  1. Don't know HP gain but make sure you run outerwears. Outerwears are not waterproof but help repel water. Are you running a K&N now with the airbox?
  2. Thanks esterelbanshee. I'm going to get them cleaned up and done right.
  3. What’s the best way to make sure that the impeller and gears are working properly? Want to make sure my coolant is flowing.
  4. I was able to press mine on with my thumbs.
  5. I think it's the jets and something with that one carb even thou I've completly rebuilt it. I'm putting those on the shelf and putting the ones I got from you on next time. Thanks for the help. I'll check those things out too.
  6. I can tell you this thing screams if I could ever get my lean issue fixed. We'll see what Jeff says when he gets them.
  7. pm sent
  8. Oh and when it happend the first time, i replaced the crank so I know everything was clean. I'll pull the crank this week and make sure my new one is clean after this episode.
  9. I did a leak down test after the rebuild and also when I pulled the motor before posting these pics. No leaks.
  10. If everything is equal, I don't understand how the pistons can look so different. I'm sending my stuff off to FAST and let them sort it out.
  11. What causes detonation?
  12. Thanks guys. I'm going to send them off to FAST and let them check em out.
  13. Bought my Banshee used and wanted some feedback on the port job. Does this look good, normal, like crap...you tell me.
  14. Check out these pics and let me know if this is from being lean? If so, why does my other piston look so different?

  16. I couldn’t find that Permatex locally so I stopped by a local motorcycle shop and they had the threebond. It's good stuff. If you're going to use Permatex, don't use any other kind other than whats in the picture. The others won't hold up.
  17. Can't believe my jetting was that far off. Hate learning the hard way but it's only time and money, neither which I have lots of. I'll rebuild and use bigger jets and try again. Thanks for all the help guys.
  18. Forgot about the Cool Head w/ 20 cc domes on the list of mods. I'm running pump gas, 93 octain. I do my riding in south GA and central FL and the weathers been 60+ the few times I've rode before this happened. The K&N has the plate for mounting in the stock airbox. I was at 270 when the first melt down happened, then went to 300 this time around. It was running very strong in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd. The only time I got up to the higher gears is when it melted. Sounds like I need to go up even more on the jets next time. Bought a set of carbs last week on here, looks like I'll try them next time just to be safe. I just hope all the metal shavings didnt f up my new crank with less than 3 hrs on it!!! Thanks for all the help.
  19. I did replace crank seals. I'm going to do another leak down before I tear it apart to make sure that isn’t the cause. I'll post pics of the plugs tonight. Was planning on doing a plug chop this weekend but as soon as I went WOT, it melted. I'm going to replace the petcock and gas cap this time around to be safe. The float height is good.
  20. So I rebuilt my top end (bought it used and didn’t have much compression) and after running hard, I melted my left piston. Did another rebuild, installed new crank and top end, rebuilt my carbs, went to 300 on my jets, did a leak down, held 6lbs for 6 minutes and this past weekend, after running WOT, melted the same piston again!!! My mods are..T5's, K&N, stock air box, no lid, 300 jets, boysen reeds. Been told that my jugs have had port work done just don't know what kind. What would be causing this issue? Something in my left carb maybe? I don't want to rebuild this thing for the third time just to have the same issue. She ran amazing before the melt down but just got the opportunity to run WOT this past weekend. She would die when I would let off the throttle and I was dumping the clutch to start her back up then she just died for good.
  21. I run a stock stroke Wiseco crank and havent had any problems.
  22. I couldn’t agree more. I love the look of Banshee's. It's just wrong to have that plastic on there.
  23. Follow this and you'll be fine. http://www.toomey.com/html/pro-ban_store.htm
