Drag Banshee-650cc Rotax-$2800
Dick Wheels replied to NOVI FED COUPE's topic in For Sale - Parts & Accessories
A little off topic but here in upstate NY I have been watching a few shees locally for sale. They have been in the paper and on CL all summer long and still for sale. Really nice bikes to, Some modified and some not. Not junk either and they cant even give them away for 2k or less. One guy has droped over 1k on asking price and its still for sale, over 6 months now. The economy is sad right now. Damn shame -
I think this one answers itself. Take the 10 minutes and put them back in!

Frostbite sux ass!!

Good luck with Dr.q. He is defiantly the best for zillas and 250r's but a cocky know it all f**k and expensive. also be prepared to wait forever. I wanted something done once and he didn't really wanna do it because it wasn't a full out race thing and said it would be months before he could get to do it anyways. call duncan or hotrods or something

Any good offer accepted! hate to put them on ebay, Rather give someone here a deal first. I got a 2 into 1 now and don't need the laying around getting ruined. I need the money anyways for my 4x4 cause the snow is starting to fly and i hate to drag the ice shanty out on the lake with the banshee

i usually wear, marino wool long johns with insulate carhart jeans, double layer thin socks with 500gram insulate hikers. thermal top, long sleeve shirt, tee shirt and hoodie. Always remember good gloves that are waterproof. i thought i had nasty frostbite last year when my hands got wet and from the wind froze and we were a few miles out. I spent 2 hours with them in the sink when I got back getting them to change back from dark purple. Not fun and hurts so bad it will literally bring tears to your eyes. If you don't believe me try it. Just remember the good Gloves

I have a decent set of Keihin 34mm pj's that I don't need any longer. I switched to a 2 into 1. Just jet and needle them to your bike and your all set. I'm located in NY. Shipped for $200 OBO. I have more pics upon request by email (518) 470-8558 [email protected]

I probably wont ride it at night either. I just like the looks of the lights on it better then no lights and they were cheap...$15bux. Got them wired up today and they are dim at idle but once u rev it a little they come on nice and bright. Doubt they are any good in the dark though but may be enough if you get in a pinch though. Basically just there to look good. I am gonna put the 35watt bulbs in them though just to be safe.
-
yea i was planning on doing the 35 watt bulbs. they were cheap and mainly for looks, i usually dont ride in the dark. My main concern was I want lights without the DC conversion
-
I have been thinking of putting some lights on my shee. It has none now and the previous owner cut the damn brackets off too. Would I be able to run a pair of 50watt halogen lights without any mods or higher wattage stator? All my factory wiring and switch is intact here is a pic of them

Yea i have been dieing to but like you i cant travel that far on such short notice

Shame i'm in the albany are or I would go. Just got my see back together on Friday and haven't even ridden it yet since its been back together or since i got it in Janurary. lol. Any of you guys near me at all?
-
Thanks alot man! I'm glad I got it running to and its amazing. My first shee to. Got it in January in pieces, put it back together and have spent all summer long fugging with the jetting and carbs and haven't been able to ride it yet. If only I or the previous owner knew it had that plate on there i could have turned it back to +4 at the beginning of summer and avoided this whole "jetting/Carb" headache.
-
As a few of you know I decided to switch to a 2 into 1 intake setup in the beginning of summer and dump the 34 pj's that were on the bike. For the last few months I have been battling trying to get it to run right. I tried 5 different needles and no matter what I did it was just way to lean at mid throttle to the point of poping and back firing and wouldn't rev. I then decided to ditch the single carb and go back to stock duals and jet them. It ran much better but still wasn't right. Anyways I only got this shee in January and don't know anything about it besides it had Duncan Racing stickers all over it and the 34's that were on it, DG pipes and a Vito's hemi head. So after all this I let it sit and ran my LT250r. I finally decided it was time to try and get the shee running again the other day and decided to do a compression test on it since i haven't before and it had 170 across the board. I then pulled the stator cover and to my surprise found a adjustable plate with some lose bolts and set at +8. I cleaned everything up under there and and tightened the bolts up and set it back to +4 and WALA... It runs like a champ. All this BS because I knew nothing about the bike and neither did the previous owner. I fired it up, took it for a ride and it really flies but needed more carb. I ditched the stockers and went back to my 2 into 1 with a new 35pwk and the bike is nasty now. Looking threw the intakes it has some porting but is unknown and also appears to have some domed pistons in it, bore unknown. I just wanted to thank snop and everyone else who helped me along with this in the past. Shame is basically winter here and I haven't been able to ride it yet. BTW snop your jetting advise was practically spot on...you da man!

What dirt bikes are good these days?
Dick Wheels replied to DallasGDub's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I'll second that! My buddy has a new 08 kfx 250 and it flies. 1st dirt bike I ever rode and scared the shit outta me. i have a hard time reaching the ground on it and im 5'7" 180lbs. i couldnt kick it when sitting on it, he had to get it running for me or i would have fallen over. lol I guess thats what happens when you have no legs and have to buy 30" length pants -
If you can afford new their are 3 sets on ebay now. $540 with free shipping DMC on ebay
-
Power valves are actually OPEN from idle to a certain rpm range and then CLOSE from that rpm to peak rpm allowing the exhaust to only use the pipe and not the extra port
-
If it is like my GForce axle then there should be 2 spacers on both sides. A small one and a big one. You may be missing some spacers
-
Half a bottle of that green slime shit works for me. I just like the surprised look on the guys face when he takes the old tire off my wheel to install a new one and and gets covered in the crap. They get pissed if you don't tell then ahead of time

If Honda made Three wheelers......
Dick Wheels replied to RollinRhino's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Speaking of quadsports and RCM exhaust, maybe this will bring back some memories. i have a 92 in my arsenal (the electric start version for my girl with the RCM exhaust). It sits next to my 88 LT250r and my 96 banshee and my 95 polaris 425 4x4. lol amazing how 1 person can ride 4 at a time -
I'll Step up...I am running a set to! If I was in the market for pipes would i buy them...Probably not because there are better options now. But They do have a sweet sound to them, better then stock and for my type of riding (trails and pits) they are great. They smooth out the power and bring the band in nice and early but only make about 1 hp more then stock...still better then stock
