  1. Sorry about the re-post. Hell I usually never miss anything here but I guess I missed that one. I have never seen anything so stupid looking in my life. Its funny as he is here in my state and I know that he never got it registered in this state as I notice that it has no Colorado license plates on it. HAWWWWWW, HAWWWWW
  2. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Yamaha-Bans...A1%7C240%3A1307 This is one wierd looking piece of work. Would anyone buy this contraption for thier Banshee just to ride on the street? Id rather just buy the Canam Spyder.........
  3. Hell yea: I loved tha Banshee so much I have two just for me....... I had to wait twenty years to finally own one though.. Im just going to collect more now...heh heh hehhhhh
  4. I took an old suzuki PE250 and it had faded plastics on it. Real dry and chalky feel to it. I sanded all the plastics in three stages of grit from rough to very fine grit paper on it. I then did one last sanding with 1000 grit paper and then put my professional auto polisher on it and hit it at high speed with light grit glazing compound. I then used turtle wax on it at high speeds after washing the pads really well. That plastic came out looking brand new again. Just an idea for you being as using that stuff you are discussing will come off when the first time you spill a drop of gas on it. Polish it my man and it will look great.
  5. DAMN it Jim; For a second I thought that you were hammering his work which Ive seen in person and know to be perfect. I had to read it twice before I realized that you were joking at him at first. Tate: You ought to show them the photo of your daughters muffler signature in Powder Coat that you did for her. Now thats also equally impressive. :sorcerer: Just like majic
  6. YEAHHHH, YEAHHHH, YEAHHH
  7. Wow ; listen to the doctors and nurses. Get lots of rest and hug the family. God speed to your recovery my good man.
  8. Banshees do not like water as I hear it. Some say that the stator assembly is suceptable to water infiltration. Wear your wet suit.....lol
  9. You can sure tell that we are all bored as hell and havent got much else to talk about than this crap. Whos got a better topic for discussion? anyone? :miner: Looks like we are digging for shit.....lol
  10. J-madd has most likely got it right. With a solid spark and still not firing to even sound like it wants to fire, its gotta be timing issues or carb now. That jet size is huge, but did it run with those before? Fix him up J-madd It looks like you have plenty of hi-po experience as evidenced by your garage....
  11. You can tell by the used tires he has that he rode it on the street all the time. That eats up the clutch faster than dirt i would imagine. The elka set up is expensive, Id go with the $3,500 and no more than $3,800 though. You can get an idea of how expensive that elka stuff is as well as the front suspension by checking catalogs at the local bike shop. Yes its expensive but after all its not new. :ermm:
  12. Well then if your dad is fronting the money then reason the mods stuff and the used banshee with him, otherwise have him use the yamaha financing and get the new one. The payments are only $129.00 per month for 4 friggin years though. I am sure you will want a car someday if you are young. Dont wast the money and get a good used one. It will be payed off sooner and you can enjoy it more. Show him all these guys advise if you have too.
  13. I agree; That bike looks filthy to me for a bike that he is trying to trade to you a person would think that he would at least detail it. The rusted pipes and dirty engine tell me that he didnt care for it much. It looks ok but then again, whats your bike worth......3 grand maybe? If a used bike isnt spotless, he didnt take care of it during the time he had it. There is alot more owners who ride the shit out of banshees and then clean them and do all the maintenance on them around your town I am sure. Your eye will be the deciding factor......Take the oil plug out and look at the dipstick and see how dirty it is. Look at the air filter condition. That will give you another clue on if he cared for the bike.
  14. These dont exist; Check out the Yoshimura website, someone just screwed up thinking that a banshee was a yfz450....
  15. We are talking about a YFZ350 Banshee right? Just checking. Something sounds like the timing is off for some reason. All you need is compression, spark and fuel for ignition. Does it spark when you had the plug out seeing if it was firing? I am assuming that you have a manual. How much advance do you have on it? Is there any grounding going on in the wiring harness. I had that happen only once before I found out that my quick disconnect safety plug/ tether cord was dry rotted. "Its that darned plug you wire in to the wiring harness in place of a kill switch that attaches one end to you and the other to the switch and stops the engine if you fall off." Mine needed replacing and wasnt making a connection when I had it plugged in. Any how Id pull the left side case and check to see if the timing is set correctly. Is there a possibility that the flywheel got dropped when you had it apart and cracked the magnets in it and it is messed up now? Just asking..but who knows. Is the flywheel still magnitized? Im reachin for you to give you some alternative troubleshooting areas to look at. Is the coil grounded to the frame without paint or powdercoating in the way of a good ground? Are the plug boots fully seated onto the coil wires? hope these ideas help. If this doesnt get her going give us the details after work and you have had a chance to check some of these areas out. If you are still having troubles after checking out these areas, Snopsynski can sure help you out on this one as he knows alot on these bikes.
  16. Same here; I bought a SE 2006 Banshee brand new from the crate and yes its not as fast as my 95 purple assed Barney Banshee but it was brand spankin asses new and I was the first one to fart on the seat....lol Hell; I will have to now mod the hell out of it to get the gains the others speak of and spend a few more grand in doing so. My deal was that I had promised myself way back in 1988 when I first rode a Banshee that I would have a new one some day. I spent alot of cash in doing so but I had to wait my entire adult life to finally get one, and dont look back at if it was the right thing to do or not. My next adventure would be to get a Banshee that allready had the cub motor fresh in the chassis, and all new go fast parts and no friggin glam billit shit just to make it look good. Id have only performance stuff on the next one that Ill do. The others are right, get a great used one with all the mods for a huge savings.
  17. Wow $300 for brakes....no wonder you were pissed. Thanks Ray
  18. keep your rifle or pistol clean and oiled up. be careful.
  19. Hey ned; Just curious; Have you got one of those new Banshees? If you do it would be nice if one of our Aussie Buds would get some tracing paper and trace those decals for us to try and reproduce in a slightly modified way of course. Ray
  20. Yea no kiddin; I dont know how we got onto that topic,,,Who cares, People can still get parts for them and they are still cool bikes...
  21. Production was Outlawed on the ATC in the USA. Back in the late 1986 or Early 1987 I believe it was I received a letter from Honda regarding a lawsuit that was being brought on to motorcycle manufacturers. They were to halt all production of three wheeled ATC bikes worldwide due to deaths and related injuries brought upon by lawsuits past and present. They stated that they would continue to warranty and service my bike and would have a continued supply of replacement parts available. I had at the time a Honda ATC-70 from when I was a kid , and a Honda ATC 200X that I had just bought. I cannot for the life of my remember the name of the group that had instigated the lawsuit against the manufacturers like Honda, Dusuki , Kawasaki etc but it was contained in my letter many years ago. I was just a young guy back then. Back then it was common knowledge of the lawsuit and was national news at one time. It stemmed from the instability of the vehicle when kids rode them and had no riding experience and parents would not get them to a riding course which in many instances did not exist at teh time as well. You can probably get on a threewheeler site and find the old info on it. NOTE: I just found an article dated in year "1988: that comes close to the letter I remember getting back in that timeframe years ago. check it out: http://www.time.com/time/magazine/article/...,966434,00.html The word out on the street at the time was that the group was the same "MADD" Mothers Against Drunk Drivers group that formed the commission that started this push for the ban back then, but thats heresay unless there is visible proof that I have seen for myself. Anyhow it really doesnt matter as this thread is really supposed to be about how our DMC-916 pipes are being shipped and how late the production of them are and how mad we customers are getting and how cool the pipes are going to be when and if we ever get them.
  22. Send him back a message that tells him that his testing doesnt prove anything to the public. Tell him that the proof is when the testing is done independently. I also e-mailed him and another guy saying the same thing. I told him to loan us a set and we will test them so that he could prove it. He and the other guy never responded.... He is just full of crap.
  23. WOW ....Those new flywheels are $381.00 new at Babbits. That will choke a person up a bit. Better get one off a running motor somewhere else.
  24. Man thats the wierdest one I have heard in a while to troubleshoot. Does it still have the TORS on it? Whats wierd is that it dies when you pull the clutch in on it. When you do get it running at an idle, are you able to rev it up while its in neutral? Just wondering? Also; How does it run without pulling in the clutch? Also; Have you checked the wiring harness for evidence of a wire rubbing through to ground to the frame or something?
  25. The flag is fine. It is exactly like the shoulder patches on the us military uniforms that you must wear when doing United Nations work and in IRAQ abroad etc.... Now according to what side of an airplane vertical stabilizer you are facing, the flags are backwards like that as well. So .....real good man...Nothing to worry about.
