  1. you remove the cable from the thumb throttle and dump motor oil or cable lube inside and work the cable in and out
  2. the plug chop, is---->warm up engine to operating temp, put new plugs in, start it, and instantly pin it through as many gears as possible( at least 10 seconds wot only) kill the engine, pull the clutch and coast or brake to a stop, and change the plugs again. do a search on chops, and you'll get pics on what it should look like
  3. clean your fuel tank screen and valve. you may be running the bowls low
  4. have you done the tors removal? have you lubed your cables? check your cable retainers, and make sure they aren't bolted on backwards. there is a little relief hole in the slide underneath the retainer. it should be uncovered
  5. also, your motor might like less timing. just try different settings within the safe range, and see what feels best. do a plug chop to check for detonation. you should see any specs of metal with a magnifying glass

  12. what mods/jetting? all of a sudden, or getting worse? have you done a plug read? could've skipped a chain tooth, plugged a jet lost a pin bearing, any number of things. does it pop out of the intake/exhaust
  13. can't really give you a measurement, but 1/2 turn, and 1 clip off can give you bogging or hesitation
  14. 16/40 will get you more top speed, and you need the carbs, cables, and intakes
  15. it does sound a bit rich. x2 on the plug chops.

  17. simple question; simple answer. stroke it. stock is already at the end of the bore/stroke spectrum.
  18. are you gonna be using the fuel from the gas station @ 2500ft, or from a lower elevation, and ridding @2500ft? if they sell gas up there, it'll need 2 sizes richer than lower elevation fuel@ 2500ft, which would put you @ 320-330 mains.
  19. do a search on the boost bottle in the repairs and mods section. the biggest problem with cracking is thae aren't always spaced right, and put alot of strain on the intake nipples. if they helped your lowend, then you were rich. check this thread link
  20. x3, you don't want to zebra the look. red springs, or shock covers, mabey calipers and carrier/or brake and sproket hubs. just use the red as an accent.

  22. holly shit! 1 more for the AK. so was that pipe leaking alot of exhaust? what jets are you running? what fuel are you running? check your compression. check the reeds- is one of the carbs spitting fuel out the backside? where do you ride? have you checked out jim creek lately?
  23. is the hesitation like a stutter, a bog when you push the throttle a little more? did you put the needle all the way up to make it run better. it does sound like you may need to go up on the mains. i would start with 320-330, and do a plug chop, then set the needle, then the pilot.
  24. i would verify the humidity in vegas, but if it is really dry, then the jetting would be pretty close in those regards. -1 for the temp; +1 for a significant drop in humidity. i would just take 2 sizes in either direction, and tune it when you get there, because the fuel and other variables.
  25. i know, but i worked for me. used to have a lightswitch powerband with my pipes, then switched the reeds for the boysen dual stage (the clear low end reeds) and i completely flattened the powerband, picking up from down low. i'm gonna use them with the pcp's and get some carbon fibre's for the white pipes
