  1. unless your cylinders have some nice portwork,i would just buy a fresh set of jugs
  2. They arent giving enough information. It probably has to do with the whole setup. If he is using a spacer plate and stock pin piston and short rod,and you go and use a long rod and no spacer, and cut the heads, the timing will be different. If he is running no spacer, and has the head cut, then you could run a long rod and a 795.
  3. I got fed up with my old lt250r,and traded it for a 400ex,first ride out on the ex i broke a shift fork,And i had to tear down the whole motor, and i will never do it again
  4. Here is what i ran into when i did this swap just a month ago. i have a 95' chassis so i had all parts on hand. Well the newer calipers will obviously only bolt to the newer spindles so you know you need those. I also noticed on my 87 hubs, the bolts that hold the front discs on stick out pretty far,and the bolts that hold the discs on the newer hubs are more recessed. So when i went to put the 87 hubs on the bolts hit the spindle,so i had to use newer front hubs too. I dont know if they are all like this, but mine were.
  5. I almost used a short rod so i didnt have to use 795 pistons
  6. Is this a loud knock? All engines make some noise. I have an older bore/worn out clutch basket/loose as hell kicker--and it runs great, and i beat the hell out of it. Still 135 psi per side and kickin! Its ironic that you mentioned this i was riding with my buddy yesterday and he kept getting me to listen to his banshee idle, saying it was making noise,i was like "dude your being paranoid shut yours off and listen to mine" after that he just laughed and rode the rest of the day no worries
  7. Wait, are you saying you gave someone parts without getting any money up front? If so,thats still fucked up of him but you should know better
  8. I can barely understand what your trying to say
  9. It is pointless to go with a 4mil unless you do it right. Your trinity carb if its a 33 is a little on the small side. To be properly setup for a 4mil you need to have the port timing changed, then you need wiseco 795's and either run a spacer plate,or have your head cut. Theres a whole lot with a 4mil,if it runs right it will kill a stock clutch basket in one summer of riding, ect ect ect.
  10. Nice bike with those mods i would say 260-ish on the mains,27.5 pilots,2 turns out on the air screw.
  11. The reason 450's can be so quick is they put a lot of power to the ground instead of spinning. I can outrun my girlfriends yfz450 all day on pavement, but put us on some hardpacked dirt and that thing will beat me everytime.
  12. Haha i got a couple of banshees ill race against your turdzilla lol
  13. Grinding up your intake without doing anything to the transfers or exhaust is really not going to do much. Portwork is an extremely precise process and if you arent experienced you will most likely dor more damage than good
  14. Wow bored to a 580 huh? stock sleave? who built it?
  15. I have been running a vitos 4mil in my bike for a long time,no problems yet
  16. If it runs and rides good then i would buy it in a second. Its hard to find nice stock banshees in the 1500 range where im from.and the a arms and axle and tires would cost way over 500 more,so ya i think its a good deal
  17. You cannot make a quad street legal in ohio,ky,or indiana, I have studied this exstensively. There are only a few states it can be made street legal in,arizona, and i think utah and one other. But dont quote me on what 3 states it is. The reason for atv's not being legal in most (not all) other states has nothing to do with emmisions or being a 2 stroke. There are loads of 2 stroke street bikes that are legal in all states. The first prototypes of the dodge neon were 2 strokes. It has to do with wheelbase and not having safety equipment. Its because most of the dmv's view anything with 4 wheels in the same rules category as cars, and cars must have a certain wheelbase, seatbelts ect ect. This is why some trikes and 3 wheel machines like that bombardier 3 wheeler thing can be made legal, they fall into the motorcycle category and not the car. I actualy used to chat with a guy who had a street legal banshee, and he said it was more of a pain in the ass than it was worth. he said he got pulled over basicaly every single time he took it out,and had to explain to the cops and show the registration. There was also an issue of dirtwheels where they made a 450r street legal in arizona and did a road test.
  18. Well how many reasons do you want. Weak spark/low compression/dirty carbs/wrong pilots/dirty air filter ect ect ect I would take a compression tester, low compression is the biggest one. I would test the psi,and if its under 115 or the cylinders are more than 10 psi off from eachother,i would walk away or get some cash knocked off the price for a rebuild
  19. AMEN to that this joker needs pointed out!
  20. Why in the world would you not post his name? If you name the person the rest of us can avoid him and not get screwed. But if you dont its in limbo and makes people afraid to buy anything,as proof,i just logged into the site to look through the classifieds, and now theres no way in hell im going to buy anything for fear of buying from whoever that is. I agree you should be super pissed, rightfully so,but he needs to be named unless negotiations are pending. Just like the other day theres some kid in a thread trying to get his banshee to run long enough just to sell it. People need to be honest and come through or GTFO
  21. I have done some crazy stuff with jb weld that never broke, how big of a spot are we talking? You are going to get 50 people telling you jb weld wont work,If you use the good kind, and do it right,it should work.
  22. Dont forget to change your jetting before you go out lol.....
