  3. And if you let it sit all winter with coolant in the bearings, you might be doublely fucked. If the shop did the top end, why didn't you get ahold of them right away ??

  5. My son is needing new brakes on his 03 Silverado SS. Been looking around a bit and thinking of Power stop brakes from Summit racing. Any input appreciated. Want to stay middle of road price wise. Is upgrading to drilled/slotted rotors, maybe ceramic pads ? Mostly a summer DD , light to maybe medium towing.

  9. Check all connections are clean and tite. Clean nubs on flywheel, set gap. Trim 1/4 from plug wires install caps. Ohmed coil and caps separately? Tors/parking brake disco'd? Unplug kill and bypass key switch.
  10. Go through harness looking for a bad wire, all connections clean/tight. Might have to get compulsive harness. Might consider trying a different cdi. Wish I had a dollar for every time someone comes on with an issue with a brand new Ricky that ohms out but don't work. A simple Google search may have saved you a headache.
  11. So how's that impeller working for ya? Might be good time to rule out a bad impeller.
  12. So the port job is new addition, and now you need to jet. Since this is a new build, have you leak tested it? Read up on how to do a plug chop/ read. Start large, work down. "Baby Bottle" is my way of slamming boost bottles. Hell, they don't even need a crossover tube. Obviously you need something to plug the hole.

  14. BTW, ditch the baby bottle, does absofuckinglutely nothing but crack the carb boots.
  15. This a new to you ride? Or new set-up? IMO, you're probably lean. What elevation you at?
  16. I just used some PVC caps that fit the carb boots. Installed with three bond and clamps. It showed some cracking and started leaking about 4yrs later.
  17. If that isn't your problem, some day it will be.
  18. Did you set float level?
  19. Down and dirty test, when it starts to bog, pull choke out. If worse, you're rich. If better you're lean, possible air leak.
  20. Might also pressure test the rad/cooling system. It's rated for 14/17 lbs you'll find leak easier. Did you install head gaskets right side up? Coolant plugs in bottom of jugs? New gaskets on cyl base?
  21. More info needed on your set up/mods. IMO, fields and trails seems like two different uses. If you're stock now I would say FMF or DMC. Get them used cheep.
  22. The maintenance question was to see if maybe you maybe cleaned the air filter, carbs, things that affect performance. As to spark, is it fat blue or lazy yellow? What Stator do you have? Have you checked pick up coil gap? Fresh fuel?
  23. Dunno, seems like two different stories. Second description sounds like air leak/runaway engine. I suggest compression and leakdown test.
