These things are so easy to work on.....All you have to do is this... 1) Put breaker bar on bolt...very long one.... 2) Put flywheel holding tool on flywheel 3) Put engine on ground 4) heat the bolt with a torch 5) Stand on top of the f-in engine 6) Hit the breaker bar with a small sledge hammer........off it comes....simple.... now to split the case....god help me

No, the gear at the end of the crank shaft......its held on by a nut......Ill try heating it with a torch..... then impact it.....

Nobody has taken off thier main drive gear bolt????? CCW correct???

Got a working impact gun and the dam nut came right off....thanks all! Now the main drive gear nut will not come off......even with the impact gun all the way up and holding the flywheel tight. It does come off CCW correct? Any hints? maybe heat it with a torch???

LOL cant get the main drive gear nut off...got the clutch basket bolt off with the impact gun....but the main drive gear nut is not budging. Holding the flywheel super tight.....impact gun on the nut and its not coming off. It does come off Counter clockwise? Had to ask as the manual does not say.... Any hints???

Between the gears? There does not seem to be any gears to put the penny into.... The inner clutch basket just spins and the only gear I can find that turns is the main chain sproket.... gonna get a impact gun and try that... Ill buy the holding tool and have it for assembly! Thanks!

engine is on the bench......did you do that in the frame with chain on?

If it gets ugly you might want to weld a old allen wrench right to the head.....Done that more than once

When I split the cases Ill think of you My cyl head has a date code of OB10 not sure what year that equates to...

Either they dont want me to know what year it is becuase its very old and needs all new parts, or its stolen.....One or the other..... I just bought it for mostly misc parts....but was hoping it was not to old so that all the parts are so sloppy that they are all junk.... It looks clean inside though the oil fill hole, ill pull the side covers off and get a better look... No manufacture date marks on the cyl head???

how to tell engine year without VIN?? Yup, bought a used engine on flea bay and the VIN number was missing....WHAT A SHOCK..... Ground off. Was wondering if there is any other way to tell what year the engine is? Gonna strip it down completely and re-build from scratch but still want to know how old it is...... any help would be great!

Anyone have a 421 cheater with powervalves???? please speak up.....does the power hit to hard or is it a bit smoother in the midrange?

I saw that in another post about eating valves but no boday could back up the hear say A few guys on this borad who did have T-Rex said they worked fine if you keep them clean etc..... I love the cheater with power valves but with the radical drag porting right out of the box im affraid it will suck to ride at slower rpms and have too violent of a power hit...... if someone with Cheaters with valves and 421 can speak up? You know, the proce of the T-rex package is not all that much more than the cubs.... only a few hundered bucks...
