  1. I found an area under some nearby power lines I'd like to use as a drag lane and an oval track but there are small trees and weeds and brush in this area. I took the Trailblazer and rode it slow to get the layout but even after 100 times around the brush still flips up after I drive over it. I took a couple of tires and roped 'em together and dragged that around which only knocked down the flimsy weeds. Do you guys know of anything I can use to knock down the brush {too big for a push mower} and perhaps even level out the dirt a little? I've been thinking of trying to get an iron plate and sharpen the front edge and drag that over the area but that's not going to be easy to find and I'd have to drop it off at the spot which would be extremely difficult. Bobcat and tractor impossible and even riding lawnmower would be almost impossible. Your hints would be much appreciated.
  2. I have Bandits and they don't grip that well on loose rocks but they grip ok on the trails. I'm happy with the durability. They handle alot of abuse and I had flats alot and I don't now with the Bandits.
  3. Go to the local dollar store and buy two cans of oven cleaner. Preferrably the kind that requires the oven to be hot. The pipes do not need to be hot, that formula just seems to work better. Spray about 1/3 of a can in each pipe and slosh it around in there until you think everything is coated. Let it sit for about 15-20 minutes and then hose it out. Repeat if you feel it's needed. I've used this stuff to clean the worst baked on crap from the insides of silencers and it works great and it's dirt cheap. Even works great on de-greasing parts but it WILL STRIP PAINT if the paint is not powder coated or factory yamaha paint. So be careful. You may want to make sure there is a breeze outside when you do it and DO NOT breathe the fumes or get it on your skin. IT BURNS.

    trailer wanted

Boat trailers can be gotten pretty cheap this time of year if you live near some of the small lakes. It usually just takes a little plywood to get 'em ready for ATV's.
  5. So what did you do? I see you ended the auction.
  6. I would trade it for my Works Dual Rates too but I would need it delivered and I really would like to know the compression.
  7. Thanks for the offer Led but I got a case of those at Sams Club with my SS check on the first of the month. A Man's gotta have priorities
  8. roost thrower gets the award... he's closest to my actual age. September 8th is my wedding anniversary so it's been 14 years of wedded bliss . I must say that of all the decisions I've made {most with the insight of a 14 year old } getting married has been the best. For those of you guys who are married to an excellent woman, you know what I mean and for those who are still searching, the search is well worth it. Thanks for the addaboys and I'll pass that on to my wife. BTW I haven't quite perfected the "pick up pebble with chopstick". At my age I'm doing well to pass the "get soup to mouth without getting it on shirt" exercise. Time for my nap
  9. It could be any of the bearings either in the pivot point at the frame or the carrier but I wouldn't rule out the sprockets. If the chain doesn't fit into the sprockets perfectly, the chain will walk up the teeth and it will put much more tension on the chain than just the abuse you are giving it. You also need to check your motor mounts, The rear may not be twisting but the engine may be twisting under torque but sit relatively correct when at a stand still. If you need the pivot bearings, let me know I can give you the HQ discount. Send me an email... [email protected]
  10. Judjing by the looks on the agents faces, I'd say they put 'em up to it Oh Yeah... "Buy now and get a free puppy"
  11. The job market is really tight in spite of what the politicians like you to think. I quit my job after 7+ years because of the corruption and the fact that in 7 years I had 5 bosses and the last 2 were only there to pressure as many employees to leave as possible so the company could "re-organize" for the 3rd time. Anyway, I went to work doing mortgages for a friend of mine who owns a brokerage firm but so far I have had zero income since April. I've had my resume on Monster and other websites since then and I've managed to get 1 person to call me who was desperate for immediate help and after a 5 minute discussion we both agreed that they needed someone other than me for that position. Even during this entire summer, my 16 year old applied at every retail store, grocery store, bank, you name it probably 30 places and he only got a job about a month ago working at Gap. I don't know where all the frickin money went that was flowing so freely in the late 90's and early 00's but it sure ain't flowing around here. You could always move by me Ray and get a job at Abbott Labs but you'd have to drive all the way around the lake to visit home and there ain't much riding around here either
  12. It's a 250 right? What is the compression? Have you ever heard it run? is it shaft drive?
  13. All I see is the red X and you never posted prices on the Blaster stuff or the ninja engine. And where do you live?
  14. I've got a bunch of crap left over from my last engine I parted out. If you can give me a pic or diagram or something, I can probably just drop the right thing in the mail for you.
  15. Who is the manufacturer?
  16. That all depends on where you live and the overall condition. If it's basically stock and runs and you live in the Chicago area around $1000 to $1800 but that's only a guess without pics.
  17. Send me a list of stuff you want in trade and I'm sure we can work something out... [email protected]
  18. I'll take those bent A arms. Send me an email with your Paypal address so I can figure shipping... [email protected]
  19. You're always getting cool new parts is that your second or third kidney?
  20. We did that a couple years ago at Black River Falls in Wisconsin. It's a heck of alot of miles but a really good time. Wish I could do it more often. Any break downs/ mis-haps?
  21. I sent you an email. You can reply to... [email protected]
  22. Send me a pic and if it looks good, I'll give you the one off my 99. I want to see overall axle and the nut at the carrier and the nuts that hold on the hubs. Send it to... [email protected]
  23. That bad boy has my name all over it Need any banshee parts for it?
  24. That would not necessarily lead to a softer pull since you would have to stretch the spring to it's original length and each coil would have to move more as the carb slide traveled. If you think about it a coil spring is just a twisted torsion spring. So if you had to twist a steel bar, you would want it as long as you could possibly make it. A piece of 1/4x 2" flat bar that is 1 foot long is impossible to twist by hand but a piece that is 10 feet long can be twisted by hand at least a little. So by shortening the spring, you are probably actually making it harder to compress.
  25. It's easy enough to do isn't it?
