fuck i thought the stem just unbolted from the top, and then you take that nut off the bottom and pop it out. so what do i need to do to change this bearing?

so that is inside the whole steering stem thing. im just going to swap the whole thing out for a new one, i heard its a bitch to take apart.

Are they hard to change? Isn't it better to just slap a new stem in?

Definetly not the shocks, I have works shocks which are pretty new, and I had my friend turn the handlebars while I was down listening to it, definetly coming from the steering stem tube. My shocks make squishy noises when I hop on, but that's normal. I can't hear it while the bike is running.

on my 97, there is kind of a popping sound coming from the front end, i just noticed it since i put newer stock a arms and tie rod joints on, my old ones were fucked. its kind of a clicking popping sound, if you hold one of the front wheels and turn the handlebars is when you can hear it. it doesnt feel loose at all, i have kind of tracked it down to be the coming from the steering stem, there are bearings inside on the top and bottom i think. is this something i need to fix asap, or can it wait? i would rather not have to do it until after this season. i dont care about the noise, i just dont want something to pop and then crash my shit. i have checked every bolt i changed, and they are all nice and tight, noise isnt coming from them.

i guess i should order the top one for my 97 then, it doesnt have it, just a slider below the chain.

in this diagram, 13-18. it says 2 are required, i guess 1 above and 1 below the front sprocket. is the top one important?

yea, i think that one is for a different type of chain, but the bike stock should have 2 rollers there right? are the top ones important?

the 01 shee (i said it and what?!) i bought has a little roller on top of the chain above the front sprocket, along with the one that bolts in where the swingarm is. did they all come with this? havent noticed it on any others before. is it important?

With the 27.5s in, 310s, long needles on 4th clip, and screws 1/2 turn out, seems to run perfectly. it is a little colder today than when I ride, so I might need to play with it more when it gets warmer. is 1/2 turn out ok?

i got the 27.5s, i am going to put them in today. stay with the longer needle? i was going to totally start over now, 310 mains, needle on the 4th clip from blunt end, and 1.5 out on the screws and try and adjust from there.

my 01 i just picked up has white plastics which are in good shape, just a few scratches, but they do have dirt stains on them. what can i use to clean this? i was thinking maybe bleach or comet, but wanted to check before i do it.

what would you use if the pipes are pitted with rust?

is the "choke trick" effective at all to check your jetting? i was reading about it in this banshee tuning faq i found.

I just bought a bone stock 06 not too long ago, and i had everything i added powdercoated black. the whole reason i bought the 06 was for the murdered out look, i didnt want to bling it out and lose that. murder it! i have added ac propegs and a powdercoated LSR +4 axle since these pics, i will take some real nice pics when i wash it up, and before i ride it, because it will never look this good once i get it out on the trails.
