Well if he says thats from toomey than i would go with that but if your adding more mods than just the pipes you need to up that jetting, the advanced timing will give you better throttle response in conjuction with your VF3's. The high flow impeller is more of a safegaurd for your motor from overheating. The stock plastic ones have been known to crack. First get your mains dialed in then work on the pilots if need be.

how cold are you right now? check your gas flow to the carbs, when was the last time you cleaned them out? got good compression? got the choke tube on?

They said it all above, great pipes, i love em!

who sells a good pro shift kit?
bansheeman1988 replied to hollisatp's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
I would buy from Fast just cuz its cheaper and have heard some things about those shift pro kits causing the tranny to shift on its own if you hit too big of a bump, but thats just what i have heard. -
Yeah youll be okay for a non welded crank. Get a timing plate and put to +4, take the lid off your airbox, get a highflow impeller, and start with 340 mains and work your way down. might need to also put in 27.5 pilots. Other than that i would think you'd be good!

my pro circuits are pretty damn loud and sounds just like a sled when you rip on it. AAAH i love that sound, BRAAAAP BRAAAAP!!!

I've always debated on switching to a twist but since i hear that it could propose a problem with ridin I wont. Only thing i hate with my thumb is that its like twice as hard to push as my buddies 400ex. you think its cuz of an old throttle cable?

Allright im gonna be tearing my shee down anyways so ill crank up the spring and see what that does.

good luck duuuuuude! -
You should change your wrist pins everytime you overhaul the top end. Reguardless if they look okay, the new ones are also the same size as your stock connecting rods. Hope this helps.

Got your pipe temps for ya bud, the temp off the manifolds is around 500 degrees, my meter said 471. The biggest part of the pipe was 167 and the silencers were near 140 at the inlet of the silencer. These temps might be off since its around 5 degrees in these parts, but i tried to rip on her as much as possible to get the higher temps. Have fun coating your pipes! -
Dominator and interceptor. Along with the 10-30 for tranny oil, cant beat Amsoil!

How to tell if carb bowl is on wrong carb?
bansheeman1988 replied to 94cobra2615's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
There is a choke jet in one of the carb bowls that allows the choke circuit to actually work. Its down in the deep hole in the carb bowl, youll know what i mean when you see it. There will be a jet only in one of the bowls and it goes on the left carb. good luck -
Update to "My shee idles but won't rev!"
bansheeman1988 replied to JJBYZ4x4's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
You still got the stock carbs and tors im assuming right?? I assume so, get rid of it with a tors elimination kit, its pretty cheap and you can get them on ebay or from toomey.com for about 50 bucks for the carb caps, cables, and idle screw kits. This will eliminate a TON of problems. Ditch the boost bottle it does nothing for you, get a adjustable stator plate and up the timing. You'll see a noticable difference. If you got the dough buy some V-force 3 reeds otherwise just buy some boyesen reeds for your stock cages. Coolhead is a very good upgrade also, giving you more low end and awesome cooling. If your gonna buy a coolhead, you should also buy a pro flow aluminum impeller to go with it for good cooling and reliability. The addiction never ends!! Good luck bud! -
Your shee will be just as reliable as long as you keep your jetting right and make sure she is running tip top. Everyone has their own preference on pipes but T5's are a good exhaust system from that stock stuff! As for your jetting i would start at 340 and work your way down doing plug chops. You might also need to bump up your pilot jets to 27.5, its what other people have had to do with their t5s. Good luck and here is a chart for Compression. Sea Level 1000' 2000' 3000' 4000' 5000' 18cc 197 178 171 170 165 145 19cc 183 167 160 158 152 137 20cc 169 156 149 146 140 129 21cc 156 145 138 134 128 121 stock 130 125 118 112 106 100

Use that engine ice, proflow impeller and if you really need more cooling, buy a coolhead.

I seen that you want a port job, that shop i referred does porting. They trued my crank for me and did an exceptional job!

I would think your 280's should be fine but you could bump it up to a 290 cuz of the frigid temps!! But on where to get the pilots im not sure in Canada but here in the states you could order them from a place near the twin cities (where I live) and they should be able to get them to ya. They are called Bill Bune Enterprises and do all sorts of small engine work and are a mikuni carb dealer. You just have to specify your exact pilots cuz there are a few different ones with holes in different places. So I would shoot them an email or call em up and see if they'll hook you up! Otherwise you could always order it from the yami dealership if all else fails. Good luck buddy! Heres the website for that shop: http://www.billbune.com/

Upgrading suspension and axle
bansheeman1988 replied to bansheeman1988's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
Yeah ASR sounds like an all american company, hence the amer. star racing haha. And stand by their warranty with them replacing your bent arm for free!! How much was it to revalve your shocks? and where did you send them? Ive heard lots of good things about g-force axles too! -
oh yeah there will be some pictures of all the upgrades, and yeah ASR sounds like it has a good warranty and is backed up by it.

take your gas tank off, leave a little bit of gasoline in it, and tip it on its side. Put compressed air backfed thru the petcock in both positions (reserve and on). After that, swish the gas in the tank around sitting upright around the petcock and dump it out. If there's anything in the gas, there was your prob and I recommend not full on blasting it with the air gun tho, just a nice short blip of the air should be enough. You could also spray some carb cleaner up the petcock for a little more cleaning power when you blow it with the airgun. Let us know what happens.
