  1. well i managed to get my basket off now i have to try and find that ellipical screw...that screw must have a oval head on it i take it so the plate can be adjusted up or down..right? also whats the best way to measure in between the two hooks to make sure that its correct..thanks
  2. i need to take off my basket and i dont have a tool to do it so i was thinking about putting it in gear and letting the trans hold it from spining...is that a good idea or could i break some teeth...if i have to i will buy the tool b/c i dont want to screw it up over a $30 tool....thanks
  3. me and dekker went up to silver lake on saturday and did some drag racing with pretty much every style quad out there and we beat ALOT of them launching in 2nd gear...I did some in 1st and got my ass handed to me by quads i beat 5 times launching in 2nd. I was happy/supprised how well my shee did against 450's, 660 raptors, and other banshees. With a good launch and being able to get the damn thing into 4th gear me and dekker smoked alot of people. But then again it was test and tune day at the local dragway so i imangine alot of the FAST quads were there but i was still happy with the results of the shee. But if you can keep the front down try launching in 2nd, you will be supprised......
  4. thanks for all of your help, i appreciate it.
  5. i already have my clutch off i just need to take off the basket. Is the basket pressed on? or if i get the nut loose it will pull off? With it being loose and not having the right adjustment and bolt in there would that cause it to shift goofy...thanks
  6. i was wondering how i adjust the elliptical screw for the clutch shift shaft with the clutch basket on. Is there a certain way to do this correct b/c i think its the cause of all of my shifting headachs. thanks
  7. kinda, i thought that the locknut needed to be tight against the back of the shift shaft then bend over the metal tab to hold it from working loose. Do you think that the hex bolt just being put in there is my problem?
  8. oh and my locknut is loose and i can move my shift shaft back and forth by moving the shifter. Would this cause it to shift shitty sometimes? i cant imangine it is good at all
  9. or it could be the splines on the axle, and they sprocket carrier is skipping splines...just an idea
  10. do you think that it being a hex bolt that is my shifting problem? how tight is it supposed to be mine was loose as hell. thanks
  11. do a god damn search, this has been covered more than anything on this site.
  12. . The adjustment screw i'm talking about is behind your clutch cover and it is what the end of the shift shaft goes over. So i think i found my problem, tell me if you think this could be it....first off the oring that goes on before the first friction plate is gone lol its torn all to hell. and that adjustment screw that goes on the shift shaft...someone took it out and put in a damn hex bolt and its not recessed at all like the factory one....do you think this could do anything? also should the clutch basket be able to move back in forth a little bit when in gear with the clutch off? thanks guys
  13. does anyone think i would gain anything by running atf type f in my trans instead of gear saver? I know i would have to change it alot more but thats fine with me, would it make it shift better? THANKS
  14. oh the pancake bearing screw? i tryed to adjust it the best i could but the manual does a shitty job describing how to adjust it. Could someone please tell me the correct way to adjust the pancake bearing bolt? im not sure if i did it correct.
  15. shift mechanism? i have no idea what that even is lol do you have to split the cases to do this?....anyone else..thanks
  16. i bet those make almost as much power as that guy saying he got more power from those stock silencers with the packing taken out! haha between those pipes and that guys silencers im willing to bet they will make more hp than some cpi's :shoothead:
  17. i went up to silver lake on saturday and tryed out the new itp sandstars i just bought and they performed amazing. I would recrommend them to anyone who is looking for a great turning and good all around tire for the dunes. I had no problems at all pulling wheelies even in the softest of sand.....very impressed for a v-paddle
  18. hi, im looking for a set of aftermarket shocks for a decent price. I would like to find some nice works dual or tripple rates without rezzies but would be interested in others but im not looking to spend aton as im going to buy some +2+1 a-arms and new shocks next winter so i need some decent shocks to hold me over for the year. thanks
  19. i couldnt word it any better myself!
  20. thats true. Has anyone else had this problem, when the clutch gets hot it doenst disengage properly and makes it difficult to shift? At first i thought maybe it was my shift star but when its not really hot it shifts perfect. How exactly do you adjust a pancake bearing the manual doesnt cover it very well. Also...when you completly pull in the clutch with the engine shut off and in gear you should be able to push it easily right?
  21. is it a 2-stroke? if so i would use it. My girlfriends brother has a small 50cc 2-stroke auto clutch quad for his son and i changed it and put in gear saver and it works flawless.
  22. bel ray gear saver....the only thing i can think of is maybe it gets to thin when hot or something hell i dont know whats going on its wierd. It shifts perfect when ran for like under 1/2 hour but when its ran for more than that it shifts difficult. Do you think if i turn in my pancake bearing a little more it would solve it?
  23. the clutch only has maybe 8 hours total on it....when i took off the old clutch i looked at the basket and there were some grooves but they wernt that bad...will any amount of groove make it do this? the only thing that makes no sence is that it only does it when its been ran for like a half hour or more.
  24. well i just took the shee out and did 4 HARD runs down my dirtroad and on a paved road and it shifts smooth in every gear. It only does it when it gets hot. Should i try another brand of gear oil or something? thanks
