  1. Heya all..after A couple of years playing with 4poker quads and MX bikes ive decided to come back to my beloved banshees...Just purchased a 2000 model and am chasing any suggestions on building something that really stands out..Ill be mostly riding trials and sand dunes so dont really wanna stretch it out..but want sumthing FAST, SMOOTH and looks good.Am probally gonna try a MONSTER ENERGY theme/colours.Bike basically already has TOOMEY T4s, single carb conversion,K&N filter..everything else is fairly standard.. Any suggestions will be great cheers ROBBO
  2. hey guys just wanting some info on splitting the engine cases.. im splitting them to change all the seals etc..how hard is it ?? is there anything to be carefull off ? some told me the main thing to do is get the timing back in the correct place??? any info would be great appreciated.. cheers
  3. ok done a search but didnt find any help.... seen alot of ppl using a +4 timing plate..now ive seen a advanced timing KEY which is +3 which they say gains you 1.5hp what hp gain will you get from the plate?? and whats the diff with using the plate or using the key?(besides the plate gives you +4) cheers Rob

  5. ok cheers yeh was gonna look at getting a stainless impeller aswell
  6. ok guys after abit of imput from the guys on the HQ regarding me trying to short cut a crankcase seal replacement ive decided to do it properly and give the motor a full rebuild. Now while its apart what should i check and change ,ill be doing pistons/rings/and rod bearings and just wanted to know what else would be worth changing while its apart. Also i ride a mixture off dune and trail riding so what mods will be good to do while im doing the rebuild, nothing to wild but something fast and reliable and to help it from not overheating in the summers cheers Rob
  7. ok guys cheers for all the reply's, after listening to all those replys ive decided to pull it down completly and give it a full overhaul. didnt really wanna take a short cut its just im hanging for a ride as its been awhile.Glad i can get the help from here.all i gotta do know is persuade the missus to let me spend more on it and do a few extra mods while its apart cheers Rob
  8. ok guys im in the process of changing my crankcase seal on the right hand side,(the seal next to the main shaft with the clutch basket etc)now i got the old one out but the problem im having is getting the new one in as the little rubber ring on the edge of the seal seems to be stopping it from going in,but the old one is the same.Know ive had many ppl and also a few yamaha dealer mechanics tell me it can be done from the outside without spliiting the case.Im just hoping someone on here can help me out as the bike is just about finished the restoration process and im hanging to get out for a ride. so if anyone can tell me how to get it in without splitting the cases that would be great cheers rob
  9. yeh im not too sure how hot it gets in the USA but here in perth Australia its been stinking hot, which is a pain in the ass as the bike is just about back together and weve been having 30 degree days which is around 100F plus . bring on the early winter months cheers Rob
