  1. http://www.thecrankshopvt.com/index.php?osCsid=jeh5739bjuh5t26vkifijmrbe6 One of my brain cells came back to life.
  2. When I built a sno-mo drag bike I used a shop in Vermont or Maine, don't remember nor the name been long ago. They specialize in Rotax motors and Titainium shafts. Sled works, Sled Shop, something like that. For bearings we just used three bolt double flange sled stuff.
  3. your last senario describes my son's set-up. Unported 4mil with 2mil solid copper head gasket/spacer, stock head. Obviously porting for 4mil and stroker domes can achieve highest output. Cyl spacers would probably be closer to or advanced timing over stock, but the pistons travel 4mm below bottom of port. 2mil head spacer ports would be delayed from stock and pistons travel 2mm below bottom of port. It was like this when he purchased it. It runs good with FMF Gold pipes, has tons of tourque.
  4. I'm sofa king we todd did and blind too I'm running simular but slightly less set-up, 310, 27.5, stock needle middle clip, 1 1/2 turns, 1000 ft I'd start 320, changing jets is easier than pistons. As to you're pilots not many run much more than 27.5s.
  5. If they are stock there is the choke cross-over tube. Bout 3 in long right across from choke knob.
  6. What carbs are you using?
  7. what kind of cars you running?
  8. YES !! List your complete set-up, elevation, temp and someone will help you further. Welcome to BHQ !!
  9. Are you talking couple hrs cold or couple days? My son's needs a shot ot starting fluid if it sits for several days. Are you using choke? When was last time carbs were well cleaned? Choke circut may be gummed.
  10. Working on nephews Banshee and throttle shaft is as loose as an 8 Mile whore . I have searched 3 forums here, Bike Bandit and two site sponsers, and don't see a replacement bushing. Are they available somewhere or does he need to buy a complete housing?
  11. kicker and shift shaft, some might also have throttle shaft
  12. Millenium Technologies, in Minnasota I think. Might want to talk to some of the sponsers cause they might get it done cheaper than someone off the street. I should have said less expensive.
  13. Did it just start this or been this way since you got it? What do plugs look like?Pressure test cooling system. Pull water pump cover and plate off pump. Inspect impellor, pull spark plugs so you can roll it over easier, hold light pressure on impellor and crank with kicker felling for gear skipping. Maybe try new rad cap.
  14. at this point might as well get comeplete seal kit, only two left
  15. well maybe. the right seal is sucking trans fluid. If the left was sucking lots of air it may not pull enough fuel/air to even fire. I would suggest a leak down test. Then again it could be dirty carbs. Did you clean them? How long did you actually have it running? Did you try giving left side a LITTLE shot of starting fluid while it was running? Was this running before the new pistons? Has it been sitting for a long time? More info/history needed.
  16. If you split the case put new crank seals in, if you haven't by the sounds of description of seal you might want to. JMHO, your results may vary
  17. Well, then poop , crap, doo-doo . It means unless you fix the lean condition it will melt down and blow the fuck up. Causes: air leak, improper jetting, dirty carbs. Overheating can cause leanness, leanness can cause overheating. Why do you think it's lean? List symptoms and everything about your set-up and someone may help you further.
  18. You had new top end "put on" By who? Even if it was your best bud, didn't they even start it? Smoke is from bad crank seal.
  19. You keeping rest of mods same??
  20. did you or "builder" do a leakdown test? Did you figure out why you blew hole in piston? If you look around you will not see many with that much timing, and it won't be average build. That much comp I wouldn't run less than straight 110. JMHO, your results may, and will vary.
  21. seeing you're at see level I'd start at 310 and work down from there
  22. http://www.stellarmachineandperformance.com/ Check here also
  23. For $3g I can put a new crank, pistons, etc and have enough left over to buy a decent shee for myself Bring it on over.
  24. Take a close look at the pins the claw hooks into on drum, also look at the claw closely
  25. First thing is only change one thing at a time. Generally speaking needle clip should be in middle. The more you turn air screw out the leaner it is. Did you put the washer and slosh guard back on main jet? Is it smoking equal out both sides? Do you shake quad before starting to re-mix fuel after it sits for a day or two? Gas evaporates quickly in hot weather, might have had oil and no gas in bowl when you tried it last. Try putting needle back in middle notch and 1 1/2 turns on screw. When you try it next time see if you can pull choke halfway while trying 1/8-1/4 throttle. if it seems better youre lean at that point. Is it a sputtering type bog or flat bog?
