  1. Yes, that will hold the big bearing in place....but the whole shaft that the clutch attaches to seems to be able to move in and out a lot... I can move the little bearing on the ohter end of that shaft in more so it takes up the slack....Im not sure thats the correct thing to do... The pocket in the case 1/2 seems to have a stop where the bearing would sit all the way aainst this.....shoulder......looks like the correct spot but with this setup the shaft moves a bunch.....Wish it has a metal clip like the others and then I would not have to guess
  2. Well assembly seems to be going fine.....One question.....There seems to be a lot of slop in the clutch/tranmission shaft...... It seems like the shaft can move side to side a bunch..... I can move the small bearing on the end inboard to take up the slack but Im not sure that is correct. The small bearing does not have a ring clip to hold it in a position so it can be moved around before the cases pinch it tight. Just wondering where it should sit at....This is the bearing thats near the clutch release shaft.....Anyone know what im talking about?
  3. Stating to assemble the engine. Yamabond 4.....Do you put a super thin layer on all mating surfaces?? Like the oil seals and bearings?? Seems like the only thing that will hold them in good would be that sealer..... Any other words of wizdom??? I plan on following the clymer manual...any issues in there with missing parts or wrong assembly steps? Thanks for the help!
  4. I did see that cover.....my bike only weighs about 300lbs.....I dont think the loads will be to bad.....The two stroke shop runs the same setup...no problems under race conditions....
  5. Good bunch of guys there! You cant really turn it down the way its made.... It might still work out just fine so I will probably get it anywy just in case Thanks1!
  6. LOL, Its not a banshee but a 535 in a streetbike chassis..... Looking at doing a fat tire in the back, might need a little offset to clear the rear tire......Ya, I dont want to make my own if someone already makes some......If I have to I will........I did find one at www.twostrokeshop.com http://www.twostrokeshop.com/two_stroke_shop_parts.htm ......looks like 1" offset.... Might be a bit too much for what i need... If anyone knows where I can get one??? Gotta be some application for someone needing to do this...I cant be the only one Thanks!
  7. Looking for a custom offset front sproket(needs to stick out a bit more like 1/2")....Wondering who makes one? Any help would be great! Thanks!
  8. saw a nice one on rg500.com.... black billet with gold covers.........anyone seen any other billet covers?
  9. Yes! he has been a great help on my bike
  10. Anyone seen one? who has a picture or know where i can get them? Thanks!

  12. you need small bore banshee drag pipes(hand rolled not stamped ones!). left and right side exit. You will need to modify the pipes a bit to fit the frame. You will loose big power with the pipes made for the rz350 engine....and the small carbs. You will need to cnahe the stinger outlet size a bit larger as well...
  13. ok.....just was wondering if they were balanced....pretty sure they are.....I see the drill marks in many of them.
  14. My current flywheel looks like crap. Looking for a new one. It has no balance marks(holes drilled) so it does not look balanced. Are they balanced from the factory? Ive seen a bunch on ebay but they look like many of them were balanced/drilled. Does anyone make a billet one??? Thanks!
  15. Im building a 535 and I have the same issue. looks like trinity is the only place....A few others do sell them but they make thier own kits...Funny...I get a bunch of folks always wanting to switch me to other stuff...Like the cubs....."We will port it so it makes great power in the midrange"....Guess it can be done but im kinda liking the idea of a complete kit. yes I know the crank is not billet but im not drag racing ....... Love RDZ......they answer the phone.......
  16. No, its the cheetah cyl with power valves...... 73mm bore
  17. Keep an eye on ebay for the parts. Search for "yamaha banshee" and narrow your search to "miles from yur zip code".....anyone selling anything near you will show up.... Go to the local bike shops and post a flyer..... good luck!
  18. Im building a 535 so the 73mm bore is a tad larger than the cubs 72mm..... im thinking it will fit...if it does not then im going to have to machine the block... really dont want to....all the crap is adding up LOL
  19. my 1997 cr500 was not....had steel liners from the factory.... in not saying the cr250 were diffrent im pretty sure they were sleeved and not plated for all those years.....
  20. Ya, im thinking the cyl sleeve would be so close on a 72mm vs 73mm bore that there would be enough play to fit..... Im hoping i dont have to machine the cases to make the 73mm power valve cyl fit....
  21. http://www.dynotunenitrous.com/store/scrip...p?idproduct=174 this is the kit ive used. The fuel solenoid is made for alchy use....
  22. Does anyone have a 73mm cheetah PV cyl on the bench that could measure the sleeve outside diameter? The part that extends down into the engine case...the cyl skirt/sleeve that sticks down. Could you measure the diameter across the outside using a vernier. Im wondering if they will fit my cases that are setup for a 72mm cub cyl..... Anyone know how much clearence there should be from the sleeve to the cases?? Im wondering if they expand much thats why the factory has a lot of slop....like 2mm Thanks for any input......
  23. My cases are machined for 72mm cylinders....will the 73mm cheetah cyl fit without any additional machining? Thanks!
