ima add grease the control arms once a year as well..CHECK THE AXLE NUT after each ride
-
i follow the manual.. never had a problem with a topend that "i" broke in by doing this....break it in how you want to though that way if it pops ya got no body to blame but maybe an over eager thumb

cpis are an awesome performance pipe from what ive gathered so far, but damn do they ever roast your legs.. i would think doing a lot of trail riding, hugin the bike ull probably end of with some nasty burn scars i know i have a couple even wearing pants!! ride them if possible, compression test, check bushings, bearings, look under the bikes, the green bike has no headlamps, may see if he choped the harness or if they can just be put back on... both have pro's and con's but dont let a paintjob suck you in nor small bolt on upgrades for that matter, like previously stated, any schmoe can put an axle on etc etc. i say whichever feels good

banshee mixing ratio please need to no
jharader replied to banshee_boi17's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
stick with 32:1 until u have mastered plug chops!! DO NOT RUN 75:1 in a stock un modified motor thats just asking for a meltdown.. The more oil you can run down the motor and it burn the better, theres a reason yamaha recomends 24:1.. 50:1 is as high as i would go especially running an unleaded fuel. -
plus 10 damnit! no no gotta be like 7 or something who knows lmao damn i always thought it was where the case splits to which would mean its at PLUS 2.. hahaha sounds like this shit needs pinned

coffman pipes i say, just a guess. seen a set on ebay awhile back that kinda look like that BUT only seen one set, 60 bucks is cheap for any pipe, and worth taking a shot at imo

Keep looking bro, dont get in a hurry it never pays off.. i got my 97 shee the one on the right in sig pic for 750 bux, only has 1 topend in 5 years on it, the 96 to the left of it was purchased in 97 from a farmer that rode it 1 hour for 3800 with a full set of paddles, the 98 cub i recently purchased has an assload of stuff on it including elka suspension looks and runs awesome! did blow the clutch out of it this weekend, 4 grand... and the 99 was purchased for 3600, has t5-s, head, new paddles, axle, pods, reeds, thousand dollar custom paint job and some other random parts. point is keep ur eyes peeled and it WILL pay off.. id give no more then 2500 for that bike just my opinion though

Hey i ran into a guy at the dunes this weekend from round kansas city area, was running a shee, drag pipes out one side, stock stroke bike, black and red, said jeff built the engine..... just curious if your on here dude. maybe try and catch up with ya again sometime out there...... should have this clutch in my cub replaced shortly and wanted to give ya some real competition out there  did a lil more damage than i thought haha

Bolt on some cubs and never look back lol man i raced a couple 450's, ds650's at the dunes this weekend on my 421.. was sickening how bad i ran these guys! stood it up off the take off, 50ft out i was allready 4 bike lengths ahead, needless to say i walked all over them, raced my bro on a piped shee, walked em the same.. i have seen the light!

Need some advice on a new basket for my 421 cub, took it out to the dunes for the first time and blew some stuff up, had a factory basket and lockup clutch... key word "HAD" some pretty nasty stuff, chewed up the cover, ruined the basket, outer hub, so with that said i wanna know what everybody uses on these so i can get it ordered and done with.. Ive used hinson baskets before, should i stick with that and go straight cut gears? or is there a cheaper equal idea? thanks in advance

replace the cable? may be catchin on the inside somewhere
-
Maybe the piston in the master is catching on some debri? id take it apart and clean it, no harm in that.
-
How much do those rims weigh? just curious, looks like youd be adding another 20lbs of swinging weight
-
recently put some laker plastics on my 97.... love the way they look BUT for some reason they buldge out by the gas tank? anybody else run into this? i dont wanna elongate some holes if its something i overlooked... (i know they are installed right lol) i can literaly slip my hand next to the tank??? http://i293.photobucket.com/albums/mm49/jh...-04-08_1216.jpg

also i noticed your signature says an 01, still on a factory bore? probably be in your best interest to check the compression and possibly take it over the minimal amount before it melts down, just a suggestion. Thats probably got a lot of hours on it and if your going to add compression to it i smell disaster.

Dont know about the shocks, Removing the tors will not give you any extra power, But damn sure removes some BULK and well worth your time, makes rejetting, cleaning carbs quicker, looks better to. Coolheads are a good investment for a little power gain and cooling, Milling the head is a cheaper route, if your going to raise the compression on it and port it i highly suggest you change the piston, but someone else can chime in on that ive never dealt with stock pistons and a port always used wiseco, Id say get a coolhead with 20cc domes, reeds, pods, wiseco pistons. Kinda scares me with the idea of jacking up the compression on stock pistons heres a pic of why i say that, this was the result of factory pistons with 17cc domes.... I didnt build this engine!! my bro's wifes bike the guy said it had 20cc domes, not the case and completly shelled the engine.

Should i trade my bike for a Shee
jharader replied to jerod187's topic in General Banshee Discussion
Talking shit? poooooooooooooooot yup yup the squirts if i can legally have a beer and drive my truck i can legally have a beer and ride my shee.. lemme point out i said A BEER, im not saying u should by any means be getting lit up and ride, that is lame and irresponsible, but so is recomending a 700lb atv to somebody  as for the putting around issue, it wont hurt anything, period, carbon buildup imo isnt "hurting" anything, spinning it 10grand up a hill, now thats "hurting" something :woot: friction is friction, the more it moves the more it grooves  -
Should i trade my bike for a Shee

Im not saying ride around with a bottle of whiskey screaming around camp sites with 2 people on the thing? but cruising a banshee around for a "joy" ride isnt going to hurt anything, and neither is drinking a beer or riding doubles if ur not a complete tool, they are heavy for sure depending on what ur comparing it to though, theres been more areas shut down around here for people dumping trash then anything, i cant think of a single instance where the "banshee was giving a bad name" compared to anything else, i see ALOT of dumbshits on 450's,700's and 4x4's driving down roads, tearing peoples pastures up, giving quads in general a bad wrap, rarely do i see anything else causing problems, i seem to be one of the very few still sporting a shee in this town, driving a 700lb utility quad isnt exactly what i call safe either, and dropping tengrand on a rhino isnt exactly an affordable option to many. i would also like to point out banshee's werent designed for strictly DRAG use either, although alot of u guys seem to stick with that, thats ur own cup of joe. My point is telling somebody they shouldnt get a quad cuz it wasnt designed to just "ride around" is complete hogwash, its only as fast as you ride it. Who says he wasnt getn lit up like a christmas tree on the dirtbike  dude get whatever u want, dont let a bunch of people who think there shit dont stink decide what "you" want. -

Theres nothing wrong with cruising around on a shee! what the hell are u guys doing? trying to talk a future member of the club out of a shee for a utility or anything else. re-got-damn-dicolous its only as "fast" as u ride it, makes no sense why u cant just have a cold beer and cruise around i do this ALL the time and when i feel like getting on it, u drop the beer and give her hell. A bansee is a high performance bike, yes indeed, built for screaming and tearing shit up, BUT it will not hurt a DAMN THING cruising it around....maybe a set of plugs. -
check out the stator
