Any good news on "Passion racing" Jim work recently?
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to 007's topic in Banshee Repairs and Mods
WOW. We got another victim. First he's out his parts...... Then if he ever gets his stuff back....then he's out all his money and 10% of his power. I thought you were just curious about using him. Didn't know you took a big gulp of the Kool-aid. Sorry nobody told you.......his is sugar free. -

banshee overheating with new fmf fattys
WINDYCITYJOHN400 replied to jackvx2k's topic in Jetting & Exhaust Forum
I believe it needs to be inspected. Yes it's work. But after getting that hot it might need a bore/hone, fresh pistons. Or.....you roll the dice and it all goes bad and you end up needing to split cases and replace crank and seals too. Either way, EVERYONE here would agree that the owner of a machine (new to them) should verify jetting rather than trust the previous owners tune job. Part of that is to do a leakdown check. I know your gut wants to hope for the best. But if it got that hot........well.......you know my stance. It's your call. -

If you want to be the guy who just throws in the correct jetting, then fires it up and takes it for a rip....go ahead. But if you wanna get a manual and be willing to spin some wrenches.......members will walk you through an inspection. I personally feel you cooked it good enough to need to freshen the top end and put in a fresh water pump. On the otherhand.....you could hope for the best and maybe it's fine.......or maybe you fire it up and it turns into a full rebuild. Guess it comes down to deciding how much you wanna learn and when. Some lessons in life can get expensive. ...... -
Hopefully one bike length in front of the 44HP 450 I'm bringing. Then drink till you are a fool on camera around the campfires. You can't worry about faster bikes. There is ALWAYS a faster bike. That can't stop you from trying new places and ride terrain. Dunes are the Banshee's native environment. If you haven't done a dunes ride.......well that's like owning a ZO6 Vette that you have only just driven it back and forth to the train station for work. Nice to drive a Vette.....but is that really "Driving"?

There are a few members that can't get their parts back or get thru via phone, text, email, facebook, carrier pigeon. Why....you wanna be one of those people? Dave 5.0 had his cub ported at passion. Result? WAY less power than an unported cub. DYNO PROVEN FACT. Find a new guy. -

Too late. Pilot should have been 27.5 200 main was too small too. I would do some serious inspection of the motor at this point. Do you have a Clymers manual? -

Yes. He's been off the grid and unreachable for about 1/2 a year now. Greatest thing I've heard in years. Cub motors are breathing a sigh of relief nation wide. Congrats you get to keep your power. -

Sprocket Gearing for duning and racing up dunes

This is DDQ's bike tho. 37HP isn't going to eat a sprocket. I know a guy who ran a 12 for a few seasons. -

More teeth on the drive sprocket shares load over more of the chain. But low power bikes that need the gearing aren't really a threat to chain life as much as bikes with Mas Powers. -
Scared to loose on my YFZ450R??? It has a stock pipe still. I just did the power programmer with a full custom fuel map. I make 44 HP. (There, now you all have time to work on your builds. LOL) SO IT'S A 450 EXTRAVAGANZA AT LS? I've seen the videos, but they are mostly 2-strokes. Do 4-strokes run while the banshees are heading back to the starting line?

Yes, on FMF'S they know it needs to say turbine core. They even have software that lists all the spark approved silencers. I watched them use it to verify that the silencer On a dirtbike was NOT equipped with a spark arrestor....even though it passed the prob test. DNR new it shouldn't have passed.
