarm bearings and carrier bearings are new new chain and sprockets killswitch new front shocks new front a-arms Pro-flo filter setup TORS eliminator New plastics ITP dunestar paddles on douglas rims
  14. Ok, yesterday I went to the sand dunes in Waynoka. Started the banshee up to let it warm up a lil before I go rippin on it. Fuel is running out of the overflow tubes! I think the float stuck in the carb. It was a lil chilly (45 degrees) in the morning when I started it. I get the float unstuck and runs fine. Lots of power. Get back to the camp after riding for about 45 mins and I got fuel in my airbox. I think that was from the float sticking and fuel was coming back through the airfilter. So we go ride several more times throughout the day and on the last trip, my shifter sticks and I only have 3rd and 4th gear. Its happened before and it just jumped off the shiftstar. My dilemna is whether to keep the banshee or trade for a yfz450 or ltr450. I get so damn tired of just tinkering on this thing. All the guys I was with yesterday ran all day with no problems. They all had raptor 700's or yfz450's. Me on the otherhand, breaking out the toolbox every time I get back to camp. I love the banshee, but just want to ride and not have to tinker on it all the time. What should I do everyone? Keep it or trade for a 450???
  15. Just loaded everything up and headed out early in the morning. Any of you all gonna be down at Waynoka tomorrow??
  16. I guess I am lucky or just patient. I blew my motor up 10 minutes after I got it home from the guy I bought it off of. I rebuilt it 4 days before sandfest in Waynoka. I wasn't so patient to jet it correctly and it got hot and collapsed a ring. Soooo when I got home, I tore it all apart AGAIN and I just started talking to all my friends about some ported jugs. I traded my stock jugs and $100 for a set of dune port jugs with boost ports (not sure if boost ports are typical) from JSR performance here in Wichita, KS. I also got a milled head for $85. JSR has tons of milled heads so if you need one, lemme know. I put an adjustable plate in it with +4 degrees. THen boysen reeds. Lastly, I traded CamATV my t-6 pipes for a set of CPI bigbore pipes and silencers. I never touched the crank or tranny. My crank is solid and no play in the rods at all. Once the motor was broke in (10 heat cycles), I put it on the dyno and it made 68 hp. My compression is 155 lbs/cylinder. Thats getting to the point of needing a trued and welded crank. I think its 160 lbs and ur gonna start having crank problems. Mine is for the most part stock and I can walk a lot of 450's. Buuuuut with that being said, I have to run em down in the top end. There is nooooo way on gods earth I can beat a 450 outta the hole. If I were u, I would buy one piece at a time. Thats what I did. Searched craigslist, ebay and of course the for sale section on here and stuck to my budget. U can do it, I promise. Just don't get in a hurry and try to rush it because you will have the same issues I did and blow motors up and melt em down. Its winter, can't ride much anyway unless u wanna rejet for the cold weather because cold weather will lean a 2 stroke out fast and u know what that means.....blow up time. If you need a head, I have to have ur stock head and $85.
  17. I second that!! "bansheeEater", my galpal's PINK 400ex would beat u, and with her behind the handlebars. She's absolutley aweful when it comes to drag racing, but I bet she'd take u. She calls her bike "PINKY". That sucks that your "banshee eater" would get beat by "PINKY". And I'm out! LOL
  18. OK!! So I am fully prepared for the bashing i'm about ready to recieve but here goes LOL!! Do the BHQ logo on the front along with all the sponsor logos on the back. Down the left sleeve, Do a witches face with her hair fading into an outline of a banshee. I call my banshee the "witch of death". I believe Banshee came from old Celtic times and the witch of death was called a banshee. Not sure if that is completley accurate, but close I believe. Just throwin out ideas, so let the bashing and gayness comments start rolling in lol! Just trying to think outside the box.
  19. U should've built it urself. These engines are soooo simple. I had zero knowledge of these engines and have built 2 of em. Could've saved urself a lot of $$.
  20. Ive never bought or sold anything on here, but I assumed everyone on here were good ppl and honest. Apparently there are a few out there who are trying to make a buck at someone else's expense. I got my ass ripped a long time ago when I bought cylinders from a friend of mine here local and when I went and picked em up I just put em in a box. That was when all hell broke lose! He said "You don't put cylinders ina box without wrapping em you F'n dumba**" "What the hell is the matter with you?" Its just common sense to wrap items and secure them from sloppin around breakin shit. Alfie and I have not seen eye to eye on certain issues and have gone back and forth wit each other, but dude that totally blows and I feel bad for ya as much as we don't care for each other. No matter how much we agree to disagree, I wouldn't have kicked u below the belt like that.
  21. Me and my friend were riding at a track and I hit a jump with a little rock ledge at the top and kicked my back end up and I went off the side and whiplashed my head into the dirt. I cracked my helmet and had nosebleeds and saw spots for several days. Bcuz of that, I am a firm believer in helmets. Yeah they are hot and sweaty, but wear one, u'll be thankful you did if something does happen.
  22. Clutch noise I bet. Mine is loud and I freaked out and tore it all apart and absolutley nothing wrong with it.
  23. i started with the motor. from the sounds of it, u have some motor issues. i would start with the motor. 4 bolts hold the motor in. if u have questioins, just start a thread on here and u'll have answers in no time. just take ur time and dont get in a hurry.
  24. Fix it urself. I didn't know anything about rebuilding one until i started tearin it apart. check out my thread called "build is complete" if i can u can. only limit is money, it can get expensive.
