ok, so long story short I have been running my new 28 pwks for about 5 months now. I have got the jetting dialed in for the most part. My mods are >Paul Turner High revs/ FMF powercore silencers >noss head 20cc domes >RM stator w/+4 timing >Kehien PWK 28mm carbs >Ported stock reed cages w/TDR reeds I am running 148 mains and 38 pilots. The needle is on the second notch from the top.The pilots are 2.5 turns OUT. The top and mid range I feel are perfect. Plug chops look great, everything. The bottom right off idle (pilots) is still boggy and sputters. Now if the temp is 60F or below it runs decent and I can get away with the pilots being so mushy, but now that the temp has hit 70's I am fouling plugs almost as soon as the thing starts. If I put around for more than 15 seconds they start to foul out. I have no idea why my bike likes such small pilots but it does, I have never had in bigger than stock pilots when I had stock carbs. I have a new stator, new coil and new plug caps. The thing is I still have to use the chokes to start the thing but I turn them off as soon as it is running or they will foul out. Im not sure what to do. I was gonna order smaller pilots but jetrus doesnt even have any smaller than 38's!! Also, the needles that came with the carbs have no markings at all on them, I have no idea which ones they are. Could it be something else with the carbs? They are really clean and look almost brand new. The insides look great as well. I dont know what to do at this point. thanks for the help guys

dude they sell a plate that does the exact same thing as that one only you dont have to weld it on. It just bolts to the frame using the gas tank bolts. I think you can find them on ebay or else over on anything2stroke.com I have one and love it

I bought a pair of alpinestars of ebay for cheap. I think they are the tech 3's. They arent high tech but they work perfect for quads. I were a size 14 too. Alpinestars really are some of the best boots out there.

do they work on any size carbs?

thats confusing though because when you screw the air screws out you are leaning them out and 3 turns is max. So you have gone as lean as you can with those pilots but then you are running with the chokes on, so it cancels it out. I run 38 pilots in my 28pwk's but they are still a little fat on the bottom. I need to find a better needle I think too.

Thanks man. We just built that step up on the day. It pretty fun, we are gonna continue to make it bigger. My buddy just decided he wanted to build some jumps near his warehouse, so we did! This is me yesterday. nothing ridiculously huge but its fun. I have always jumped my banshee but I weigh 220 and even with aftermarket shocks I still max this thing out. I have bent the shit out of all my foot pegs and bolts. It doesn't have the best geometry for jumping that's for sure, but you can still have some fun with it.

na, just keep it simple and clean. Just some small text and maybe a small logo of something. I personally would never wear a shirt with a four wheeler on it around town or even when riding. Most "moto-enthusiast" shirts end up really shitty with some clunky huge picture on them and bright colors. We need to think more like the companies that actually SELL lots of shirts. Like fox, shift or any of those brands. They are staying away from the 80's huge bright colored pictures on the front.

Yeah I have had terrible over heating issues when I am out at Little Sahara, especially in the trails. I started running engine ice and it helped a lot and I just installed an oversized radiator with engine ice and I hope that does the trick cause I am always getting left behind by my friends cause Im overheating. Im going out there at the end of the month to try it out.

well if one side has been backfiring most likely its not the jetting, probably an air leak or a dirty jet. Put the 290's back in and do a proper plug chop. Go from there. Do you have stock pipes? If so 290's should be fine. My bike was still using the stock pilots when I had stock carbs, even with all the mods I have now. I would put the stock pilots in and see if it is messing the plugs up early. Then if that is better check the needle. I dont know anything about the vito's kit but you dont have that many mods so it might be overkill. Also, man right now Im sure you are noticing the weather is completely out of control. If you jetted in 70 degrees and you take it out today (31 where I am) then it is gonna be lean.

I just switched to the 28pwk's and once I got them dialed in they pull just as hard on the bottom as my stockers did. The top end is greatly improved though. I am very happy with them. Not to mention how ridiculously better they are designed. I fucking hate the stockers.

hey guys, I am wondering if there is a special way to color bolts. I figured painting them was the easiest obviously but I am thinking about coloring the bolts on my hipers black so there isnt as much silver. Do you think they will hold up at all? What about actually installing them? thanks guys

just like the title says. 20X11X10 ITP sandstar paddles. I bought them used about a year ago and I have put 3 dune trips on them since. They are not very worn at all. Pictures show paddles are still at the 1" mark. The small paddles on the inside show some wear but nothing major. They are on Douglas Black Label rims that have no scuffs or dings at all. Everyone is going to say something different, but if you are in an area that has lots of sharp rocks or sharp trees make sure you get a 6ply tire. other than that you just need to see what is on the market and think about looks, price and what it is designed for. I personally LOVE the razr's. They have never let me down they are indestructible. just go to rockymountainatv.com and do some comparisons.

I am running the Primary Drive kit from RMATV.com I run the gold X ring chain and steel sprockets. I have heard from most people to run the steel sprockets cause you will eat through the aluminum ones. I havent run anything but steel but I think sand is pretty hard on sprockets. They have whole kits on there cheap, and its usually a good idea to change out the sprockets with the chain.

does anyone have a 450r or something that they could measure the tie rods for me? Im having a hard time finding what length they are. thanks
