  1. BTW, a Banshee is probably the easiest engine to work on. Everything lays in bottom case then upper goes on. Clean mating surface PUSSY clean. Use plumber's acid brush to spread Yamabond or 3bond, NO SILICON !!
  2. Put a Wiseco crank in my son's, doesn't get rode a lot of , but hard when he does. Also used one for a repair job 2yrs ago, haven't heard anything from him. How did you determine piston size. Only once have I used a new piston in an old hole. Couple things you could do for your style of riding. Increase main jet, gear it up, use more oil in gas, maybe oversized radiator. What kind of oil you using, what ratio ?
  3. At least on here I recognize names that have been around as long as I have. Are people so full of Tide pods they can't Google something? I don't get it.
  4. What does it do with a snort of starting fluid ??
  5. If the tip isn't same length as plug, or Schrader valve isn't at the end, you'll get a low reading. A Craftsman should be cheapest one you should get. HF or other cheapies don't cut it.
  6. An engine that spins at 9,000+ rpm, you really want shit to be right. Cheap usually ends up costing more
  7. Well, time to update. First off, this was kinda trolling thread I may be old and crazy, but I'm not stupid This was mostly to share about such a shit job of assembly. Picked up a set of cylinders, pistons, and better domes. Still have to inspect crank closer. Probably end up with new. So, one cylinder was missing water plug. One had too small of piston, too small of domes, and a half rebuilt crank. I was doing better work than that at the lawn mower shop back in 1969.
  8. You get what you pay for, if you're lucky.
  9. No brainier here When two cylinders, pistons, carbs, gaskets, etc. Costs less than two Wiseco pistons, ain't much to think about.
  10. I know the early warrior had screw in ball joints, but are they still available?
  11. All as described !! Seamless transaction ! Thank you !!
  12. What gasket are you referring to?
  13. I don't think Banshee and leisure go together X-3 on complete bike. A Banshee being parted out would bring more than if sold whole. I picked up a complete bike for $500. Motor has lots of issues but I should have a running bike for about $1200. Won't be no garage queen for that price, but I'm ok with that. BTW, WELCOME !!
  14. Thought it would be like one video. Which one am I supposed to watch ??
  15. Trans oil will stink and be bluish. Antifreeze will be whiteish steam and smell sweet. FYI : QUALITY DOESN'T COST , IT PAYS!!
  16. PM sent, don't see your Email address.
  17. If possible I'd like to pick up those cylinders. I'm a feely meely type of person. But if not I'll have to find someone with PayPal. If you're OK with me picking them up, call me and we'll work it out.

810-412-4545 Ask for John. Late afternoon or 'till about 9:30pm

  18. Right side smoke could be crank seal, keyway/collar needs to be sealed, worst case is a mating surface leak, float level to high, leaking needle, seat, O ring. Do a leak down test.
  19. I would check with a builder like fast . At 6,000 ASL you'll need smaller than 20cc to get compression up enough. One of the builders had a chart of compression VS elevation. By chance are you in S. Africa?
  20. Were it me I would only turn 1/8th at a time, blip throttle and wait.
  21. Didn't catch the porting other than it was lumped in with head. Now the rest of the story !! Had you mentioned it ran fine before you painted it, someone might suggest that you check the ground.
  22. That's what I was thinking !! Bet he meant 280. If it's running on a 380 you have a PROBLEM !!
  23. I suggest doing a leak down test before teardown. Rules out air leak as cause. Also wash it off BEFORE !! Crank, pistons , bore, etc $800-900. Get a Clymers Repair manual or download the PDF.
  24. PM must be lost in the interwebs. Give me as much info as possible when you can.
