  1. What town are you moving to? There are places to ride but keep in mind everywhere you ride unless its private property it's illegal. You can ride at a couple of place that you pay and sign a waver that have a mix of trails but you have to travel 45- 2hrs away. Also in NY your bikes need to be registered and insured ( liability). It kind of sucks but has been like this for years. Some of the towns the cops have atvs and snowmobiles and give chase. Last year behind my house, I live on an old RR bed and the cops got out ran by a bunch of kids . The next day they had 4 atvs and 2 cars to catch any one that went by.. oh WELL i STILL RIDE . Shoot me an email and I'll show you places to ride.
  2. Here is my problem, I'm trying to fix my friend banshee. Just replaced the top end. It starts fine but, when the bike is warm and comes down to idle it seems like it runs out of gas(stalls). The choke tube on his bike is worn out. It won't stay in any fixed postion , you have to hold it. I took my choke tube off my banshee and put it on his and, it seems to idle a little better. But here my other problem, when you rev the engine gas drips out of the over flows. when its idling it doesn't. So, I took the carbs off and checked the float height. It's at 21mm. Gas is still dripping. What am i doing wrong? What can I look for? Thanks.
  3. I'm installing a new head gasket. It's an after market brand and it does not have the word "up" stamped into it. Which side should I use, the raised side or the indented side? One side of the gasket is raised and the other indented?

  5. OK, I fixed it . But I used a way none of you mention. It works well to. I cut a head of a nail and placed it on top of the spring. works mint. HOW DO U LIKE DOS APPLES.

  7. Just finished getting my bike back together this summer, and I am pleased.. This is the first banshee I have ever owned , and will never turn back. I raced my brother raptor(smoked it.) raced plenty of 400z,exs,(smoked em). I was at the local place we ride called the sand pits and this guy a his wife pulled up. He had a new 450r . Nice bike but i would have boughten a yamaha 450 instead. He kept bragging about all the bikes hes beat,but he never raced a banshee. I said," lets go". I was a little nervous cause everyone says how fast the 450s are. I'm not a pro rider just a weekender, hittin the trails. Well- I blew the doors off the 450r. First we raced on this private road where we both can hook up. I was so far in front, it wasn't funny. Then I said ," lets go on the grass". I knew he would problably beat me there cause all I would do was spin my tires. I beat him again, but he was closer . About 2 lengths behind. BOY, HE WAS MAD. He said,"maybe i should go out and buy a banshee". Granit his bike was stock and mine had mods,his was 4 ,and mine is 2 stroke(BANSHEES FLY.) What is all boils down to is I paid $2500 for mine and did about grand in mods, He paid $7000 for his and still has to put a pretty to beat it.
  8. OK,I bought a kick starter rebuild for a couple bucks. Comes with new a new screw,o-ring and ball. It worked mint ,but for only a couple of weeks. What 's the deal. Its driving me nuts. How can i fix this annoying problem?

  10. BY THE WAY .THE RUNS MINT CANT WAIT TO BREAK IT IN. I LOVE TWO STROKES IM HOOKED NOW. ALREADY THINKING ABOUT BUYING ANOTHER BANSHEE JUST TO START ANOTHER PROJECT. IT WAS FUN.I KNEW NOTHING ABOUT THEM.BUT WHEN YOU LEARN ,IT ONLY GETS BETTER.
  11. OK, I FOUND THE PROBLEM.I FEEL LIKE THE BIGGEST IDIOT BUT,IT GOES TO SHOW IF YOU DONT CAREFULLY CHECK OVER EVERTHING,YOUR GONNA MISS SOMETHING.- I BOUGHT THE BIKE USED.,CHEAP,AND NOT RUNNING. WHEN I DID A COMPLETE REBUILD I REPLACED EVERYTHING. THE ONE THING THAT WAS MISSING WAS****************** THE HOSE THAT CONNECKS THE TWO CARBS (HELLO ,MAJOR VACCUM LEAK.) THATS ALL IT WAS. IT WASNT ON THE BIKE WHEN I GOT IT. THATS WHY I WAS STUMPED. JUAST WANT TO THANK EVERYONE FOR TRYING TO HELP!!!
  12. out there wrenching now.gonna start from the beginning.double check everything. the only thing i didnt check when i had the carbs apart was the float hight.
  13. can it be when i installed the tors eliminator kit the idle screws are to high.meaning the slides were not low enough.because the bike idled very high ,when i dumped gas in the cylinders andanit ran for 10 seconds.the idle was high.
  14. petcock is fine,fuel filter not clogged i can see fuel running through.
