  1. I'm up in Camp Lejuene man. Little ways from where you'll be, but maybe I can help a little. For trails, I would suggest you just bite the bullet and come all the way up to around Goldsboro, NC to Busco Beach. Awesome trails and campgrounds. Over 1500 acres I last heard. Check 'em out at http://www.buscobeach.com/index.html Now for asphalt, you have got to check out 710 Dragstrip right on the border of North and South Carolina In Rowland. Home of run what you brung and always an amazing grudge match to watch there. Check these guys out at http://www.710dragstrip.20m.com/ For the hillshooter and dune type racing, your screwed. There are dirt drags though. Those two places above are my favorite. Hit me up anytime. I'd love to travel to ride. - Justin
  2. Yup! That's what I will be runnning this year on my 1/8th mile alky 14mil. 18-38 might work too. - Justin
  3. Damnit. I like 'em, but I need drag cut! Good luck with the sale! - Justin
  4. Dude, I feel like an a$$. I sent you a PM asking what color the plastics were. That was before I seen the pictures. Damn it's one of those days. Anyway check your PM's! - Justin
  5. Dibs on the full bores (front or complete if H2OLDS doesn't get them) Plus I would like your kicker and the shifter. I would also need the bolts that hold them on. Let me know! - Doc
  6. Heh, I was in this same predicament about 3 months ago. I had everybody on this site giving me advice on who they went with and why. I decided to go with Lynn at LCPerformance. He is a hillshooter by trade, but after seeing his videos of him stomping the competition at Banshee Wars with a 4mil, I was convinced. He's a great guy and will definately treat you like family. I can call him anytime of the day and he is always ready and willing to answer any questions I have. The guy is really down to earth. Just keep in mind that EVERY builder is busy right now, due to all of the major events coming up at the beginning of this riding season. - Doc
  7. Damn. I was afraid there weren't too many spots around that area. Oh well, that just means it's time for a road trip. - Doc
  8. Well, it was last year that I was on deployment in Iraq. I had purchased a 1971 Oldsmobile Cutlass. I will never purchase a vehicle over the internet without looking at it in person again. For as long as I can remember I have been obsessed with things that have the ability to go fast. Once I got home from deployment I seen the gutless Cutlass for the first time. I wasn't happy at all. I then proceded to spend absolutely all of my hard earned deployment money, just to make the car safe. New floor pans all the way around. Had a plastic 8 gallon fuel cell. The frame was cracked and rewelded in one spot, so I cut it out and redid that. The body has some bondo in it. Not too much though. I have decided that this car is way too much for me too handle. Although I still have the need for speed. I bought a r/c car that runs on nitro-methanol. I then started to add all of the hop-ups that I could find for it. I then realized that taking something small and making it go fast as hell, is an amazing feeling. So this year on deployment I was looking for something that I could take and throw down a strip at high speeds. I was looking at snowmobiles, that might have been fun. I love Banshee's, always have ever since I seen one many moons ago. I had one back in high school, but didn't know anything about them besides they were 2-stroke, and how to maintain it. I knew that I had to get an asphalt Banshee after seeing a couple for sale on racingjunk.com. I went to Google and searched "Banshee Forums". This is the first one that came up. Two days later I started negotiating with another member for a roller, bought it. I posted a thread asking who some reputible motor builders were. I chose Lynn at LCPerformance. Bought a motor from him, it's still getting finished up right now. Everything will be ready to go and race when I get home. - Justin
  9. Those are pretty nasty! Would look real nice on a show ride. Not something that I would want to take on the trails. Could also go really nice on my asphalt alky burner. Do you guys do other designs or just this one? - Doc
  10. I have the GT Performance arms. Stock length with +2 forward. I haven't ridden on them yet, but I have heard nothing bad about them at all. I wish I could get pictures up for you, but this isn't my computer. - Justin
  11. Hey Ohio Riders! Probably going to be moving right around Canton when I get out of the military at the end of the year. What spots do you all like to hit up a lot? Any good trails/drag tracks near by? - Doc
  12. Word! I agree with that.
  13. Right on. That's what I had figured. I can keep the billet 2nd gear set even with the 1-5. So I don't have to purchase one later. Thanks for the input man. - Doc
  14. A friend of mine is from Myrtle Beach. He tells me that he can ride from place to place and not get into trouble. Then he also tells me that he would get into a lot of trouble because nobody just "rides" a Banshee. It's fun to do wheel stand and what not going down the street. That's when it becomes illegal. If they do pull you over. Ask to see the law on paper. - Doc
  15. Alright. Definitley Have done some contemplating on this one. I have a 14mil Cheetah being built right now. Going into the bike described in my sig below. The motor builder already has a cut(full override with lock up) tranny 2-5 with a billet second gear set on it. Not a bad tranny right? Well, I am using the bike mostly for asphalt drags. Maybe I might get into the dirt drags later on. I know that the 1/8th is a long haul on these machines. With keeping the dirt drags future in mind, should I keep the 2-5? Or should I just tell him to go ahead and cut first and move neutral? Thanks for the help guys! This is such a noob question! - Doc
  16. Holy ish. I had no idea all of that could be done with powder coating. I was going to go with a f.... Wait a second. Nevermind...you guys will have to wait. By the way, I love it when Kaos posts. That avatar makes me go "ba-doing-doing-doing". - Doc
  17. WHY DO YOU INSIST ON YELLING? Your name is in all caps. Your thread topic is in all caps. Do you know what a caps lock is?
  18. Busco Beach is nice. I'm stationed in Jacksonville, so Goldsboro is about 1-1 1/2 hours from me. So it's got to be about 4-5 hours for him. - Doc
  19. I have an asphalt bike. :: - Doc
  20. The guy that I bought mine off of had his down to 262 pounds wet (full of all the fuel and liquids) without the 6 foot wheelie bar, runnin' a 7 mil. I have the same set up but it is going to be a 14 mil. I'm guessing mine will be about 267 or so. - Doc
  21. Midget hooker!? Hey those weren't on the website! How much to ship her out too!? - Doc
  22. Damn right. <---- Customer fo life fo sho. - Doc
  23. The most important part of the break-in is to get the rings to set. The best way that I have researched this is to ride the bike around as many city blocks as you can, here's why; The highpowered shifting/full throttle that you are going to do on the straights is what the rings need to set properly. Then you see a corner up ahead, let off the throttle, and USE THE TRANS. to slow you down by downshifting, to roll into the turn. Using the breaks to much will, also, not set the rings right. This should be done for 15 mins. Let the bike COMPLETELY cool down, before going for another go. Repeat it 3 times and change your oil. - Doc
  24. Just wanted to let everybody know that Jeff at F.A.S.T. has completely out done himself, again. He has taken time and extra effort to send me a Clymer manual all the way out here in IRAQ! Now I can study up and put my bike together when I get back! THANKS AGAIN JEFF!! - Doc
  25. Hot rodding! I own a '71 Oldsmobile Cutlass that will be Pro Street when i'm done with it. RC Trucks. I own a Traxxas Jato that has a big block and a lot of other goodies that made it clocked at 83 MPH by a trooper in a parking lot! (I guess I have a thing for anything that goes fast) I like the Sailor Jerry rum with a dash of coke for color. I'll tell you what I hate....my wife. - Doc
