Going on ebay

I really dont see why not. They slide over the 28's really easy and wouldnt stay on without clamps. There is a ton of material as well that could be cut out to make them bigger. Let me know if you want to try it! I can measure the opening tomorrow and give you exact specs.

Runs like $hit after a half hour or so
rtcc replied to 2004LEBanshee's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Well I am in the middle or replacing my clutch right now and so I checked the impeller yesterday and all is good. Gears look good and impeller turns fine and everything. I can see the fluid moving in the radiator while it is running as well. I think my stock radiator might have too many rock chips. I have been through everything else, and it runs fine now with the engine ice. and yeah I will be getting ahold of you soon for that radiator. -

I have been having similar problems for awhile now. Only it would only break up in the low and mid throttle. I have finally narrowed everything down and it was just over heating. I was never spitting any fluid out of the overflow or anything. I changed over everything electrical and even poured water over the CDI and coil when it would act up and in never changed it. Finally just switched to engine ice and it has stopped except one time when it overflowed cause I was stuck in a deep hole in the dunes. So a bigger radiator is in my plans before next summer and it should take care of everything. -
I just got these with a set of carbs I bought. I dont need them, have to run the airbox. They are in good shape, but you can see in the second picture where they have rubbed on something. Does not go all the way through, should be just fine. The outerwares look brand new. I really dont think they have been used more than a few times in the sand. They are spotless. They have the offset inlets and everything. They dont come with clamps. 50 bucks shipped paypal is TZumalt at gmail.com thanks

Well man, pipes I think would be important. You cant go far with stock power. Really desert racing is mostly about staying comfortable for a very long time while being in some of the toughest conditions. So like was said, steering stabilizer, suspension is the number one thing. Long travel is key but looks like you already have some front shocks. Gearing as well. IF you are gonna be at high speeds for a long period of time I would try a taller gearing ratio. Tools so you can get home and water were already mentioned. might want to make sure it will run cool as well, mine has a tendency to over heat when I am in the dunes to maybe an oversized radiator would help, with a billet impeller. lots of little stuff that adds up.

Since im new to these carbs is the airscrews the same thing? Like when you say 2 1/2 turns out is that out from when the screw is all the way in and the spring is completely compressed? When I got them they were already set up and they are way more than 2 turns out, wasnt sure if I was supposed to go the other way or something. thanks

Need a bead breaker for my hipers
rtcc replied to peterlocal22's topic in General Banshee Discussion
I was thinking I would just leave the rim on the shee and then take the ring off and the tire should just pull right off the rim. The isnt anything that should hold it on. Like I said earlier you have to lubricate it, cause the tire inner ring is like exactly the same as the rim size. There is just no lip to pull it over. I hope this is how it goes, cause I installed them by just pushing the tire on the there and then bolting the ring on. Couldnt be any different taking it off, just reverse order. here, go to http://hiperracingwheels.com/faqs.aspx click the top link and its a pdf on how to install the tires, should be the same in reverse order. -

Well I have only installed my tires on the rims, but the rears for sure you dont need one. If you take both rings off the tire will just slide right off. It will need some help, like use something slick like tire shine or simple green and you should able to push them right off. The fronts with the bead ring off, you should still be able to pull the tire off in the direction the bead ring was. Again, might not be easy, but there is no reason that you would have to pry the tire up and over anything. Thats what the bead ring does, it is like a removable bead lip for the rim. So it sandwich's the bead of the tire between the ring and the rim. Thats the reason you can run the tires with virtualy no air and the tire wont come off the rim. -

Hold wait, arent yours beadlocks? You dont have to use a bead breaker. -
what size are the paddles?

I have been thinking about this for awhile now. LED would solve SO many problems for banshees since we have to rely on the small stator. If someone could make some extra bright LED's that could fit like the stock lights, they could make it so bright and still use the stock power output.
-
sick! yeah I have the tors removed so I am good to go then. That saves some time as well.

ok awesome, I will order a few different sizes and I should get close. I appreciate all the help! thanks anyone know what cable I need to order for these things?

I ride all trails but mine is pretty clean. Not perfect but you touch something you probably arent going to get grease or dirt on you. I just always wash it after a ride if there is a lot mud and then anytime I am working on it (which is alot!) nothing goes back on without being cleaned first. Hardest place is for sure the top of the engine cases, under the carbs. Even a pressure wash wont get all that out, but Im hoping to tear it down to frame this winter and then I can get a head start on that for next summer.
-
Yeah you are gonna have to check your compression. I run 93 with 20 domes but I dont know if a cub changes anything or not. Im pretty close to the edge of running pump, but I am at 1000 ft or more. If I was at sea level I think I would have to do something different.
-
ok yeah I have stock porting. Im not sure what pilots are in them. The weather is starting to get colder here so I will have to go up in mains pretty soon. I will just get an assortment I guess. From what I can tell pwk jets go in weird increments. Like 150 to 152 to 155, etc. Would the 150 to 152 be the equivalent of the mikuni incriminates of 5's? I just dont want to buy 10 jets in the wrong direction or something. thanks for the help

>Paul Turner High revs/ FMF powercore silencers >noss head 20cc domes >RM stator w/+4 timing >Ported stock reed cages w/TDR reeds open airbox I ride at about 1000 feet and right now bike is jetted for around 75 degrees and I am using a 340 main with stock pilots and dynojet needles. runs perfect
-
Hey guys, I am thinking about picking up a set of Keihin 28mm pwk's but I dont know which jets I will need. I have look for a chart but I cant seem to find one that goes high enough. I use 340 mains in my bike right now on the stock carbs but what is that equivalent in keihin, and also will the jetting be drastically different because the carbs are larger? thanks
-
I would like to know how much for a straight frame as well. thanks

I think they just went with what fenders and seat covers they had a surplus of. Looks thrown together.

I ride in nothing but ROCKY trails and I LOVE the 6 ply razrs. I havent tried the razr2's but I hear they are heavier. The razrs are tough as hell. I have got maybe two flats in the last 5 years and they were both from 3 inch nails. With the 6 ply tires I could still ride it home just fine cause the sidewalls are so strong. I wont run anything else.
