  1. That would be nice. Unfortunately I need a gripper seat cover, a better rear shock and a 12mm tie rod upgrade first. LOL
  2. I have never rode my Banshee with a thumb throttle. I'm going to swap out my twist throttle in hopes of improving control and lap times on tight XC and hare scramble tracks. I have heard that the Honda 400ex and TRX450R units work well on the banshee and feel even better than the aftermarket units. I'm looking for some feed back on this. I'm running 28PWK's Thanks
  3. https://www.facebook.com/pages/OXCR/235087663292541 Yes, UTV classes in this series. 7/13/13 at CYCO in Bainbridge. 8/31/13 and 10/19/13 Full throttle in Hillsboro.
  4. Just an FYI. I did an XC race 4-27-13 at Full throttle racing Hillsboro Ohio. It was round 2 of the OXCR (the former SOXCR) 4.5 mile track, 8 laps. 36 miles in 2 hours and nothing broke in the Shee. OK the best part, 50 Quads showes up fot this event. 4 were Banshees and 1 was a nice modded old TRX250R GO 2 STROKES!!!
  5. I'm finding it's a learn as you go deal with a banshee cause nobody races them anymore. I'm doing hare scrambles and GP this year so it's kind of a compromise. I'm running the new GBC XC masters and for $280 to my door you just can't beat them for a 6 ply tire. New for this Saturdays race is 20 more PSI compression from a Chariot head. Up 1 tooth on the counter sprocket. and a steering stabilizer to help my 49 year old freakin arms.
  6. Yea, I was battling a wet coil the whole race. A She is no fun on 1 cylinder. Yea, Brent's Renegade is quiet a machine. He has Looney Tuned Dual exhaust, Power commander and 4 Custom Axis shocks on it. AND it's power steering.
  7. Thanks for the input. I think when I play ride I'll be OK with pump but to be on the safe side I'm blending for race day. What have you all seen in power when adding your cool heads with this big a bump in compression? I'm looking for anything that will give me more torque and wider power band. My next mod is going to have to be a set of V3's It may be denial that keeps me on a Banshee or the joy of blowing by a TRX450R on a 50 yard straight BUT, I'm starting to think I could be turning better lap times on a YFZ450R. I've had my Shee for 14 years and will be buried with it.
  8. So I raced my first GP Saturday and 80% of the time I'm in 1st gear maxed out screaming thru the woods. Pretty scary thru tight woods but second is just a little too tall. Only time I used 2nd & 3rd was on the MX part of the track. I'm going up one (14 to 15) on the counter sprocket and throwing on a Chariot head with 20cc domes. This is the first time I've done 2 mods at once but I'm pretty sure one will complement the other. Due to my port job and stock head I'm only around 120 PSI on a fresh top end so going to 160 PSI and 50/50 94 and cam2 should give me a nice boost out of the corners and more useable power thru the woods. Thoughts?
  9. AMA D-11 at Hocking valley motorcycle club in Logan Ohio. Ignition coil got wet and made it a long day. New GBC XC Masters worked pretty good in this crap. Lap 3 hit a Yeti.....kidding
  10. PM sent on steering stabilizer
  11. I'm going to bump this one last time in hopes that a sponsor will jump in and make me a great deal. The Cutter XC are out because I guess they don't make 22-11-9 so I've narrowed it down to GBC X-rex, Sure Grip Stinger, Innova Power Gear or STI Tech 4 and would like any input on these tires. All are 6 ply and less than $180 shipped for 2. Thanks All.
  12. The motosport.com website doesn't list the 22-11-9 Cutter XC. All they list is the 20-11-9 for $86. I'm going to give them a call.
  13. If you want to get into XC or hare scrambles be prepared to set your Banshee up some what like my bike (see sig) AND the correct set of tires. I must say for this type of racing your money would be better spent on a YFZ450 unless you buy a Shee allready modded for XC or are just "hard core Banshee" like me. And yes it is a blast.
  14. Think I'm going with the 6 ply Kenda Kutter XC 22-11-9 Under $86 each shipped.
  15. Aren't they a little round across the face of the tread?
  16. On a somewhat tight budget. I don't even run bead locks. I put my 4 ply mud sharks thru 3 times as much hell play riding in Jackson county West Virginia for the past 5 years as I did in last Sundays 80 minute hare scramble. The Sharks hook up and hold a corner like poop and I think these tires would be a big improvement unless you all can talk me out of it. Keep it coming and thanks you all for the input.
  17. Wow, Just found the 22 x 10 x 9 from Bike Bandit for $106 for 2 tires to my door. They got to be better than my sharks.
  18. Thanks for the input guys. Keep it comming. Just looked at the Venoms. Little tight on the tread spaceing for hare scrambles and only come in 18" and 20" I'm going to need 22" fot the tracke in southern Ohio.
  19. They say they are 4 ply. They are getting a lot good talk on the YFZ & KFX fourms as damn near as good as Holeshots but at $70 each.
  20. Suspension set up pretty well (see sig) Just don't know what in the hell I was thinking running them Mud shark rear tires.
  21. Anyone run them? Thoughts. Just ran a hare scramble yesterday with Mud sharks and boy did they suck. I can get a pair of 22x10x9 to my door for $140 Razr's would run what? $240
  22. Banshee after round 1 AMA district 11 hare scramble in Athens Ohio. Let’s just say “finished running” Good test session. Learned a lot about tires and suspension setup. Like.... I need both.
  23. Think I'll just remove the .020" from the plate mating surface of the basket.
  24. OK, I am way over budget getting bike ready for 1st hare scramble this coming weekend. Billet basket is out of the question .That said, does anyone have an extra shim or know where to get one. This part is required when replacing the cushions on a stock basket.
