  1. Your picture didnt work but I like the plain old Pro Taper seven-eights atv bars with Renthal grips with the really little diamond pattern. They just feel right to me.
  2. Whats the stuff they spray all over the Hollister stores? I kind of like that...or some sex panther would be good, 60% of the time is ok with me.
  3. I wonder how a cut Razar with the H pattern would compare to a cut Knarly? I had the Ohtsu's on my big bore 400ex and they did a good job but seemed to wear out fast. I prefer the Dunlops.
  4. Like Snop said, if your looking for strictly midrange Pro Circuits are hard to beat. If you want better low end with good mid range I would highly recommend PT mids.
  5. If you dont have the time to do a plug chop you should throw a couple sizes bigger main in just to be safe until you have time. It would suck to meltdown on a trip. I went from Fattys to PT mids and it had 270's in it, I was told to start at 320-340 so today I put the 320's and took it out just to see if it would even be runnable because I thought that was way too big but it didnt even bog when it came on the main.I didnt have time to do a chop today either so I cant give any good answer either way. Did you not like the PT high's,or just not the rust?
  6. Sounds like a typical cop to me, I dont doubt it one bit. A few weeks of schooling a badge and a gun and they are better than everyone else. For you younger guys just remember that the kids you pick on in school are either going to end up being multi millionaires ,serial killers,or cops.
  7. Sorry, I guess Im and asshole, but that is what I think of when you say enduance racing.
  8. Agreed.
  9. Its the small ring that i'm looking for. one plug was just barley starting to show a very faint ring with the 160's but it was a real dog. 165 is the biggest I have so i think I'll throw them in and give it a shot. I have a feeling that i'm going to go through a lot of plugs in the next couple days. How much of a difference does 1 or 2 jet sizes make in the way the bike feels?
  10. Pilots are 48's, 1 1/2 turns out. Its a new motor and I did a leakdown when I built it. Someone said maybe it was washing the plugs clean but I doubt it, they were not wet.
  11. Alright, I may just jump down to a 155 and try it on that one. The thing that bothers me is that with the 160's the plugs were still white, one of them had a very little brown at the base of the insulator. Its becoming a real headache.
  12. Better safe than sorry is right, I'll give it a try tomorrow. I have been having trouble getting my 4 mill jetted and I bet I am way lean on it, I got 160's in it right now. What is the difference in the feel of a way rich bike compared to a way lean one?Mine doesnt want to rev out.
  13. Ok, Thanks for the help, I'll try it. The guy I got it from had the 250 mains in it with the fattys and pods but that was it. I thought It ran really strong but maybe it was just too lean.
  14. Are you serious? What do I have makes it need that much? I'll try it though, better safe than sorry. All I gave for pilots are 25's and then my next smallest ones are 35's I have putted it around the yard and pulled the plugs and they are very brown and a little wet (they were new)
  15. Well, on the new bike I got I removed the fattys and put the PT mids on, put on the Noss head with 21 cc domes, installed the 2 stage reeds,k+n pods, and bumped the timing up 4 degrees. It had 250 mains and I put 280's in for a starting point. Do you think it will be safe to try these or should I bump it up more? Cylinders are not ported and im at 1400 ft, 55 degrees.
  16. Yeah, its called desert racing, you live there, you should know this. There is a real good one coming up in a couple days just a little further south than you called the Baja 1000, Its not to late to register and its only $200. Make sure you bring your balls along.
  17. Did you do a compression test before you took the head off? That is the thrust side of the of the cylinders so the polished look is normal. If the scoring is very light you can just run a hone down it and throw in a new set of rings. It would be a good idea to mic the bores though just so your sure there within tolerance.
  18. Porting is where its at. If you do some shopping around you should be able to throw together a ported 4 mill for under a grand. I would recommend upgrading your pipes for sure. I have just always had something against fmf's.
  19. Yes it's a plasma, so far there is only one line but its driving me nuts. I ran it through its screen clean cycle but that didnt do anything.
  20. Hard to say, you need to describe what it doing in a little more detail. Clean the carbs and see if that helps.
  21. Do a compression test to find out what condition your motors in, They day 110 psi is minimum per cylinder. Below that its time for a top end. Buy the way, you shouldnt pull start it.
  22. make it tighter.
  23. I've always got an excuse...temporarily mentally challenged.
  24. Yep, thats what I suspected. Thank you. So I assume I still set the wot position with the sight glasses?
  25. Ok, dont laugh because this is new to me...The new bike I got has stock carbs with the tors removal kit,my question is what are the screws on the sides that you drill and tap in for? I'll blame this question on the booze in advance.
