EveryThing2Stroke - shout box

I've actually never been on E2S, but I agree... it sounds like they sure don't like their shout box messed with! lol. Well, at least it's just for three days! -

Man that's a lot of smiley's!! -
That's similar to what the feedback was on the Xena type. The guy was saying that the alarm wouldn't arm itself unless you bumped it around a little, and on something like that i would definitely want something that worked good and that I didn't have any doubts on! Thanks for the reply.

What's up everyone? I tried to do a search on this but kept getting an error page. I was wondering if anyone has used the type of lock that secures the disc rotor and has an alarm built in. I found one of them online called Xena, but read it had a negative feedback comment. Does anyone know of any good ones out there? I have pretty good security on my quads, but to be honest I live in a rough neiborhood and feel that a little bit of extra protection wouldn't hurt.

Welcome, Showtime. I'm fairly new to HQ, but it's a really great forum. Lots of good people and info on here.

I wonder what size cam he's running in that 2-stroke? lol.

Well I've never ridden the YFZ's, but I have a GYTR 700. I wanted that particular model because of the shocks and the color scheme. Night and day difference from my Shee, but the reason I wanted one was for the torque for trail riding. The 700's are the way to go if your gonna get a Raptor, I am very happy with mine.

Got my Noss head around 2 months ago, and couldn't be happier with it. The low end power increase was great. I'm around sea level with 21cc domes and run premium pump gas. Didn't take long to install, either. David was very helpful with the questions I had about it.

All you guys make me feel bad, all I have is the 15 inch monitor that came with the computer. Time for me to upgrade! -
Teacher walks into her third grade class and says " Today kids, we are going to study the word DEFINITELY, can anyone correctly use the word definitely in a sentence?" Little Suzy was the first to raise her hand. " Teacher, the sky is DEFINITELY blue!" Well, the teacher said, thats not entirely true. Sometimes it's grey, and at night it's black. Next, little Jason answered. " Teacher, the leaves are DEFINITELY green!" Well, thats close but not quite true either, replied the teacher. In the fall they are brown. About that time, little Johnny raised his hand from the back of the classroom. The teacher was pleased and surprised to hear from him and said yes, Johnny? Johnny said "teacher are farts lumpy?" No, she replied. Johnny says " Then I DEFINITELY just shit my pants!!

Here in Florida we have to register our quads and they give us a sticker simuliar to a car tag, however I think it's just a one time deal. I sure hope they don't start requiring us to renew them every year, we have three quads and I don't think I could afford it!
-
Are you talking about removing blueing or just cleaning / shining them?

I used PJ1 filter cleaner & oil on my filter when it was the stock foam. It works pretty good. Still use it on my other quad and my wifes wolverine.

I'm from central Florida, but looking to move to Georgia soon. Very few riding areas down here where I live. ( within reasonable driving distance )

Dirt wheels, July 04'. Banshee vs. DS650. Also did a review of one in December of 05' which prompted me to get mine.

I feel fortunate. I had my Shee, and I was also wanting a Raptor 700 for trail riding. My wife supported me on getting it and now I have two awesome quads! I think It's nice to have the 2 and 4 stroke quads for different riding terrain.

Including the cost of the bike can be a big factor in overall cost. I just paid mine off a few months ago, so I actually have around 8k in a completely stock Banshee, including interest. Then, lightly modded with a few bolt-on goodies has me over 9 thousand. And I haven't even gotten into the motor yet. ( my wife is monitering all the parts I order! :ermm: )

I've gotta agree with you on the FMFs. I'm certainly not an expert on all the different pipes out there, but I can't forget the first ride with mine on after riding stock. Very nice power increase, pretty much through the entire powerband. Now I'm making other mods, and the FMFs are staying.

Thumb for me. I've ridden my share of bikes and the twist feels natural..... but on a quad I don't think I would like it to much. Don't get me wrong, not saying it doesn't suit alot of riders. I just think it would seem a little odd to me.

Wish I could spend mine on mods, but I've got home owners insurance coming up.... still might try to work in an adjustable timing plate and vf3s though.

Well, I've heard that the billet shifters have less flex than the stock which results in more positive shifting. I don't know, but I will soon be finding out because I'm about to get a pro-design shifter. I've gotta admit that the reason I want one is more for the bling factor though!
-
I haven't removed mine on my stock shifter, but I took a look at it and it is threaded. There is no nut on the bolt.
-
Thanks alot, I was hoping it wouldn't. I really appreciate it.

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone could ease my mind about something. The other day I installed a coolhead and when I got the stock head off I noticed a very small amount of coolant in the left cylinder on top of the piston, ( just a very small amount along the ring ) I immediatly wiped it up with a rag and continued the head swap. It couldn't have been much at all because I drained the cylinders beforehand. I test rode the quad afterwards and it runs awesome. What I'm wondering now is if I got all the coolant up and if it's possible that any got past the rings. If so, would it get burned up, or could it stay in there and possibly cause harm to my engine? Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.

Well, I just installed mine the night before last. I got home from work yesterday and took it for a test spin and right away I noticed a nice increase in bottom and mid range power. It pulls a lot harder from the bottom of the powerband to the top with crisp power. I'll have to wait for the weekend to get more riding time in on it, but I am very satisfied with it already. I think it is a very good investment.
