take a pair of calipers and measure the inner diameter of the intake side of carb, sounds to me like the carbs are not seated all the way in the intake boots man.. stock carb is 26mm
-
Thats because your stock carbs are mikuni's man, your now running keihins, they number the jets different or ya you wouldnt last 5 seconds without changing a plug lmao
-
Not sure what your asking really but does it have tors? maybe the cap on the carb is loose and the tors are shifted on top on the carb making them appear offset? i just got done rejetting one with tors and an airbox, told my buddy to take it elsewhere next time, what a pain in the ass!!!!

Boring it and adding different pistons will gain very little noticeable power bud, invest your money into a trail port.... thats the cheapest investment with the most noticeable gains for what your wanting. Maybe get a 2-into1 pipe with a single carb, bigger rear sprocket, more aggressive tire, shorter swingarm, wouldnt recomend going high with the compression for trail riding..

Buddy of mine recently purchased a 92 banshee, it will start and run, but bogs out MAJOR passed 1/4 throttle, went through the entire intake side and external electronics.... Then i pulled the left side cover off and dumped water out! entire flywheel was covered in rust, pickup coil was rusted, amazed it would start... Heres what it looks like, think this could be the bog'n prob!? Anybody got a stator, timing plate, flywheel?

-
Not worth your time man, i always had problems with foam falling out of it or clogging, get a set of pods or just take off the lid if your wanting a little extra air flow. if u dont run in water or mud just get the pods though. get read of that bulky ass box, it looks like ass anyways and restricts ALOT.

have fmf fatty's. buddy has t-6's samo mods and i outrun him everytime, switch bikes he out runs his own stuff, im not sold on the t-6's by any means. specially for the pricetag, t-5's are good pipes had them sold them, had lrd's and dmc's, fatty's have the best throttle response on my machine for some reason. that my .20, if you have the money to throw around i find it best to try em out and see what works best, whats good for this guy could be completely opposite of what your wanting!
-
Nothing wrong with a good o'le fatty  good all around pipe and way overlooked in my opinion, cheap to
-
if in doubt flipem over man, but in your clymer's it gives you a service spec for the "space" and its actually a scary number (.020) :

lol so this posts gone on for a couple days now it must be a growing problem haha! here in a month or so im the works for purchasing or building a drag bike, strictly for slapping hairlips on ignorant fools like this  not to say my shee is a turd by any means but i personally havnt gotta ride say a 4 or 7mill bike and got an itch for it!! we just purchased an rd400 drag bike witha wheelie bar on it thats in the shop getting punched out, ill post something on that 4-sure, you guys will get a kick out of this bike we purchased for 600 bux on ebay! flipin sweet machine, good to see im not alone here though, this site kicks major ass! like crack, im on here daily now seeing if i have any help to offer or just to read, keep up the good work and lets keep these 4-strokers guessing how such a small powerplant can do so much
-
Seems like us 2-stroke guys get the shit end of the stick for not staying with the trend these days yet we have better bonds and show more respect or so it seems, cuz i really havnt met one guy i could conversate with regarding a 4-stroke for more then 5 minutes without kringing at there ignorance. I like all fourwheelers, ALL, i ride a banshee because thats what gets my rocks off and dollar 4 dollar in MY opinion it cant be touched, purtty machines i might ad. Just sad the rest of the riders out there dont see the light, we ride because it makes us happy in some way or another, not to out-do, show up other people, its okay to do on the track pur-say but not verbally, completely arrogant and will eventually get your teeth knocked out props to all u guys keeping it oldschool though thats awesome wish there were more of you round these parts lol

So im breaking in my banshee having a good ole time. some dude pulls up on a yfz450, wanta race!? tell em nah this bike has less than 20 min on it, he goes on about his bike being built by motionpro, i got 3000 in this motor, titanium valves bigbore, itll smoke a banshee, banshees are a thing of the past. man i wanted to deck this asshole! who the F*** do u think u are coming up to me talking to me like this? im trying to break my bike in and this douchebag is laying a smackdown on the banshee's name, this really irritated me, think i shoulda just drop kicked em off his bike, i cant believe theres such arrogant assholes out there. i was raised thinking everybody who rode had something in common and to greet with respect. makes me want to stay away from other riders, specially the 4-strokers due to the fact they all think they gotta proove something against the banshee. next time i run into this ima just whip out my cock, u wanna compare something try this out haha the banshee runs like a top now tho i am extremely happy! 2-stroking 4-life!!!!!

I found a metal shaving in the seat, simple fix, thing runs awsum with the new topend and carbs, needs re-geared tho BAD! i am happy with these carbs now that just pissed me off
-

-
thats not what im gettin at, if i mess with them im afraid they wont help me cuz they think its something i fuct up. nothing worse then waiting on dumbshit!

Hey guys i finally got my topend back together, was extremely amped to hear her run! went to put on the new oko carbs that i purchased, "still in box" put them on, had to adjust one slide completely out with the adjusment screw to get in even with the other!!! then turned the gas on kicked it 5 times, started up! back fired and died, here comes the gas overflowing out of the left carb!? wtf, how could a floatbowl allready be stuck? it never got dirty nor did it leave the package tell it went on my bike. has anyone dealed with cpw before? if i take the bowls off to clean it are they going to refuse to help me with it? i wanna ride the damn thing, its the weekend, ive cleaned many carbs but im worried if i touch it, they wont help me. not to happy with this purchase so far

is it possiable to narrow bridge to much on cylinders?
jharader replied to bansheejoel's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I dont think porting the "bridge" out that far will help you at all dude, the piston windows are only so big and going bigger seems like it would create a deadspot. granted if you port match the piston windows and keep it balanced! than itd be worth your time, if you dont do anything with the piston then whats the point in opening a hole that leads to a smaller hole? i say stumble, makes no sense. people go hogwild on these things when its completely un needed : -
check screw cap on top of plug, had many ngk's come loose and cause poor ignition. deffinately clean your carbs tho all it takes is a grain of sand to cause problems and make sure the slides are even when you pull throttle open, should open simotaneously.

BANSHEE RAN LIKE CRAP AGAIN IN GLAMIS 4 THE THIRD TIME
jharader replied to 89bansheemx's topic in Sand Forum
Sale it! go with a 4-stroke, thats one less bike i hafta worry bout passing me... dont come back to the board wondering why your machine sounds like a whoopy cushion though -
Ya im not so sure i agree with the gps readings, i got a 97 with fatty's, reeds, 30mm oko's, .020 overbore, hinson clutch, few other mods on a 45 tooth rear and fac front, said i was doing 79mph right before my leftbank seized. i weigh 220, 6ft2. i just dont think it'll go that fast with that gearing, who really gives a shit how much "top-end" you have? you going to be hiting 80mph on the dunes for an extended period of time? haha focus more on learning your bike and how to manipulate the power of it instead of fiddle fucking around with whos got the 'fastest' topend quad! cuz i can gurantee ya one thing, the next guy has a faster one cuz his pockets are deeper...

Heres what i got, i just smoked my engine, lost a piston, it basically just tryed to melt to the cylinder wall, no gouges just alluminum deposits.... its allready at .020 over... im wanting to get more power out of my engine,it has the factory crank is worn out currently i have 30mm oko carbs, fmf fatty's, and some aftermarket reed cages and pedals. what im curious about is which route to take? do i rebore the cylinders, have it ported, polished, the head shaved. which im guessing this will run me in the 7 to 8 hundred range by the time its all said and done, or should i go with a cub setup? i only ride on the dunes, im not wanting to spend more then 2grand on the motor due to dropping 3200 into the suspension. im torn here, im in no way satisfied with what power it made before on the sand, tho it had many many hours on it but still, wasnt impressive, i weigh 220, 6'2 and just want a suitable duner. im hoping to pull 60hp for 2grand, is that a reasonable price range and what route do you fellows recomend? ive only rebuilt a stocker before... new to the stroker motors and all that shit. thanks. James
