  1. Pull your carb and reeds and look. If you see a lot tape a small hose to a vacume and clean most out. Worst case pull the jug.
  2. I do belive thats the same as Blaster wheels, just get some Blaster hubs. They will fit Banshee axle.
  3. Welcome to BHQ !! You can either mod your timing plate or get an adjustable one, billit is best. Obviously repair stripped threads.. Clean poles on stator , inside of flywheel, and lugs on outside of flywheel. Set pick-up coil gap after assembly. What are your plans while you have top end apart? Consider new rings while you have it apart.
  4. Hey welcome to BHQ !! The search funtion is your friend. But now that I'm here .......... If changing one jet instead of two is a prime concern then 2:1 is for you. Some actually like them ,99.999% of the rest stick to twin carbs for the performance factor. JMHO, your results may vary.
  5. Shift claw is out of adjustment or worn.
  6. Old fuel might give you problems , old summer fuel in the winter.
  7. They are hard to find but the best HEAD is a "Swallow".
  8. You had me going. I thought you wanted to put the banshee in the ninja.
  9. Couple things to do BEFORE you tear it down. First what do the plugs look like? Next, do a compression test. Tester must be same length as plug threads. Both plugs out, kick till gauge stops moving. Post results. Because you mentioned the oil dripping from exhaust makes me think that you didn't melt it down, BUT that doesn't mean your mechanic didn't FUBAR it. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=135591
  10. Reading and understanding are two different things. This posting only scratches the surface. Read Gorden Gennings and A. Gram Bell .
  11. That's just what I was hoping to hear. Bought a bunch of stuff for $120 , think we paid 30-35 for the pipes and silecers. Not good shape ,but little VHT, good to go. I'm getting 27.5 pilots and 310, 320, 330 mains to start.
  12. I've got a set of gold series I'm putting on soon as it get a little warmer. You have any idea what kind of power they make? Low, mid , high? Thanks!!
  13. As Paul Harvey would say "And now the rest of the story" Sorry if I seemed hard towards you with my other post .Don't know what you can do other than mess with it for now. I guess get your other supporting pieces as soon as possible.
  14. Saw some on E-gay recently, may still be there
  15. After you get silencer mounted maybe space front mount out if possible. Move that vent hose too.
  16. You could ohm the caps, don't have the value in front of me ,it's in the Clymers. If you replace them use NGK, cut 1/4 inch off wire before install. X-2 on leakdown. Did you talk to your builder/porter about your set-up you're running? I don't know a lot about different set-ups but IIRC, T-6s are for stock cyl, and single carb are mostly for trail set-up at best. With drag porting you might not have a strong enough signal at low rpms and not enough carb for high rpms , along with the pipes choking it. JMHO, your results may and will vary.
  17. Yeah, I've heard of your mechanic. He's worked all over the place. His name is Ben Dover. If you paid $1000 for it and you put $900 into it , you're not going to get $1900 out of it. If you know which end of a wrench to grab you can do it your self. If you wanted to be cheap and peddle it you could throw a set of rings in it and dump it. Cheap pistons and rings ,hone job , dump. Do it right yourself and keep it and have something to build on. You can get stock carbs all day long for less than $100 , tho your engine would die long before enough dirt went through carbs to totally destroy them. JMHO, your results may and will vary.
  18. What did you get to start with? Roller, blown, poor motor? What did you give? Still think this is a great idea.
  19. Get acompression tester with a 5/8 - 3/4 long adapter. Warm it up, shut down, fuel off ,both plugs out, throttle wide open, kick till guage stops moving. do both sides. stock engine should be no less than 120 if good. Length of adapter is important because if it is short it wiil give a low reading. Might be able to get one from autozone on rent a tool.
  20. Do a leak down and comp test before you tear it down, plus find out where the "milk" is from. Welcome to BHQ. Check the trans for signs of a water leak into it, either water pump seal or 'o' ring.
  21. You'll burn the stator if you don't use the 35s.
  22. Welcome to BHQ. Hard to tell without taking something apart. For up grades consider shocks, extended a-arms, new front tires. For motor consider reeds and larger carbs, better air filter. Depends on money, what you want. What rear tires you using for trails? Search around and see what others are using.
  23. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=135591
  24. You may have answered your own question. If 188 is what you had before porting you have to jet up. Kind of odd combo , drag port/single carb. Any time amout of air flow is changed, jets must be changed.
