it appears to have 3 peaces of aluminum, i know a prodesign coolhead is a 2 peace. Sooo what the hell is this thing doing here? lol thinking i better move it like NOW

I bought a new shee yesterday and have a questions about the 421 setup... Why is the spacer plate on top of the head?? this isnt right is it, makes no sense, seems like a ring catcher to me,can i just pull the topend off get new gaskets and put the plate below the cylinders? ive heard u can use special domes for them instead of using a plate, i like that idea better, where to find?

lol confused, nah, i understand the flow of exhaust guys ;p just didnt think a 68mm bore is going to make a HUGE difference in the output of it, but ill take your word for it.. As for the cpi's ive read everything from here to china on them, i know they're performing pipes but they look like a 40oz bottle of beer on the side of the motor, UGLY, ill give them a try, but they are an eye sore imo.. I was looking for something that was all done up and had all the goodies but wheres the fun in that was my conclusion, im riding some other dudes bike, thats lame, build it, ride it, enjoy it and you've accomplished something, not buy it, ride it and have to tell the guy next to ya, umm ya i didnt do shit to it i bought it like this lol Thanks, preciate it fellers ill post some pics of it. Whats the compression run on these? round 1200feet above sealevel... Im commited to this buy now damnit lol,i dont have any pics of it yet but ill be sure to add them to my sig when i get. Its a 98, plus 4 swinger, just repainted, 421, cpis,35mm keihins,pods, elka suspension, lockout clutch, haulers,mohawks, not sure what dirt tires, other odds n ins, dont like the plastic thats coming off asap, 4k leaves plenty of room to improve :geek: old lady trippin on me cuz i got about a 2page list of stuff its getting in the near future tehe, but she aquired the 97 so she cant complain to much

Hey guys im buying a new shee tommorow with the 421 cub setup.. It has cpi inframes on it and i dont like how i cant see the polished jugs with these, i really dont like the pipes period. never rode them but by the look i can tell they will more then likely be removed, my ? is this... Is the flange on the cylinder bigger on the 68mm cubs? i would like to put some pt hi-revs on it if possible. Never dealt with a cub setup before only stock and ported stuff. Also, im wanting to rebuild the topend, from what ive seen you dont bore these. just re-ring and put new pistons in, re nikasil the cylinders when needed, anything i should be aware of when rebuilding? im not comfy with the fact he said they prolly have 30 hours on them, thats alot imo.

Thanks but ive decided to go check out the one i posted, figure if i can get it 4 that cheap i can always build the motor, not really what i wanted to do but i just cant get over the look of that bike for the price :smile: plus i wont need to pay a g for shipping, can always turn it if i dont like it, thanks again everybody.

yup run some castor 927 and let it smoke lol smells like heaven :biggrin: that will lean it out through the midrange not your top though, mix your oil a little thinner, factory jetting is usually way rich and if u mix ur oil to what the recomend the motor will last 5 years lol

agreed, the header was made, the silencer followed. allthough i picked up a set of pt mids on ebay and stuck some t-5 stingers on the back and it ran good? sounded purty flipn cool to :geek: needless to say they got removed cuz itsa redneckn way to go about things

Im wanting to add another bike to the collection, Not wanting a strictly drag quad though that shit gets old. lol I raced a 440ex and i won by only a tire length!!! a piped yfz450 kept pulling a tire on me!!! i was pissed, been riding 20 years now and i gotta say, its time to scrap the stock engine design, its deffinately not a real contender with just pipes, need to port it, change the timing, gear it dif, put some pods on it, diff reeds and a head before you should waste your time racing people. ditch the spacers and the bootle, sale them on ebay to the next fool.

worn needle n seat dont bend ur floats unless your going to reset them using a depth mic, take the float completely off and check the seat to see if it has signs of wear -
May be mistaken but i believe you can only take a stock jug out .080 with a factory head, the head may need rechambered??? did you get the right size gasket for the overbore?? silly questions maybe but start with the top that u just replaced and work your way down, if it ran ok before with the jetting thats probably not your problem if its that noticeable.

got a 77 rd400 for 600 bux off ebay, time slip on this was 12 flat when it smoked a piston, in the shop right now... know it has more potential than that n would love to put it on a dyno.. was curious however is that a factory frame?? doesnt look like it, appears to be a kit bike, where ya find that at? would love to build one :geek:

hmm, strange. what year bike is yours? maybe my shits tweaked or something lol eitherway a clamp on is a good add on and will save you boatloads of time rejetting something and a few oz's to boot :cool: ima go measure my shit now hahaha i believe ya and now im curious......

Offset yes but enough to visually notice? maybe dunno i never seen a drastic difference between both sides, loosen the intake clamp and make sure the carb is pushed all the way in though first before you start rejetting stuff or burn something up
