  1. Been wrenching on shit since dirt was still new , but 99.99% of what I've learned about Banshee's I got here. Follow threads to learn how problems are solved. You'll learn what info will be needed when you get a Shee and have a problem. As to trail riding, set up right it's just as easy as any other quad.
  2. What kind of head pipes do you have? By slip-ons you mean silencers? What kind of air filter set-up?
  3. 270 - 310 , 27.5 pilot. Little more info would help to get it closer. Especially what jets are in it now, as you may have an air leak that jetting won't cure. Presume you mean boost bottle? Well known to cause leaks, check boots and throw that junk out.
  4. Your choice of plugs might be the problem. Do you know if what you have is even the right heat range? If there was anything better than br8 everyone here would be on it like stink on shit. Might be br8es,lol. What ratio you mixing oil/gas?
  5. Welcome to the HQ !! Check that all grounds are clean and tight. Same with all connections and switches. Presume new wires with coil? List up all your mods and settings (pipes, filter, jetting, etc) How do plugs look? On my son's shee I had to clean rust off poles on stator, inside of flywheel, and lugs on outside of flywheel, set pick-up gap, to get rid of one cyl miss.
  6. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=135591 Little how to
  7. Grave digger Just buy parts made for a Banshee and FUCK the Presidential Solution. Read ALL the threads about YFZ arms and you'll find half ended up ditching them and the other half won't admit a mistake PM me for explination of a Presidential Solution
  8. OOPS, forgot to mention that you have to be UN-manly and actually read the directions . NO plastic or rubber in the cleaner. Good call Jereme
  9. I used 1/2" pvc caps with threebond and clamps to delete boost bottle because of cracks.
  10. Doubt you're making 80hp, takes a little more for that. No matter what there will always be someone faster and you will always want more.
  11. I seem to recall the DMC buy taking forever. Maybe oversize radiators ??
  12. http://bansheehq.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=99361 Look through this for simular set-up for your jetting. Start with the richist and work your way down. Someone here will also help. Those pipes look better than my son's $35 FMF Golds
  13. If you have more money then sense, take it to a shop. If you know which end of a wrench to grab do it yourself. Like already posted, get a Clymers manual, and a little help here you'll be set. Read and re-read a section to understand what you need to do before starting. This isn't rocket sceince here. Also start reading threads so you can understand the terminoligy and possible problems.
  14. Have you actually soaked the carbs in carb cleaner like Berrymans? Then blow air thru ALL passages making sure it come out somewhere else? Paying close attention (now) to the choke circut? Same with the bowls. Not much on choke plunger except an O-ring. All I know about bowls is the one with "BB" goes on left carb.
  15. Possibly fuel delivery problem? Bad petcock or float level or cap vent. Search "plug chop", to much to type.
  16. What do your plugs look like or have you done a plug chop? Try running in 6th WO and pull choke halfway out , if it improves your'e lean. Reason I think you may be lean, my son's shee is unported 4mill , FMF Gold pipes, K&N, no lid, 310 main,27.5 pilot. Being that it has 2mil head spacer rather than cyl spacer basically it's de-ported.
  17. Stevie Wonder says it's bent
  18. Ya, those big buck reeds are great, if you really can use them. Do a search for "ported reed cage", Most any example EXCEPT by slomo will help show what's needed. Single stage CF will benifit top end power while dual stage will benifit low end throttle response. Depends on riding style / what you want. I didn't think much of porting the cages until I saw some pics and really looked at them (actually feel them). I'm slow, spent maybe two hours on the Blasturd cage with Dremel. Next time I have the shee down I'll do them, probably go little quicker.
  19. http://www.blasterforum.com/engine-13/banshee-engine-40171/index2.html Final answer? This is where I found it to begine with.
  20. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Banshee-DUNCAN-aftermarket-PYRAMID-reeds-87-06-/290574915592?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item43a79d5808 http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Boyesen-Power-Reeds-Yamaha-Banshee-1987-2006-/280640960301?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item415781372d http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/YAMAHA-BANSHEE-DUAL-PEDAL-REEDS-/110450407950?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item19b75b7a0e Couple examples of reeds for you. Depending on budget and desired output dual stage or CF on ported cages might fill the bill. Personally have Vito's on both Banshee and Blaster . Ported the cage on the Blasturd. Been satisfied with them.
  21. Least it wasn't a Banshee wished vid didn't stop so soon, wondered if he had more than a bruised ego
  22. Why would anyone hate you for this hybrid? I think it would be a great swap. Swear I saw a simular idea here or another site recently. Wish Yamaha had a "newer" small bike to do simular swap, all I can think of is 250 or 500 Ninja, lol. Will this be a track only bike? Guess there were very few of these imported with full road legal lights.
  23. Kicker idler gear bushing going out?
  24. Shit I'm just down the road from you Close to simular set (kinda) 27.5 pilots, 310 main, probably still rich. That's what I would try.
