  1. yeah im pretty sure the side of the wiseco box says 0.00297" close enough to 3 thou!
  2. its written on the box, you want about 3 thou. yep 80 thou over is 66mm
  3. i hear ya, i have CPIs on my RZ and not much skin on my left leg! you will love the zeeltronic. i only had 2 hours dyno time b4 i had other problems but in that short time i made huge improvements to the powerband. my motor should be pretty similar to yours, passion 12 port 4mm?
  4. if the pipe change doesnt satisfy your powerband needs maybe you could look into a zeeltronic programable ignition and powervalve controller. they do wonders for filling in gaps in the power curve and increasing the peak power too!
  5. lol, i have one of those, they arent that bad ass... does anyone have a nitro rc quad?
  6. i agree. with a 10mm you will have to run a spacer plate to stop the piston being pushed out the top of the barrel, and unless you resleeve the stock cyls to optimise the transfer timing it wont work very well. after all that work is done, you might as well have started with a 10mm cub. so while the cranks might cost the same, the extra work required to make a 10mm work well does not make it feasible.
  7. I have just been reading with interest that a Raptor 700 from australia has won the 4 stroke wars "king of the hill" at glamis, running 83mph up the hill. is there such a race that banshees compete in too? what is the fastest a banshee has gone up oldsmobile hill? thanks, mark
  8. Jim at Passion Racing is a lectron guru, he swears by em. give him a call for some setup advice. http://www.passionracingengines.com/
  9. i know a guy that races speedway/flat track on a 485 cheetah with a lock up clutch and no over-ride. he has had endless trouble with the gearbox in it...
  10. this guy has done the megasquirt on his rz350... http://www.smcomp.com/~smurph/RZ-EFI/index.html
  11. your on an american website asking who can fix your bent nerf bar in australia? go to www.ozatv.com there are hundreds of users on there from the sydney/newcastle area who can tel you exactly where to take it
  12. looks like a CB250 engine to me... inline/parralel twin. pretty ordinary engine to put in a quad IMO, but hey, like you said its only cost you $70! pretty cheap fun!
  13. dajogejr what are the exhaust and transfer durations for a 4mm cub (68mm) straight outa the box? thanks, mark
  14. lol ^^ needles arent really something that wear out, you dont need titanium ones! chances are he was bullsh1tting you anyway..
  15. the most important part of an aftermarket head is the combustion chamber design of the dome you are going to use. in my experience noss are the best off-the-shelf domes.
  16. your in australia right? get noss 19cc domes and run BP Ultimate 98 RON fuel. thats what we all run up here, exact same elevation mods etc etc... youll love it.
  17. when you say TZ bearing, is it a genuine yamaha part? and is it only available for the PTO side? thanks, mark
  18. the crank seal is not what is causing the oil to spit out the breathers, that is just something these bikes do. i did a ton of research on it when i first got my bansh coz mine does the same thing, and a few of my mates bikes as well. we have figured the ones that get ridden the hardest tend to blow the oil.. we just redirected the end of the breather from pointing at the pipes to pointing at the chain, and keep an eye on your gearbox oil level. if the crank seal was shot it would suck air and gearbox oil into the crank case, not blow it out... it would cause weird running issues though. while you have it apart replace the other seal too and all new gaskets etc to ensure no air leaks. then start your trouble shooting from there.. if anything your pilot is probably a little big, try a 27.5.
  19. sweet, im guessing there would be a few mint ones around the place. i would love to have a mint example of every model banshee ever made in a giant collection! the banshee museum!
  20. Is there anyone on here that bought a brand new banshee when they first came out in 1987? better yet, anyone on here that did that and still has it? dont spose anyones ever seen one still in the crate recently? just wondering. thanks, mark
  21. yeah i think the lock up might have had something to do with that... anyways all im sayin is 8 plates are better than 7 lol... thats why 450s and 700s come stock with them. they also come stock with pancake bearings, another popular banshee clutch mod!
  22. how do you add an extra steel without adding a fibre with it and why would this be any advantage? you dont need a different basket to run 8 plate, you just need the hinson inner hub. you could run any basket, hinson inner hub and any pressure plate and it would allow you to run 8 plates. or like i said machine the stock inner hub and pressure plate. i disagree. drag racing my buddies on the bitumen, my FZR1000 fibres and new stock steels didnt last long in my 4mm RZ with 3 heavy springs and 3 stock springs. 6 heavy springs probly woulda held it but i use this engine for everything, and after a few laps of the mx track or a good hour trail riding, you cant pull the clutch lever in with 6 heavy springs! wouldnt a properly tuned lock up take care of everything for you drag guys anyway?
  23. the main advantage to the hinson inner hub is being able to run an extra steel and fibre plate, for more contact area. you then wont need such stiff clutch springs to hold the power. this wont concern the drag guys much but for any other racing or trail/duning it is a huge plus. i have heard of people machining their stock inner hubs/pressure plates to be able to do this also.
  24. if you go and read all brandon's posts on here (blowit) you can tell he really knows his stuff when it comes to 2 strokes! I wouldnt hesitate to let him do my cyls, good choice speed-racer, and good work brandon. mark.
  25. why does it cost that much to ship to germany? to send a set of pipes from US to aus is only about $100 US?
